I believe they said Ike had an Achilles in college - other leg - he recovered and got his explosiveness back from that one - he can do it again. The worst part for him is that he is a UFA after this season. He loses out on a chance to sign and will most likely not be 100% to start the year. I would not be surprised to see the Bills offer him something to allow him to get healthy and come back during the season and maintain his rehab, but his current contract expires after this season.

That is what I thought also. The Pats switched things up constantly, but Josh had the answer each time. They played a lot of man, zone, and man/zone combos. They tried to trick and force Josh into some reads, but Josh did well - especially early to throw to outlets and move the chain. I think much like the Bills - the Pats rushed the passer in a specific way trying to maintain leverage on Josh, but Josh was the better player. The difference between game 1+2 was all weather. The Bills built a lead because Josh could throw early and often and that allowed them to score. The lead forced NE to become more balanced leading to TOs. The OLine for Buffalo played well, but not great - Josh was great. Dion (with a bit of help) held up well against Judon, but I think Judon was playing contain/spy sometimes - also helping. The middle still let guys like Barmore get through to often, but there was space for Josh to move and guys open.

Defense: let’s grade and comment your grade
Rochesterfan replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
WTF - then you are rooting for the wrong team troll. Considering they stopped them most of the game - I will take it every time. My goodness there are one ignorant people on this board now. What a downhill trend it has been. -
A Breakdown of the 31 yard run by Damien Harris
Rochesterfan replied to HoofHearted's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly and either way the “fan base” grades him a minus for doing his job correctly. Could it be better - yep, but unless there was a switch the hole was there for Johnson and Jackson to fill. -
A Breakdown of the 31 yard run by Damien Harris
Rochesterfan replied to HoofHearted's topic in The Stadium Wall
See - this is an issue - watching the actual play Edmund did not overrun the play. He fills his gap with the tackle. The issue is at the snap Johnson is moving to the middle of the field and he runs passed Edmunds - even with the WR coming down to block. The gap that was run through was his gap. When the WR looked to block down - then Dane Jackson playing a tail technique- should have been the fill - he was the unblocked defender led right to the hole by the WR. He recognized it to late and was passed. The front did fine - especially playside, but Phillips held up, but was moved enough to open the backside hole and the 2 CBs in Johnson and Jackson took themselves out of the play. They preach one of 11 and then when the guy covers his hole and allows a cut back - he gets blamed by people that have no idea what they are watching. Yes it would have been great if both Milano and Edmunds attacked that harder and faster and maybe closed down the holes a bit tighter or if Phillips had driven down into his block and not allowed the hole to open. If Edmunds had pursued less and been in the hole Damien eventually went through - a different hole would have been right where Edmunds was and the tackle would of had an easy block on Edmunds and Johnson. -
Mostly because you are looking at things after the fact and think that means you know something. You would be feeling totally different if we had retained Teller because he would of been cut after how bad he played in year 1 in Cleveland. He would never have fit with the offensive scheme in Buffalo. He blossomed finally under the run first offensive change with Stefanski. In Buffalo - he looks more like Feliciano or Ford than the Cleveland version of Teller because he is spending 80% of the game pass blocking - more passive than the Cleveland running attack. McKenzie was resigned as an afterthought when pretty much no one else in the league offered him anything as a FA. He has had 2 good games in 5 years in the NFL as a wideout. Last time he had a game like this against Miami - he got hurt and missed time and was limited. He is quick and fast and is capable of running some routes and if he continues to grow great, but I would not expect to see him repeat this much more. He is a chess piece that can be used, but he is not a Tyree Hill player. He is just another piece to be used in a game plan as needed.

Dion Dawkins on this play - amazing hustle
Rochesterfan replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed - hopefully Feliciano comes back and can be back-up center/inside guard and allow Bates to play guard the rest of the season. I think the best line was seen yesterday and you can interchange Ike and Bates. Ike a bit stronger, Bates more athletic. -
When Ike went down. They moved everyone but Morse. Dion to LT, Brown to RT, Williams to RG, and Bates to LG. Might actually be their best line with Ike for Bates.

GDT: Browns @ Packers, Christmas Day, 4:30 PM Eastern
Rochesterfan replied to RiotAct's topic in The Stadium Wall
And sometimes in Basketball it is a blocking foul - sometimes a charge, sometimes the hand play gets called sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes it is a travel and sometimes a player like LeBron can basically run a marathon without dribbling and still be fine. In Hockey, sometimes they call interference, or hooking and others time they don’t. Sometimes a guy gets cross checked from behind and punched in the head and they let it go in the crease, but two guy in the middle of the ice and it gets called. Baseball - Ball and strikes, safe and out, check swings, etc. English Football/Soccer - the diving to get calls is ridiculous, off sides to take away an advantage - it is very inconsistent. Anytime you have humans calling the game - you get inconsistent calls - even when you use other humans to look at the same play. You say he gained a slight advantage - I see the WR acting in a manner that created the contact and pushing off - both leading to the defenders play - to me that is the very definition of what should be a no call. There are clear call that get missed - see the Diggs play with his Jersey and under shirt 2 yards back and sometimes there are phantom calls like earlier Arizona game in the game where the defender (7) undercut and was called for PI and never touched him. It is a problem, but until we are all replaced by machines the solution is just another human that may or may not see it your way and therefore it will still be inconsistent. -

I still like it as a no call - watch the way at 5 yards People-Jones really leans into Douglas and then pushes off right at the break. He completely extends his left arm into Douglas right shoulder to try and gain separation. Does Douglas hold - yep, but I think you have just as much OPI going on with how the route was run. That to me is not blatant PI - that is allowing two guys to play each other. The offensive guy drove into him to maintain contact and pushed off. The defender grabbed the jersey, but didn’t pull him out of his break. The issue is what do you want as an outcome - Packers fans would be ticked if they called the flag to negate a game winning Int on a play the WR pushed off, the Browns are ticked it wasn’t called. I think that makes sense as a no call then. -

Agreed - the WR also pushed off - extended his arm completely - that lead to the hold. I could see illegal contact as they bumped the entire way, but was fine with the no call because of how the WR used his arm to try and get open. -

Agreed, but the WR also pushed off and extended his arm fully. I like the no call there as it easily could have been OPI before the defensive hold. -
[edit: Jaguars LB Josh Allen] tests positive for COVID-19
Rochesterfan replied to cv05's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whatever - I am not comparing a prank to death. I am saying posters could just as easily post the exact same “prank” using 100’s of other stories and they are no different. Why should one fake joke thread about Josh Allen having COVID be acceptable to you, but others not be? The threads should reflect what they are about and when troll posters use it just to get a rise then the Mods should close and or modify the title to reflect the actual content - just as they did. -
[edit: Jaguars LB Josh Allen] tests positive for COVID-19
Rochesterfan replied to cv05's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because you could do this all the time - for example a quick search pulled up a Josh Allen that was killed in a car crash in Iowa - would that be funny to start a thread with. It would be no more inaccurate as this, but would that make you laugh? Would you get worked up if a thread on the first page was about Josh Allen being killed in a car crash. How about a guy like Spencer Brown - I am sure with that name - we could find all sorts of articles about that people with that name. How about a nice article about Gabe Davis getting arrested in Washington state for gun charges? Starting a thread with a purposefully misleading title just to get fans worked up is sickening - especially when done by a straight up troll. The earlier one was at least by a legitimate poster, but that actually makes it more realistic. The idea should not be to fool your fellow posters, but to provide legitimate information. -
Good Lord - you guys are just insane with this garbage. He is just a fill in for Mike Love while out on COVID. He won’t even be here in 2 weeks and people are complaining about him versus Carlos Dunlop. 🙄

Since when can the booth reverse calls?
Rochesterfan replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was started this year - lots of discussion in the off-season. It is supposed to be only for very obvious issues - if there is something close, but not obvious on quick review and the coach wants to challenge- that is available. The issue is the coaches do not know if the review team has looked at it - so there have been multiple close plays where the coach has even pulled the challenge flag before being told that the guys looked and basically you are not going to win. Coaches also wait now to challenge to see if it will be reviewed and the refs have slowed down teams - if they are signaled that it is being looked at to prevent the up tempo snap from preventing the review. They need to do some fine tuning and do a better job communicating, but they have the right idea - they just need to keep moving it forward. -
Yes - the Bills did some “fun” games where they have guys do them for fun. We saw them before practice in the past do this. He had 2 or 3 guys that he knew could kick just practice a bit for emergencies. Guys he knew would be active. Just like he has Hyde ready for return duty if needed and McKenzie ready for CB duty if needed. This would not have happened the same way here - that is for sure. He would have a back-up holder ready and the punter to kick and a backup ready in case.

Notice when the win streak starts. The Dolphins get a bunch of mediocre teams right after the trade deadline passes and suddenly they get hot. The Owner, GM, and coach are all to blame for this season - as they handled the potential Houston QB trade so poorly and once that was taken off the table- stability took over and they started winning. Horrible job by that team. No leadership from the HC.

12/19/21 Gameday Bills vs Panthers Pregame Thread
Rochesterfan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dumbest post ever. Yes after this game the Bills are going to fire the HC they just gave a 6 year extension to and eat 5 years of contract. Why are we constantly punished with these posts. Over and over stupidity. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 -
A starting level CB is available.. Breeland

Not a good guy and no longer a great player. My guess is he signs a deal in TB or KC and barely sees the field. -
I think that weather as an experience is so over rated that the NFL has chosen to not play the most important game in an place that weather is a factor. Last night was not a good game. There was very little to watch and enjoy as basically it was reduced to 2 teams trying to run the ball and 1 team actually trying to make plays when the wind was behind them. If weather was truly an important part of football as some suggest - then the Super Bowl would move around through high population Northern cities like Chicago, NY, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, but it doesn’t. The NFL recognizes for the best experience and the best game the Super Bowl should be played in the best conditions to provide the best experience for fans and players. Therefore places like SD and Jacksonville get Super Bowls and even Minnesota and Detroit in cold weather cities over NY and Chicago.
-
This is stupid. 95% of the games are played either indoors or in good weather. Weather is so important that all but 1 Super Bowl has been played in great weather stadiums or domes.

Some people do like to watch a snow game, but it doesn’t drive any ratings because the TV market is set well before the game starts. Within the market the snow games have not really been shown to increase viewership in any data sets I have seen and it does tend to decrease the attendance as travel to and from the game is impacted. I personally prefer to sit in snow versus other precipitation (rain/sleet/etc), but at this stage of my life - I prefer something we have not seen this year at home - sunny, warm, dry, and nearly no wind.

SNF: Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
Rochesterfan replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Baker is an issue - he has had the same HC and OC last year and this year and he struggled early last year and then when OBJ went down and they basically went full run attack, 3TE, and complete a few passes - he looked good. Baker is not close to Top 5 - he is much closer to bottom 5 in the NFL and right now is easily the worst starting QB in that division. That has not worked well this year and with his injuries - Baker is a huge problem - and to prove that point a second player’s parent has come out and questioned what Baker can do. Even if under the guise of injury - that is a bad look. TE to me is interesting - they have 3 capable guys that they are paying huge money to, but Hooper has to be looked at as a huge disappointment for the contract, Njoku has basically become the deep threat, but is super inconsistent, Bryant when healthy might be the best, but basically that group has become a blocking trio to make the run game go. They are the focal point of a subpar offense. WR is a disaster, but I don’t think it matters - The offensive game plan is a ton of 13 personnel with 1 WR and when needed supplemented with 2 TEs and 2 WRs. They don’t open an offense up - so it is hard to get any WRs in a rhythm. The entire team is underperforming as shown by the threads before the season where many on this board thought they and the Ravens would battle for the #1 seed. A lot of that is people completely mis-understanding the talent level on that team. -
Lil Dirty - Benched (update - He’s back and better than ever)
Rochesterfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
As you said - there is a different mindset inside the 15, but the same gets said for the odd start outside the 35. It is like the change once a team gets their first - first down on a drive. Don’t just look at the negative side - with your example there is a positive side also. Both should be considered.
