  1. Heard it live on the radio, but I am sure it will be on Audacy soon. I thought it was funny as I switched hoping to hear about the Giants GM info and get a huge rant to start the show. 😂
  2. What everyone else has said - plus the NFL plays as many intra-divisional games the last 2 weeks as possible and anyone that follows the schedule should know that. The last 2 weeks will most likely be 2 games against either the NYJs, Miami, and/or NE. The NFL has done this for years and it is well established because those games tend to mean more and be closer - so it even gives teams that are out of it or clinched a reason to play.
  3. Exactly - we went through the retractable roofs and even in good weather they are never open. Atlanta built that weird roof and it is always closed. Dallas, Houston, Indy - are they ever open for a game. Retractable roof is just a waste. The new material is so much better and let’s in natural light. Give me that 100%.
  4. Except the last 2 times they have played us - they are playing Nickle with 3 safeties much of the time. They are using Matthieu as a spy/hybrid LB to increase coverage and allow more defensive variations. The teams that beat KC force them into more base packages and then exploit the LBs and the Safeties from base. I think Knox and Gilliam could be huge for that.
  5. I agree - he had some moments in the past and his best fakes have always been like the Doyle TD - get the ball on you hip, back to defense and roll out. His ball handling has gotten so much better that even wearing white sleeves - he faked out the defense several times - to the point on one play Judon only finally reacted when Spencer Brown looked back to figure out where Josh was headed to set up his next block. Judon was trying to run through Brown to get to the RB as Josh rolled past him. I believe that was on the pass to Knox. Josh had a 30 yard run looking at him and Knox running behind JC Jackson. The pass ended up being a closer play only because Jackson looked back just before Josh threw it. You make the pass because you can see JC was not looking back, but just as he was setting up - JC glanced back and came within a couple of inches of knocking the ball down, but what a play call late, up big, play action and hit a deep route - guts all around.
  6. Third and maybe most important of all. #3 - Josh performs similar action - even if he hands the ball off. The first two are important and his fake is really good, but the key is that he runs play action moves even when he hands it off on those types of plays. It is critical because some QBs only carry out that motion when they have the ball and it signals to key defenders - Safeties and CBs and cover LBs exactly what is coming one step earlier. Josh carries through the action sell bootleg even when handing off and it adds that extra piece to be even more successful.
  7. That is very true and in college at Alabama- these guys have 5⭐️ Recruits at WR going against lower level competition. I will say that I was darn impressed with the Mac and Cheese boys throw as it was spot on the WR (did not think he had it in him to get it that far) and what scares me a bit about it - is that if he had had a WR on the other side with an in cut or something deeper and pump faked away - that might have been a TD. He pump faked to the same side as the throw - so didn’t move the safety with his eyes or motion - and there was only the 1 deep route giving Hyde only 1 player to stay deeper than. Mac’s arm strength is just so limited he has to loft the ball at a much higher angle and it takes much longer to arrive compared to Josh, but his accuracy on the throw was actually better than the spot Josh put his. I also think that was just about the absolute limit of what Mac can throw right now in his career. If you replace Mac with Josh on that play and he throws his ball - there is no way the Safety can get there - the ball gets there to fast - we have seen that first hand over and over. The problem is the placement of Josh’s ball is about 2 yards to short as Sanders had to slow down - allowing the NE DB to get the hit. That same throw with where Wallace was on the play may get batted down by Wallace as he was about 2 steps behind running in stride. The difference in Arm talent is night and day and the difference in pocket awareness and manipulation of safeties at this point is incredible because as was said - Josh makes teams defend every inch of the field and teams can’t cheat on routes. The throws into tight windows - like the TD pass to Knox - thrown with anticipation and awareness of play design is just other worldly and is not something Mac Jones could do at this point.
  8. Totally agree. Besides arm talent - the biggest difference was the route combos. The Pats couldn’t pressure Hyde deep - so he was keyed on the WR and the pump fake to that side did not move him - just held him a second. The Bills had a deep post/over route to occupy the safety. The results speak for themselves. Better Arm and better Route won.
  9. This ⬆️. He is a highly skilled, mobile player. A bone bruise of the heel basically eliminates 75% of his game and their game plan. A QB that is a straight pocket guy like Brady or Ben - bouncing on their toes and just standing back there from shotgun is totally different than the multidimensional player and if Jackson could not be himself and Harbaugh felt it could hurt the team - let him sit. I feel exactly the opposite about Baker - why did they keep trotting him out when week after week it was obvious the injuries were holding the team back and you paid good money for a back-up familiar with the system and the coaches. That was a David Carr-esqe season for Mayfield that could potentially set him, the team, and that fan base back and force a re-boot.
  10. I think what he is saying - based upon where teams were at the mid-point - specifically Arizona at 8-1 - they were the biggest disappointment at this time. They were the best team in football and to end up as a Wildcard 1 and done is pretty disappointing.
  11. Depends upon the timing: 1. Based upon pre-season expectations - Cleveland was the biggest disappointment. Many people both in the media and on this board had them as the best team in the AFC right there with KC. I thought they would compete for the division at least - didn’t think they were as good as us because their QB was not as good. 2. Once the season was a few weeks old - the Chargers looked like a lock. They pummeled KC and were 2 games up and Herbert looked legit. Over aggressive coaching and the defense falling apart brought them back, but man that was a way to talented team to miss the playoffs completely once you saw the QB continue his growth. Huge disappointment. 3. Late Season disappointment - Indianapolis - they went on a nice run through the mid part of the season - on the strength of the running game and defense, but to fold the last 2 weeks because your QB you traded a 1st for - could not make a single play. That was a massive disappointment for them. Even though it was Frank’s team and we love Frank - I was not sad to see them fail spectacularly like that.
  12. Because the O-line was set-up a full yard plus in front of where the side judge marked him down. If you watch the play - Dak starts his slide before the 26 yard line - you see pellets and his foot mark. The side judge marks that as his down point. Dak and the o-line set up on the 24 yard line. The official reaches in and tries to move the ball back (he actually can’t get the ball far enough - you see him reaching for the 25), but with the o-line and Dak in the way - he relents and moves it forward again and then has to move it out of the way. The official does the best to do his job quickly, but he can’t because of the poor job the Cowboys did. If you watch the side judge - he realizes what is happening tries moving to the new spot because he has to mark the LOS. Dak and the O-line were set incorrectly - again all on Dak at that point. Contrast that to if Dak had stood up and tossed the ball to that Ref coming up - he could have placed the ball on the 26 without having to fight through the line and got it set and moved out of the way and saved maybe 2 seconds. Even as it was they weren’t all set - the Refs could of just as easily thrown a flag and finished the game with a 10 second run off, but the clock had expired.
  13. Agreed, but did they practice it with an official that starts 12 yards behind the LOS and can’t be moving forward until the play is nearly done - or did McCarthy and Moore practice it exactly like they did it in the game - slide - get everyone lined up and spike it - cutting 3-5 seconds off. The former coaches on NFL radio - roundly criticized them for saying they practiced it and got it spiked with 1 second left. They were saying you never cut it that close - if a play gets you a spike with less than 5 seconds in practice - then you can’t run it in a game setting. It is a 50:50 mix in a live game.
  14. Additionally - you see the side judge marking the LOS at between the 25 and 26 yard line - where Dak started his slide. Dak hands the ball to the center and they are lined up at the 24 - not at the right spot. The Ref tries to move them back, but realizes it isn’t going to work and let’s them try to spike it to get the last play. The Refs did everything they could on the play to help facilitate getting off the spike because that is what the Refs do, but because Dak did not hand the ball to the Ref and because the OLine lined up with tight splits and finally because they lined up in the incorrect yard mark - you get the issue they had. It is 100% on Dak, the OC, and the HC that they didn’t get a play off. The worst part is that should all be ingrained - it was talked about in the post game, by former players and coaches. The consensus was you need about 17-18 seconds to comfortably get a play off in bounds and get a spike. The play also can not go more than 10 yards or you are pushing it because of the location of the back judge to spot the ball. Dak extended it to 15+ yards on the scramble, didn’t hand the ball immediately to the official running to mark it, lined his team up incorrectly, and then blamed the Refs. Terrible leadership and I hope the NFL fines and suspends him for his comments. That was disgusting - how he acted.
  15. It is disgusting that the fans would do that and hopefully they will be identified and they should be banned for life. What is even more disappointing is the reaction of some of the players - notably Dak that condemns it until he learns it was the Refs they were throwing at and then gives pseudo approval. The players that give this life and any approval should also face punishment- fines or even a suspension. They should condemn this to the fullest at all time. This also goes for Bill’s fans and players and the throwing of a sex toy on the field. That fan should be kicked out for life and the players should condemn it - even if funny. Dildos/beer bottles any of that stuff could easily hit someone doing their job and not facing the field and do harm/injury and it should be punished fully.
  16. I think you are way overthinking it. Many times in a created montage like this you are placing people based upon how they are angled to best fill space and see the numbers. The guys on the left have their bodies more left and the guys to the right have their bodies to the right. The exception is Bates and I think he was placed to balance out Gilliam. I don’t think there was internal viewpoint - I think it was quickly let’s put together a photo of the starters/big play guys on offense - who do we have and what photo - ok let’s start putting o-line at top ok who fits where. If you put them in the correct order their head positions and body positions would be way off and it would look funny. They tried to make it look somewhat natural.
  17. i just pulled it up and not only does he move it back - he recognizes that the slide started and the side judge was marking almost 1.5 yards further back, but the judge knows if he tries to move it that far time will definitely expire - so he actually favors the Cowboys and let’s them try to spike it almost 1.5 yards further up field than where he slide. The Ref actually helped the Cowboys and you are blaming him. Ridiculous.
  18. This isn’t college and he could see the spotting coming up. If the Cowboys spot it in the wrong place - shouldn’t he correct it? There is a reason that we’ll coached teams know that they immediately give the ball to an official. Every well coached team late in the game with the clock running - look for the officials and get the ball spotted ASAP. Dak was stupid and compounded the stupidity by not getting the ball to a Ref. They should not reward stupidity by changing the rules to suit a stupid situation that the offense created, No matter how many times you say they should.
  19. The line judge on the outside marks the ball and was exactly where Dak started his slide. The official has to mark it based upon where they guy is marking - the offense needed to hand him the ball and let him do his job. He had the spot to mark it and the clock should not be stopped because why should they get an advantage why they were stupid. If they have to stop the clock - it should be a 10 second run off - ending the game anyway.
  20. Terrible take. Everyone knows that the official has to spot the ball. He would of had time if he turned and handed it to the judge running up. The Judge had to try to get through the line - Dak and the line blocked him - it was 100% their fault. Additionally Dak and the center tried to spot the ball - you can see the line judge on the outside mark the spot and the judge has to move the ball to the spot. It was an incredibly stupid play call, but even worse job of Dak and the offense knowing the situation and what must be done. Fire McCarthy, but don’t blame the NFL or the Refs for Daks mistake.
  21. There was a hilarious part where Teddy said it was hard to watch his former team get an epic beat down and you hear Rex in the background say: ”No, No - it wasn’t”. I was dying.
  22. How throwing a 1 yard TD decreases your passing rating is literally insane. There are so many issues with passer rating and QBR that sometimes they cannot be used to tell the true story. They can give impressions of performance, but considering there have been perfect passing ratings in games where the QB was worse means they should not be used for true ranking of performance. A player like Eli got a 158.3 for a 8 for 10 game for 173 yards and 2 TDs - no way was that performance better than what JA did today, but there are some all time greats on the list.
  23. I totally agree with @GunnerBill about Chicago being to high based upon how they have drafted, but there must be more to it than having a lot of low level Jags drafted that start. That for 17 years was how the Bills drafted - our best guys were routinely 3rd through 5th and even UDFA’s that started and played a lot and therefore would appear better than average players at those rounds. The reason I think Chicago may be slightly different is other teams like that - NYJs for example - still grade out low. There must be a few Chicago players that are really driving the entire drafting AAV up - like an Eddie Jackson. I think this is a great exercise to begin discussions, but somehow higher round failures need to be slightly more magnified. You should not be considered really successful with a handful of day 3 guys over performing versus failing (or hitting) on multiple day 1 and 2 picks. I love the work though - really drives home the point.
  24. I would say maybe. I would interview him and the players, but I would want to do my due diligence and interview limited others and see what shakes free. I would replace him if a big time coach - Harbaugh for example breaks free, but would not replace him with a Dabol/Frazier/or series of other OCs that don’t call the offense. It does not matter to me win or lose - I just want to look at options before deciding Bisaccia is the future. I have no issues keeping him, but if an improvement is available- go for it.
  25. Terrible take. McD made the playoffs with Rex’s hand me downs and Tyrod. An above average coach wins with that roster. Flores is not that.
