Sammy has been typical Sammy in LA - he flashes, but generally has 3 catches for 30 yards in a good percentage of games. Gaines, although always on the edge of injury, has been good, no denying that. I don't think the Darby trade was smart. 6 games in now and Matthews is a 2-3 catch game guy, who has made next to no impact over the scrubs below him on the roster. With Darby the Bills would have had a young, cheap, top flight CB pairing. I never liked that Matthews trade. It's not in your face now because Darby immediately got hurt. Dareus, I am a fan of talent and think this Coaching Staff is too carried away with Special Teams grinders, but he was out of shape and not plugged in.

I think we have to see. I think the worst case is the Bills lean too far on character, work ethic, worried too much about Special Teams and getting into 3rd and manageable to ever really make enough plays in big games to win. Right now they are getting by with Mike Tolbert, Ramon Humber, Vlad Ducasse, Jordan Matthews as the number one. Does this Staff/FO overrate brotherhood and underrate talent over the long run.

Still waiting for Watkins 4 years in now to evolve from special talent to real difference maker. 4/5 games he has been crap for the Rams. In Buffalo he occasionally flashed.

I mean ideally/realistically with McDermotts vision on offense, how many games are the Bills going to keep winning 17-14? It's puts a lot of pressure on to never turn the ball over, play shutdown defense, McCoy always near 100 yards. All with no real backups or depth at skill positions. -

To me, a coordinator is not going to solve this. We've seen these low output offensive games from the Bills team a handful of times a season since Tyrod got here in 2015. Without a passing game it's hard to bank on just running over everyone all the time. What are we talking about here? Running more of the Shotgun like Chan? Putting 6 on the line, or running with double tight ends? I know one thing that's the same with these Bills. They hover around 0.500 like a bunch of Bills teams before them. -

How can you get any more Vanilla than our previous Coach whose motto was "Ground and Pound"? -

1. We have no WRs. So it's easy to stack the box. Also we. Run a Tight End heavy offense and our TEs are fringe NFLers behind Clay. 2. Our backup RB is Tolbert, a 260 pound Fullback. Nobody else gets any carries. 3. Fire RICO and replace him with someone else on McDermott's staff who is equally as conservative and ultimately has to share McDermotts simple approach. 4. IMO fans overrate scheme and underrate talent and depth. 5. In today's NFL the Bills are still trying to line up and run over people. McCoy is not imposing and Tolbert is too slow. 6. The lack of speed jumps off the screen. Keyword Cookie G. You actually have to have athletes. -
Next man up is not good enough

Ok Augie, you don't have to think for yourself, just watch what they do - Kahalri Lee, Kaelin Clay, Philly Brown. This is not a group that is going to part with quality draft picks for help. Plus this Coach is obsessed with Special Teams, if you don't play it and you're strictly a backup, you have no value. -

Don't expect anything from Beane or McDermott, they are squarely in the DIck Jauron camp of lunchpail grinders. -

Yeah Fire him! How can an offense with Zay Jones as the number one WR and Andre Holmes as the number two, and no Charles Clay in 2nd half not put up more than 16 points? With an awesome change of pace back like Tolbert square in his prime backing up McCoy it's clear Dennison needs to go. -
5 games in and his numbers and impact are the exact same as Buffalo. 3-4 catches per game, 50 yards and a TD every 3rd game.

Projecting wins a losses as of today

Remember 2011 when the Bills were hyped at 3-0 after beating New England? They expected the Bengals to "lay down" after halftime and got beat by Jermaine Gresham. I need to see 7-2, 6-3 at minimum to really start feeling different. The defense has to stay healthy, because the offense is razor thin when it comes to depth. -
McD's worst decision this year...
Straight Hucklebuck replied to re enlightener's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well you look at Teams like the Seahawks, Rawls is constantly hurt, Procise is injured, Carson goes on IR, Lacy comes and goes, then they pull McKissic out of nowhere. The Packers lose Montgomery and Williams and they still have a rookie 6th Rounder to go to and dressed him for the game. McCoy has been holding his wrist at points of every game since the opener and we saw what happened when DiMarco got a carry. We've been getting by with smoke and mirrors offensively. There is no depth at RB, WR or TE. -
Dareus played today, right?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to McNubbins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He looks completely out of shape. I noticed him on one play trying to chase own Ryan, and he pulled up lame at the end of the play. -
Our fans are just as cocky. Remember the 3-0 start a few years ago? You started seeing the 16-0 threads start popping up. As it is now you have fans digging up all these old threads to call out other fans. We're 2-1 coming off the best win in a couple of years. But we've seen this movie 1,000 times.
