  1. Allen is either going to be good or not based on himself. Not based on whether Derek Anderson or Matt Barkley teaches him.
  2. The only game Tyrod would have turned in the Bills favor is Houston. And if we played the Vikings 10 times, we’d beat them what? 2 times?
  3. I don’t know why fans keep pushing this narrative that the FO “knew” it was going to be like this, that they planned on the offense being bad, that they weren’t going all in to win. The GM says in every interview that they are always trying to win, that he won’t let tanking happen on his watch and that he didn’t plan on having the worst offense in the league. Bottom line you cant spin this as some sort of positive. Beane and McDernott will need to show a big jump in 2019.
  4. That’s what team doctors are supposed to do. Assess the realistic chance he reinjures the elbow. If they clear him, he’s in.
  5. Who is Matt Barkley though? A 4th Round pick from the terrible 2013 QB class, a guy with 10 TDs and 18 Ints. He’s started what? A dozen or so games. All of those things you list, couldn’t our offensive Coaches do that? Couldn’t Barkley do that from he sideline? Watching tape is something the Bills should be good at because McDermott talks about it every week. It doesn’t make any sense to bench Allen for Matt Barkley on the “learning” basis. He’s the 7th overall pick who Beane traded Glenn, #12, #53 and #56 for. He has to play. And if watching and learning is real, then he has had 4-5 weeks to watch tape before the Jags with 35 year old Anderson and Barkley and Coaches, so he should be noticeably better.
  6. Ok, well McDermott said he’s our starter, which means in his mind Allen is ready right now.
  7. How is Barkley helping Allen again by starting? Barkley starts against the Jags and plays well, Allen is sitting watching him and learning how to play better? Doesn't it make sense that if Allen is going to work out, I doesn't hinge on whether he learns enough from Matt Barkley, who himself is an NFL journeyman backup? Eventually Allen is going to have to go back into starting lineup. We can chase the new QB who showed up off the street, or we can get on with figuring out whether Beane's handpicked QB can play, and thus whether the plan Beane keeps talking about is worth anything. How can the FO have any credibility left if they go out and start Barkley because he can teach Allen how to win? The logic doesn't make any sense here.
  8. Let's go back to the well one last time with the old legends. Hey Thurman, Jim, Bruce, Andre - Can you get out there and endorse this kid one last time for us. Andre, we'll retire your number if you come back and say good things about the Coach and team.
  9. Are the Browns getting crushed because Baker took Tyrod's job. No, they aren't. Why? Because the Browns just had the biggest win in their franchise since 2008.
  10. Barkley was on a street, 3 weeks ago. No Bills fan was pitching the idea of signing him. Now he's earned his shot. So much so, that fans now want the Bills to veer off their plan to start Allen so they can see what "Barkley can do" ? I swear Buffalo fans have this underdog complex. Just hoping beyond hope that scrap pile guys, the forgotten, can come out of nowhere and win in this league. Disagree completely. Matt Barkley is not important. Just like Nate Peterman the 5th Rounder wasn't important, just like Derek Anderson a career backup wasn't important. The 22 year old that the GM had to have is the franchise's plan.
  11. When will you know definitively that he's ready? What indicator light illuminates that tells you its time?
  12. Nobody said that. That's you embellishing to make some point about Bills fans being impatient. (Even though any QB that has left Buffalo over the years, never resurfaced in the league as a great player.......)
  13. New England beat Kansas City 43-40 a month ago. I'd wait and see how this year plays out. Gronk's injuries are starting to take their toll, Edelman missed 4 games, Michel has been hurt to the point they are starting a WR at RB. All of that may not explain away the dip in the numbers, but the Patriots are the only team that outgunned the Chiefs so far.
  14. Bills must have watched the tape and determined that the team needed more speed on the field. Murphy playing some, McKenzie, Foster, Thompson, all are moves aimed in that direction.
  15. After Baltimore it was obvious that the Bills lacked speed. So I think the best you could do is what the Bills are doing now: bringing in younger players at the wide receiver position. I always would have moved McCoy into the slot more often and got Murphy onto the field, again, speed and youth.
  16. Okay all those links are columnists extrapolating one comment from McDermott about it being a fluid situation and McCarron/Peterman getting to start with the ones at the beginning of Training Camp and adding their own opinions on Allen’s readiness. Regardless, the Coaching Staff and FO moved Allen up the depth chart as camp went along and he started the third preseason game. None of it matters, the cat is out of bag, you can’t unsee Allen as the starter and so he’s back in as soon as he is able.
  17. Did the Coaches ever say that publicly? Did McDermott or Beane ever come out and say the plan is to sit Josh Allen?
  18. Except for one thing: 1. The Bills traded Glenn, #12, #53 and #56 to get Josh Allen.
  19. I think this in on the optimistic side. Will the Bills be consistent the rest of the year? Even when they lose, will their offense be competitive?
  20. We won’t know the answer to that question until Josh Allen becomes our starter. So far, no they don’t know what they are doing.
  21. He’s 12-14 as a Coach. You’d like to see consistent competitive football the rest of the year with Allen starting.
  22. Congratulations to the Bills on the win. In terms of benefit of the doubt, I would think the goal should be to get Allen out on the field again, and making this offense competitive in every remaining game. This is a good write up, thanks. And something to note in the offseason. The Bills would be smart to continue building the defense, adding DE, OLB and CB. Of course, WR, OG, TE are the highest priorities, but smart additions on defense will continue adding depth to the team.
  23. Normally Damien Woody and Teddy Bruschi and Bill Cowher show up on set and expect to be right, they expect the Steelers and Patriots to just crush everyone, and they have their tired jokes all lined up. But it’s nice when once in awhile the almighty analysts get their noses rubbed in it.
