  1. Yeah it was a bump. I don’t go on the offensive first, but the guy insults me and talks down to me about McDermott’s grand plan and 1-Day later the Bills take a 37-5 kick to teeth. Their offense has to be at what? 11.5 ppg now?
  2. How’d The Process look today Bills Pimpin’? Since I’m not smart enough to understand anything hopefully you had a relaxing day on the wrong side of a 37-5 blowout. So happy McDermott and Beane have a plan.
  3. What a shock, a McDermott team that convinced a 35-year old on a beach towel to unretire and start an NFL football game got beat by 32 points by a 1-5 team. Now 11-12 as Head Coach. How is McDermott any different than Jauron again?
  4. Sorry, I don’t buy McDermott is a good Head Coach. He’ll tell you that he’s seen it all, done it all, knows the right thing to do at the right time, but his team gets blown out plenty. Bills fans love to give a ton of credit for ordinary things.
  5. Says a guy whose board name is Bring Back Orton. McDermott hasn’t shown more than he is a good defensive coordinator so far. Yeah let’s hand out all this credit like candy at Halloween.
  6. Yes you’re technically correct. I was counting regular season only. My larger point is for Bills fans to think bigger than emotions. We hate Rex and now love McDermott/Beane. Are we any any closer to real winning than we were with Rex? Has elite culture worked?
  7. Is Sean McDermott any better? Rex destroyed the Bills defense, McDermott has the worst offense in the NFL on the field. Rex: 15-16 McDermott: 11-11
  8. I think two recent examples give us insight into this exact question... In 2009, Seattle finished the last of the Mike Holgrem era, 5-11 and out of the Playoffs. Then John Schneider came in from Green Bay and Pete Carroll took over. In the 2010 draft they added Okung, Earl Thomas, Walter Thurmand, Golden Tate and Kam Chancellor in the Draft, and stole Lynch for a bag of chips from Nix. In 2011 they added KJ Wright, Richard Sherman, Byron Maxwell, signed Doug Baldwin as an UDRFA, and signed Brandon Browner in FA. In 2012 they finished the rebuild off with Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson. Seattle went from 7-9 (2010), 7-9 (2011) to 11-5 and the best defense in the league for the next four seasons. Stacked three good drafts in a row together. Second example, the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2010, the snag Carlos Dunlap and Geno Atkins in the same draft, trade for Reggie Nelson. 2011, they get both AJ Green and Andy Dalton, signed Adam Jones. In 2012, they draft Marvin Jones and Mohammed Sanu, George Iloka and picked up Vontaze Burfict as an UDRFA. Their record climbed from 4-12 to 10-6 in the span, and they started to make the Playoffs routinely. Their secondary was built on Leon Hall (1st Rounder), Jones (1st Rounder), Nelson (1st Rounder), Nate Clements (1st Rounder) and Terence Newman (1st Rounder). To answer the OP - three seasons. If you can stack three great drafts together and get a few FA's/UDRFAs to pan out you have a young team with stars everywhere.
  9. I think one of the biggest issues is convincing FAs to come to this offense and this QB situation. The Bills are bad again at QB. Not only do you not get the big city, you don’t get any track record of success. This is where the Bills usually drag Kelly & Thurman our to help create hype, but the Bills have taken a lot of egg on their face for Peterman.
  10. As much as I wouldn’t like it for Allen, you would have to leave Anderson in there. Bills could then say: 1. We’re winning now 2. Allen is developing by watching a veteran and that was the original plan 3. It would take the Peterman stink off Beane/McDermott
  11. I think the idea of a player mentor is overrated. I just think at Quarterback you are either good or you're not. You either see the field or you don't and you take ownership and grow into the role. I think Anderson can certainly point things out, but Allen is spending time in the film room with Coaches right now. So Anderson, while having played, its not like Allen was lost in the wilderness before with no help.
  12. 1. Seemingly the only requirement for Beane is that you are an ex-Panther. So that explains Anderson. 2. McDermott told you what his offense looks like: Running the ball in snowy Buffalo. So you get 90-year old Dennison and run-heavy Daboll. It all lines up to me.
  13. - Bills traded Tyrod Taylor, didn't release him - 1. Dead Cap was their choice, not imposed on them. They chose to trade talent away for culture. 2. Agree, you get what you pay for and the Bills (McDermott/Beane) don't value offense seemingly. The FA's they have signed are the bottom of the barrel. 3. Seemingly yes, the rocket armed QB debunks the checkdown offense. However, the WR's we have are slow possession guys with no vertical speed. The entire group needs to be gutted and another Tight End is needed to phase out Clay. Also, RB has been non-inventive, as the plan is to run 30-year old McCoy into the ground or hand the ball to grinders like Mike Tolbert and Chris Ivory. Again, no speed, no crosses. 4. I know I'm not smart enough. Of course I should just shut up and wait 5 years for results. Nevermind we've heard that crap forever in Buffalo. That rebuilding takes years and years and years. Too bad in the NFL you don't get 5 years. Making the Playoffs in 2017 gave the Bills the pass in 2018 and sets the table for 2019. But the tone around the Bills has already started to change with the Peterman debacle twice this season already. I don't care if Beane has a plan. If this team finishes the year with the worst offense in the league and the Bills get off to a slow start in 2019, then that seat is going to get really hot on Allen and McDermott/Beane. It always comes down to just wait longer for the billievers. Just need to keep waiting and eventually the Bills will be dominating the league. I was as happy as the next guy the Bills made the Playoffs last season. But that was a game we could have won if not for a bonehead passing call on the goal line. With as bad as Bortles played we should have won. So you keep waiting and watching the league pass the Bills by. It's only been 23 years since the Bills last Playoff win and we're 2-4 this year, with the QB the Bills selected 7th overall struggling and now hurt.
  14. They haven't shown anything to make fans think they do. 1. Benching Taylor last season for a 5th round rookie who threw 5 picks in one half, then saying you regret the outcome of the decision, not the decision itself. He appears to be a blind spot for this Coach. 2. Their FA acquisitions and trades are unimpressive. Mike Tolbert being kept as the only backup last season to McCoy, trading for Kelvin Benjamin, trading for Corey Coleman (I didn't hate the trade) but then cutting him a few weeks later, cutting Jeremy Kerley one day before Allen's first start, keep Kahari Lee for what, trading for Matthews who slow, fixating on Chris Ivory, quickly phasing out Cordy Glenn and trading him. They have an offense made up of fringe NFL players and overall the skill positions are slow. Kaolin Clay, Joe Webb - a lot of ex-Panthers. 3. They didn't inherit a disaster, they opted to eat dead cap. Dareus didn't have to be traded, neither did Watkins, neither did Darby, neither did Glenn. They didn't have to ask Incognito to take a pay cut. Clearly they put focus on phasing out Doug Whaley. Now you've got to convince FA's to come to this offense. 4. Nix ended the Bills constantly letting their best players walk by resigning Steve Johnson. Fans will point to the pile of money next season and draft picks. But those things are not unique to the Bills. Other teams will have money, and draft picks, and the Bills will have to convince good players to join their offense. McCoy is slowing down at 30, Charles Clay is 29. 5. You listen to McDermott speak about his ideal offense. Sorry, it sounds like Army in 1914. Running the ball with physicality in snowy Buffalo. How about making big plays happen, having a fast team. Instead its the cliche's about playing smart, respecting the football (even though the QB you love doesn't do that), even though our team has constant false starts and pre-snap penalties. Nothing about McDermott and Beane's team building looks congruent, thought out. Now we're signing a 35 year old who was on vacation and a week later he's starting now. 6. To me, it's clear, McDermott and especially Beane, have their heads in Carolina. I think Allen is here because he looked like Cam Newton. The day after the draft Beane on an WGR interview referenced Cam Newton by name when describing all the reasons Allen was drafted.
  15. It's not stupid just because you don't agree. McDermott approaches the game almost the same way. Ride the running game, run clock, punt and play field position, ride the defense, and hope to win the turnover battle. When the Bills lose, its the Dick Jauron playbook - Watch tape and correct mistakes, throws he'd like to have back, delicate balance. The bedrock is McDermott is a conservative defensive minded Head Coach. Jauron was the same. Both loved the lunchpail guys, both overly obsessed with Special Teams.
  16. Honestly, what if the Bills bucked convention and drafted another QB? Especially if Allen gets back in this season and is still not impressive. Anderson will not be here next year, and neither will Peterman if our Coach is being honest. Honestly, what if the Bills bucked convention and drafted another QB? Especially if Allen gets back in this season and is still not impressive. Anderson will not be here next year, and neither will Peterman if our Coach is being honest. He got the gift start in San Diego, and threw 5 picks. Managed the game effectively against the Colts. Came in against Jacksonville and immediately threw a pick (on an outside throw). Once it became apparent that McCarron plays like Matt Cassel and checks down relentlessly, why would the Bills waste time with Peterman? I was in favor of Allen starting immediately. It always made sense that after giving up Glenn, #12, #53 and #56 that he needed to be the only focus of the organization.
  17. McDermott is Dick Jauron in the way he approaches the game. Do you have faith that him and Beane understand how to build a successful offense? Based on their drafting, trades and free agent acquisitions I don't see any evidence of that. He talks offense like a defensive coordinator. Hopefully we can build the 2013-2015 Seahawks here and hold teams to under 15 ppg, or else we're not going anywhere.
  18. They look dejected. Nate Peterman cost them another game. Hence the report about losing the locker room. Hyde and Poyer were visibly upset too. Unfortunately, McDermott believes in the Jauron way of life. Ride defense and hope the other team makes a mistake.
  19. The book on Allen is far from closed. But is anyone surprised that an Honorable Mention from the Mountain West who had documented red flags is playing a lot like his Scouting Reports? He's been scatter shot on the accuracy, can't consistently read a defense, feels some phantom pressure, etc. He had 650 passing attempts in college. Baker Mayfield had 1500.
  20. 4.95, 25 year old Derek Fine in the 4th. One of the worst Bills draft picks I’ve ever seen.
  21. Not once did I say Allen was benched. Watching Derek Anderson play does next to nothing for Allen in my opinion. You either are good or you’re not. In general, my problem is the Bills have been so bad, for so long, the organization sells fans hype for run of the mill things, if not dysfunction. A guy who was retired on a family vacation is now a mentor to Josh Allen. Sorry McBeane, that’s not something to celebrate. And fans trip over themselves to constantly give praise and credit for no results. Three cheers for a career 54% passer with a 1:1 TD to Interception ratio.
  22. This is another washed up ex-Panther that Beane and McDermott have brought in here. Today McDermott was talking about how Allen was going to learn how to conduct himself at a walkthrough. I just don't think it makes the slight bit of difference.
  23. I agree with this. A quarterback like Ken Dorsey comes to mind. Couldn't play in the NFL, had a weaker arm that Nate Peterman. But, could teach the game. Now, I don't think it makes a hill a beans difference. You can either play or you can't. James Hardy was going to soak in all the knowledge he could from Terrell Owens, Ryan Mallett studied under Tom Brady, all the former Patriots Coaches who left Belichick and could not recreate the magic - Crennel, Mangini, Weiss, McDaniels.
  24. I like these questions. 1. $14,180.67 2. Yes, I hope Kyle Williams comes back for one more year. 3. Yes, on pace for 1,968 4. Learn from the Cleveland Browns. Always take the elite talent or you end up playing against that elite talent for 10 years. 5. No. When McDermott as introduced as Coach he said he wanted to run the ball in snowy Buffalo. Beane's trades and FA acquisitions on offense speak to a GM whose head is in Carolina. They don't want a top flight offense built on passing the ball. They want field position, punts, waiting for other teams to make mistakes. 6. There is no one else of value. Andre Holmes is a fringe NFL player on his last legs, and Foster/McCloud have no upside. They need a complete turnover of the whole group.
