Poyer is "Not Expected to Play"
Straight Hucklebuck replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills are treating this as a bye week -
Miami hasn’t won anything since 1972. Dolphins fans really think Tua is going to out duel Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Jackson when it matters Playoff time?

Micah to IR (out for the year per his agent)
Straight Hucklebuck replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Might be up to Beane to make a trade. I agree with others who have said that we’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of our safeties, but I think we knew this day was coming. -
Micah Hyde seeking 2nd opinion on neck injury
Straight Hucklebuck replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
2nd opinions are usually for bigger items, like the player wants surgery and team wants rehab or vice versa. -
As long as the Bills continue what they started last year putting Singletary as the overwhelming starter, only using Moss as breather. Maybe James Cook will be good, but right now he's not better than Diggs with the ball in his hands, or Gabe Davis getting open, or Allen making plays, so its a secondary development goal, just like the Bills did the other night, running out the clock in the 4th-Quarter with him in a blowout. As long as Singletary/Moss doesn't trend towards a 50/50 split, I'm happy with the amount we run.

Does any part of you miss the losing?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't miss anything about what the Bills became from Tom Donahoe on. With Tom Modrak running drafts from Florida, Jim Overdorf cutting players without the GM or Coach knowing, "promoting from within" or "cash to cap" strategy, picking through other team's backup or retired Quarterbacks to try and find your starting QB, hiring Coaches that just got fired somewhere else or were out of the league, having marketing guys acting as your GM, cancelling halftime ceremonies because there would be too much booing, having your GM say they would be asleep when Free Agency starts, always hand ringing when the next young player's contract was up, no more brokering deals with Toronto to make the Buffalo area "viable". The Bills were in the league in name only before 2017. -
Jared Goff did one of these too at DII or DIII school. Purpose misthrows at the beginning of practice, had guys starting to talk smack on the sidelines, then started ripping throws. I want more guys to do this.

I don't have any problem with that ranking. Tyreek Hill has immediately gone in there and produced, he wasn't just some New York Knicks giving an over the hill veteran big name a token contract.

First impression: James Cook
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the Bills have the right idea. You can put him in the slot or outside twice a game and see if you can find a mismatch. That’s about all he can handle right now. Like others have said, Singletary is our best running back, Moss should never see the field, and neither should James Cook really. -
It happened when he tried to take off full speed and run.

Bills at least should have their full offense available for Miami. Phillips pulled up lame on the Milano interception return and fell over. Looked like a hamstring.

AFC East Will Be Not A Given
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Ross Murdock's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, and his throw to Geisicki for the TD threaded the needle as well. -
AFC East Will Be Not A Given

We have to avoid the Baltimore-esque breakdowns in coverage. Waddle and Hill were so wide open that even Tua was able to get the ball to them. -

They have two sub-4.3 WRs. We've experienced the pain of Tyreek Hill numerous times. If the Defensive Line comes back intact for next Sunday, I think grinding Tua into a pulp will mitigate those two speed demons greatly. -
Especially with Swift being concussed and generally not impressive his first couple of years in the league. Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay leave, and St. Brown comes in and is better than both of them, and Chark looks like a FA hit.

I think my takeaway is there are several teams in this league that can't score. Carolina, Pittsburgh, Bears, Texans, Broncos, Patriots, Cowboys, Bengals. It is painful watching Seattle try to play NFL Football now. The Colts have to be wondering what happened? The Browns are bad again, struggling against poor teams. It looks like a league of have and have nots - but the Bills, Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles, heck even the Lions, are able to score.
