  1. I agree with you and again have said that multiple times in this thread. They get 2018 and 2019 on the basis of the 2017 Playoff birth. But three things: 1. That Playoff birth is not a shining beacon. They scored 3 points in a game that was easily winnable. Not a feat of Coaching. 2. McDermott's mindset on offense is from 1941. And I don't think that talent is the only thing we have to overcome with his regime. Its his ultra-conservative nature. 3. It's early and maybe I'm wrong, but my gut says McDermott is Dick Jauron 2.0, and Josh Allen who was a project out of Wyoming will bust out the league because he can't read a defense. IF Always IF. We have nothing in the hand. We have a pretty good defense after two years and the worst offense that Football Outsiders has tracked in 33 years worth of data. Again, they weren't saddled with $50MM in dead cap. They created it themselves for culture. Rams got the best young offensive Coach in the league, hit on their #1 overall QB, play in LA, and aggressively traded for defensive talent. Are we on the way to becoming the LA Rams under Sean McDermott and Brian Daboll?
  2. So this is all a plan? A master mind plan? So they knew Peterman would suck? What's the goal of this? A Top 5 pick to use on a WR who isn't worthy of it in this Draft class? To enter the FA WR market with hardly any good WRs available and convince them to come to a Buffalo offense scoring 10 ppg?
  3. You blast jrober38 for not having an answer to your question, meanwhile you don't have a real answer for his relevant question: What have you seen from Beane and McDermott that tells you that they understand NFL offense in 2018 based on the decisions they've made in their first 24 games? All you point to is hope, and be patient. What specifically can you point to?
  4. Nope. I don't want him anywhere near the Bills and I supported the idea of him getting an interview years ago. But he made power moves in Oakland and Cleveland and has been fired twice.
  5. There's nothing really. There was a thread going around awhile ago documenting all of the FA/Trades to this team. Not one good player on there - Boldin, Coleman, Streater, Kerley, Clay, Brown, Tolbert, etc, etc. And for the fans who keep using the Eric Wood/Richie Incognito thing. Wood retired in January, there was time to rectify. The Bills tried to force Incognito to take a pay-cut. So his anger towards the Bills was not out of the blue. And Beane / McDermott wanted it that way. They chose this path. And now are banking on 10 picks (double picks start 4th Round and lower) in the Draft to repair this offense.
  6. You would give him time if what you got was a team that made some big plays happen, scored some points, buy also had some bad turnovers. You would expect mistakes mixed in with some creative plays, some plays that worked. You'd expect bad penalties at the wrong times, followed by a laser over the middle for 25 yards. We don't get that. We get a Coach who talks about snowy Buffalo, running the ball, field position, 3rd-Manageable, being physical, blue collar (as a compliment to Buffaloians).
  7. Here is an example of something I said a couple of pages ago....
  8. WRONG. IN THIS THREAD I'VE REPEATEDLY SAID: "They got to the Playoffs in 2017, so they get 2018 and 2019."
  9. Well our Coach did say that he regrets the result of the decision to start Peterman over Tyrod, so you're right, at this point nothing will change our owners mind. They've gone silent, Beane hasn't been in front of mic in forever speaking about the state of the team. They wanted a more polished front man and they got wanted they wanted. Someone who will read from the cue cards. The same GM that tells you after they trade Watkins, Dareus, Darby that they are trying to win now and compete in the future, has now secretly masterminded a 2018 tank job to get a high pick in 2019? Nope. This is an attempt to shame me. Not going to work. I'm bringing up relevant facts. You seem to always defend the Bills, no matter the results. At 2-6, 10 ppg offensively, a 35-year old QB out of retirement, and a Coach who is a CD player set to repeat, I think the fans deserve better.
  10. Who was the can't miss blue chip prospect? I hope you're not talking about Allen. He was far from "can't miss" Yeah joe, keep laughing it up. This is so funny. 2-6 and scoring 10 ppg now in 2018. Haha and hehe.
  11. Too bad that in America John From Riverside doesn't get to dictate to people the definition of being a fan. He doesn't get to legislate who is a fan and who isn't according to how he wants to be a fan. You're happy with this, keep clapping. For others, pointing out observable/specific things that bother them with this team is part of a realistic discussion about the nature of the team. The absolute fans will always point to - they need more time. They said it with Jauron, they said it with Gailey and so on. The answer is always give them more time.
  12. Bandwagon. You have to be kidding me? That lady they showed last night, praying that the Bills could score a single TD, and her head dropping when Anderson (now 6 turnovers in 2 games) throws a brutal pick-6. Yeah its the fans who are bandwagoners. When is this franchise ever held accountable? Nope, drag out old 1992 legends and keep pretending. When in doubt, get Jim Kelly to shake some hands, call out Chris Berman to give a speech.
  13. Believe me, I can't/don't envision Sean McDermott holding a Lombardi over his head. But I think that's why he isn't fired yet. The Bills continually change their HCs looking for the quick answer and so its Pegula's reputation in the league that further takes hits if he fires McDermott. Like FA WR's you have to convince some offensive mind (knowing the Bills they'll go after Mike McCoy or Norv Turner) and spin that as a brilliant OC mind like they did on the defensive side of the ball with Dave Wannstedt.
  14. This is an accurate assement. As fans we're getting excited when Andre Holmes is catching passes. A fringe NFL special teamer is our 3rd WR. We are expected according to Chris Brown to get excited that Zay Jones has 6 catches for 55 yards like it means something in the NFL in 2018. Its his answers, but also the philosophy he thinks wins in the NFL. He really thinks that lining up and imposing your physical will (with LeSean McCoy) works in the NFL over a 16 game schedule in the NFL. Like that really will beat the LA Rams when they go 3-wide 95% of the time. That lining up in the I, or running toss sweeps late in the 3rd quarter against the New England Patriots (scoring 38+ ppg for 4 straight games now) is going to work.
  15. I just wish there was more insight, more thought than you the fans have to eat poop and someday we'll be winning big. Eat this poop because building a culture takes time and don't you worry, our elite culture will meaningfully differentiate us from the rest of the league and will pay off with winning. We're building this thing and learning how to win with a young team.
  16. Only because you don't want the Bills to be the Cleveland Browns and fire GM's and HC every two years. They made the Playoffs in 2017 and so they get 2018 and 2019. But they need an offensive consultant.
  17. They have 2019 and that's it. You trot Allen out there with this "revamped" offense and he's still struggling, we're getting blown out. See ya McDermott and Beane.
  18. Tear an offense down to nothing. And replace one piece, the Quarterback with a QB that was marginal at Wyoming. That's it. Cut your WR signing (Kerley) and trade (Coleman) and best UDFA (Foster).
  19. Remember when Tom Modrak talked about the "jump" players make from Year 1 to Year 2 like it was a given? I remember an interview about Chris Ellis (3rd Rounder VT 2007/2008) and how he would just keep improving and improving. This is never a given in this league. How did practice time work for T.J. Graham?
  20. 30th in average age. And Derek Anderson didn't help this. https://www.phillyvoice.com/ranking-nfl-teams-age-after-53-man-cutdowns-2017-edition/
  21. Correct, you have to convince WR and TE and RB FA's to come to Buffalo and play with Josh Allen. When Rick Dennison was already fired, when Brian Daboll has the offense at 10 ppg. In a division that the Patriots are ruling again. You're coming to them with poop and selling it as filet mignon. Here, look into McDermott's eyes and get excited about studying tape and working really hard......get excited about 3rd and manageable and field position!!!!
  22. Because that's the fan's only window to how the guys that run our football team really think. The only glimpse into what goes on behind those doors. What is the logic in their decision making? We don't get to have a beer with Brandon Beane at the bar and talk strategy. These guys make millions of dollars to be smarter than common fans and build a winner. Right now they're fielding an offense that is scoring 10 points per game.
  23. Bill Belichick gets the benefit of the doubt. He is a proven winner. He has the shield of Tom Brady. Bills fans need to stop pointing out the first ballot HOF exception. That Brady was a 6th Rounder so Peterman could work, and that Belichick was stoic so its okay that McDermott is an answering machine stuck on repeat.
