Khalil Shakir is just warming up..
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
As long as the Bills coaching staff decides to play him. We've got a history of not letting rookies outshine old veterans. -
Beane is smart. We've seen two years in a row, this WR group fall apart at the wrong time. In 2020 it was Beasley and John Brown hobbling, and Davis hurt against the Ravens. In 2021, Beasley was out of gas, Sanders was useless, and Diggs was shut down, leaving Gabe Davis. So take no chances, if Beckham or Chase Claypool are available, of course, he needs to be looking into it. Diggs - Davis - Claypool - Shakir is better than Diggs - Davis - Shakir - McKenzie.

How did Allen not dominate in college?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wasn't it Bleacher Report or The Athletic that said Allen working would fly in the face of every scouting report ever done before, or defy all analytical methods for him turning out good? It's an amazing story, immense potential fully realized (assuming Allen is close to his peak). Okay college production, remote D1 program, and injuries to now dominating the NFL. I can't think of many, because even Jalen Hurts at Alabama was replaced, but you could have seen this level of output because he was productive in college as a runner and passer and started at major D1 schools. To some degree, Dak Prescott wasn't thought of as a great college thrower, but he was a productive runner and passer in college in terms of the numbers and Mississippi State was competitive with the SEC when he was there. You have your smaller school players who have been better than anticipated: Garoppolo, Zappe. Davis Mills is interesting, the scouting community (Greg Cosell) has been his advocate, he didn't have much college production at Stanford. EJ Manuel was a combination of a weak QB class, a desperate GM, the Seminoles were a 10-win team when he was there, and he was the 6'4" prototype. Vince Young got the bump from the 2006 National Championship game, beating the stacked 2006 USC Trojans with Leinhart and Bush in a nail-biting game. -
It will be interesting seeing the difference Fenton and McDuffie would make. The Bills also are set to get Tre White back.

Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
We're past locker room cancer concerns as a team. We have Josh Allen on offense and Von Miller/Jordan Poyer/Micah Hyde on defense setting the culture. We're a 5-1 football team on a mission. -

Claypool is 6'4" 238 and ran a 4.40. With Josh Allen, I have to believe that production goes up and our culture seems to insulate these guys. -

Would Claypool be better than Shakir or McKenzie? I think he would and he would add size. -
PFF grades from KC...(for what they're worth)
Straight Hucklebuck replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haven't look at the grades, but I can't believe that Damar Hamlin had a good grade. He was in the picture frame on both of Smith-Schuster's busted catch and runs. -
Did we just teach the NFL how to defend against KC?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Other teams just go in and score on the Chiefs. So, the Raiders went in and scored 29, and really should have had 30. The Chargers put 24 on them without Keenan Allen. I do think the Bills tend to play very tight against Kansas City. But against the Chiefs we get a lot of how to solve Steve Spagnuolo, blitzes, physical corners, and you're going to hear the line they didn't have Fenton, McDuffie, Gay on the field. So, the Bills may have a harder time still moving the ball the next time around. -
Bills vs Eagles. Who is #1?
Straight Hucklebuck replied to unbillievable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Give it to the Eagles right now. They're 6-0 so they're the best. -
Yes his eyes are dropping down to the backs. Surtain all over Mike Williams.
-
For sure the pressure from the right side decreased with Q. Brown was getting whipped.
-
Broke the cornerback's ankles then hurdled their starting strong safety, and picked up the first down. Just got dunked on.

I think the Bills are kind of like last year. This is certainly the best Allen ever. But the Bills have all sorts of smaller projects on the offense: 1. Shakir playing time verses McKenzie 2. Right Tackle if Spencer Brown is really hurt 3. 3rd-1, 4th-1 situations 4. James Cook integration, if any 5. Red Zone TD %

Studs and Duds: AFC Teams after 6 Games
Straight Hucklebuck replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Herbert verses the Denver defense will be interesting. In his career, he has been consistent, you're going to get ~300 yards and 2 TDs a game on 66%. They win tonight and they're 4-2. I would say the issue with them is they don't close games well. Maybe a bit like the Eagles, where their best ball is in the first-half. But they almost blew the Raiders game, almost let the Texans come all the way back, survived Cleveland. -
Ultimately this helps the Bills because it will push them to be better. But lo-and behold - the Jets invest in skill talent around a young QB, and they now are able to make plays, shocking that the Packers and 99-year old Randall Cobb can't score.
-
The Bills need to learn from their past personnel mistakes and elevate Shakir. In the past they made Singletary play behind Gore, Gabe playing behind John Brown and Emmanuel Sanders, and not phasing Cole Beasley out when he was clearly running on fumes late last season. I've been in support of McKenzie getting more time his entire tenure with the Bills, but I do think that Shakir is just bigger, and has the instincts. He needs more snap count.
-
The primary reason is, I believe he's mentally checking out. Also, the Packers are paying the price for continuing to draft defense every single year and not hitting with stars on those picks. It's been well publicized that the Packers do not draft skill position players in the 1st Round, and now they have no skill talent. Even with Adams, it was Adams and nobody else.

I just was running around the house screaming that is a HOF level play.

SNF- Cowboys @ Eagles
Straight Hucklebuck replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is the National Media going to drop that silly Cooper Rush is the same as Dak Prescott non-sense? The Cowboy met a real team and this is what it looks like.
