2 days before a Playoff game and our starting LT is helping eat 1,000 wings. I get it, lineman aren’t peeled, but are we shocked Dion’s conditioning is subpar. This is why I was on Allen (who has since admitted he needs to workout more - K.Brant podcast) and why I question this notion that Gabe is the hardest worker ever when he has zero definition and a flabby gut in a photo taken one week after the season ends.

Well that was an absolute crap fest - PostGame thread

Glad we passed on Dewand Jones. Bills might have to play jumbo set all the time. No idea if there is a rule against that, but RT is laughably bad. Picking through cuts to find a RT might have to be the route the Bills take honestly. -
Question About Josh Allen’s Elbow
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Steve32994's topic in The Stadium Wall
To me only Allen could really answer if there is a loss of arm strength with two UCL injuries in the past 5 years. Our media would have to ask an open ended question - Josh has there been any loss of pure arm strength with the UCL injuries? Instead they love serendipity stories and fate and destiny and soap opera narratives. -
I don't know how to reconcile the nobody outworks Gabe Davis line, with the photo I saw of him after the season with Bert K. If the Bills just straight up let him walk and try to replace with what they have, of course they'll be worse. But heading into the 2024 Draft we already know the biggest problems on this roster: RT, WR, MLB and probably going to need someone at S.

Spencer Brown Injury Concern

Not a shock. I wanted him in the Draft. Instead we took a 223 pound MLB. Beane’s blind spot for Brown is hurting the team. -
Outside of MLB, Where are the Bills Worse in 2023?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was so erratic. Kumerow and Crowder were 0's. John Brown catches a bomb, and nothing else. Beasley scores in the Dolphins Playoff game, but his usage was off from 2020/2021. McKenzie was so inefficient that just getting him off the field and replacing him with Shakir should be better (if Josh looks his way). I have to think between Harty, Sherfield, and Shorter there has to be more than 500 yards and 4 TDs in there. Agree with you at OT though. Brown is a red flag and he doesn't appear to be any better physically. -

In 2022, there was nothing after Gabe Davis. I think they're marginally better. -

RT looks like its going to be a problem again all this season. Worse? I don't know, but nothing out of camp says Brown has taken a big step forward. -
Torrence is the best news out of week one
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just wait, that Spencer Brown explosion is coming. It was that back injury last year, and DII football the year before that, and conversion to OT the year before that. I think the Bills are still smartly waiting for that Sammy Watkins explosion into a dominant NFL WR. -
Mike Schopp can spin this for a week trying to figure out what Diggs was mad about. (the same thing he was mad about 6-months ago, losing in the Playoffs). Shocker! JUST SPIT IT OUT John. It's like story time with that guy, guitar by the camp fire telling stories. Always a preamble.

He said the EXACT SAME THINGS on the Rich Eisen shown in January. He was angry then that the Bills lost again in the Playoffs, and this time they were embarrassed. Talked then about how it was eating at him that they couldn't win the big one. Angry at the whole thing, the first AFCCG, 13-seconds, the offense sputtering down the stretch, the lack of any urgency on the team's part in January.
-
You knew something was wrong last year when he got 11 touches on offense in 7 games. They couldn't figure anything out. And they kept feeding the media the "he's new" line over and over again. McDermott got his hands on him and straight to the Special Teams dungeon he went.

OT…opinions of Jalen Hurts

Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence -
Clearly they want a cross-section of the view from the top of the NFL mountain, an average starter, down to a former first rounder who has been cycled around the league and is now in the placeholder veteran role, being replaced by the new draft pick.

What is the mental hang up here with this? Diggs left the stadium to go be with Hamlin. He was screaming at Allen in the Playoff game, and since there are rumors as to why Allen didn’t play well in that game, couldn’t get him the ball. He went on Rich Eisen and laid out why he was angry, three straight Playoff losses, feels like are the Bills really going to get over the hump. So your mind starts telling you, what if I play with my brother in a bigger city, do I want to play under McDermott again. Makes sense to me. Not hard to figure out.
-
Because the Bills were coming off a history of forcing backup caliber QBs into starter roles: 2-years of JP Losman 3-years of Trent Edwards 3-years of Ryan Fitzpatrick A desperate draft pick in EJ Manuel. So yes, Tyrod was better than those players, but 200 yards, 1 TD, 0 Interceptions is not good enough to really win games.
-
Right circumstances would be not a dead cap hit of $40M, and say the Bills grant Diggs alleged desire to play with his brother. Then the right circumstances would be we're getting Ceedee Lamb and a pick back. It will never happen because of Diggs' age, but the whole reason he is here is because he was a known commodity. I would think the Bills would want the same thing again in a trade.

It's Schopp and his undying love for Lamar. He's been in love with him since the 2019 MVP, as is the National media as well. They hang onto that 2019 MVP like Mufasa on the cliff. I think on the Bengals, Joe Burrow being all about football, whereas Allen has admitted on Kyle Brandt, that up until this offseason, he hasn't done all the conditioning and weight lifting that he could have to take full advantage of his natural talent.
