Starts with the interior DL. Let DJ Reader walk (went to Lions), replaced him Sheldon Rankins and he’s been playing hurt all season, ineffective, BJ Hill in and out of the lineup. They have Trey Hendrickson who is elite, but after that, no pass rush whatsoever. Sam Hubbard has disappeared this season. None of their recent DL draft picks have worked - Myles Murphy (1st Round pick), Joseph Ossai. Kris Jenkins has been ok. I think Geno Stone has been a FA disappointment, and Von Bell coming back has been a step slow. Battle has been ok, but the profile on him coming out was average athleticism. At corner losing Dax Hill early to an ACL, DJ Turner broken clavicle last week, and suddenly Cam Taylor Britt went from an unbelievable pick-6 in Week 2 against the Chiefs, to now he is routinely burnable down the field. The secondary after Jessie Bates walked in Free Agency doesn’t generate turnovers anymore, not great at stopping the run, thin in the secondary, one elite pass rusher who has to be on the field all the time. When you invest in Murphy, Ossai, Jenkins, Turner, Cam Taylor Britt, Dax Hill, Jenkins, Battle, and none of those players really are elite. Also, two years ago Logan Wilson gave the Bengals 4-Ints, he’s at 0 right now, occasionally Germaine Pratt has an INT or forced fumble. I thought they’d be better because they had admassed several players in their early-prime, had continuity, but Reader leaving has hurt, and the secondary has not regained its 2021 form.

Mr Brightside Playing at the Stadium
Straight Hucklebuck replied to jimmynunn's topic in The Stadium Wall
WNY really likes alternative, going back to Offspring in the 1990’s. Might as well play Ocean Avenue in Orchard Park for how much sense Mr. Brightside in 2024 makes. WNY has always liked The Killers, All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, etc. -
Thanks for all the work on this - good work to level-set the cap space and draft picks the team has to work with. Two high-end 6th Round picks from the Giants and Browns. After the Cooper trade, I took the stance that I did not want the Bills to re-sign him. I think the Bills should invest at WR, get younger and faster at WR. And while I think Cooper is still in his late prime, the pragmatic thing to do is save that money for our own up and coming players - Shakir, Benford, Bernard and keep runway for players best years. Rasul Douglas is in the same boat for me. He’s very good, but paying 30 year old corners? Someone like London Fletcher bit the Bills letting him go at 31, Andrew Whitworth walking crippled the Bengals line for years, so like anything else there are no guarantees. 8 Draft Picks - Needs would be DT, DE, LB, S, CB - Bills really have no young perimeter corners beyond Douglas and Benford. Basically the Bills would need reinforcements at every position group. Start preparing for life without DaQuan Jones. Offensively, I’d keep Knox’s contract the same and invest at WR, search for an X. OT, IOL - two offensive lineman that are best available. Cook will be in his last year, Ray Davis on a rookie deal, probably good enough to come back, but Cooks ypc has come down every year, another back with speed would be helpful, and Ty Johnson has become the Bills 3rd down back. Ray Davis is not a #1 back.

What did you think of that golf clap by Kelce?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's exactly what your first instinct said it was - a mocking golf clap - something akin to "enjoy your tiny moment Buffalo". -
Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Per Reception Perception charting: Alingment 60.5% outside 31.5% slot 8.0% backfield Success Rates Against-Man: 55.6% (Below Avg.) Against-Press: 40.0% (Bad) Against-Zone: 76.1% (Acceptable) 33.3% success on contested catches. 38.5% of his targets in are open space. 100% first contact makes tackle 6 Targets per Game = 3 rpg for 34 yards Runs posts, corners, then slants and screens in order. Data says he needs more flat routes. 68% success rate on slants. 53% on 9 routes. So far profiles similar to Brandon Cooks. -
No Swift at Highmark thanks to Bills Mafia!
Straight Hucklebuck replied to JPL7's topic in Off the Wall
Well I guess we should be sorry the next pre-ordained “stars” that the media is demanding America loves- the Kelce brothers - didn’t have a fun experience as entitled elites in their booth. The Chiefs act like everyone is there to be the guys that bend over on all fours to allow Xerxes walk off his throne. -
Because there are more Burrow fans down here than actual Bengals fans.
-
Listening to Dave Lapham’s sad, depressed voice in this post game is heart warming.
-
Bengals post game last week said they don’t put Allen in Burrow’s class. Similar things have been said by Keith Byars. I’m more than happy to watch that trash talking, loud mouth organization, “Big Dogs of the AFC” fall to 4-7 with two games left against Pittsburgh.
-
ANYONE SEEN CEASAR AROUND HERE? HAVEN’T HEARD FROM THAT GUY??????????????
-
Anyone see the arm strength difference between Burrow and Herbert? There’s a reason I called him a check down artist. He needs 1-1 to drive it deep.
-
You can see the same thing in Drew Allar as a Josh Allen comparable. He can’t run like Allen can, it’s a slower, heavier lumbering.
-
What a shock, 1-1 on the outside and Burrow goes deep.
-
Allen is clearly more coordinated as runner, as Herbert has always been a bit clunkier.
-
COME ON HERBERT, GET THE BENGALS UP OUTTA HERE!
-
That throw sailed, did he step into and drive it?
-
Hahahahahaha - jinxed it for him.
-
McPherson has been shaky, but I think he’ll hit this.
-
Yeah, I would agree that he should be in the prime of his career, and this game would improve his season outlook. Oh what a shock, Burrow throws a late-game pick, on a predetermined deep ball - but bailed out by a flag.
-
Yeah what Bills fan wants to see that offense in the Playoffs? Two lethal WRs, accurate QB, shown the ability to put up 30+ almost every game.
-
So much easier when you have a Top-2 WR who takes screens and can out race the entire defense.
-
He absolutely is, doesn’t mean he isn’t accurate or clutch, and he gets little to no criticism for late game turnovers. Fumble against the Chiefs returned for TD. Late game Int against Ravens, ends a scoring drive. Late game Int against Eagles allows them go down the field and make it a two score game.
-
Burrow has been awesome at seeing zone coverage, knowing exactly what coverage you’re in and finding Chase and Higgins. They’ve added Geisicki this year, replacing their best year with Hurst.
