Colts release Pierre Desir; signed by Jets
Rochesterfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, but that did not work out great for KJ as playing part time got him a 1 year 3.5 M deal in Cleveland. If he could surely beat out Norman and Wallace and would be the full time #2 - it would make sense, but splitting time is hard. I also think the CB1 gig in NYJ will cause some issues for him, but we will see. -

I get the signing - I think he would have been a much better fit in Buffalo’s Defense than Greggo’s D in NY, but he gets to be CB1 and a chance at FA again next year. In Buffalo - he was competing with Norman for the KJ role as Outside CB 3/4 with partial playing time. That role got KJ a puny 1 year 3.5M deal with Cleveland - so I truly understand the thought process. I just think if they ask him to be CB1 and play a bunch of man - he is going to be exposed. -
Dion Dawkins: LT/RT or Guard???
Rochesterfan replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man - I knew the virus was bad, but it really seems to be affecting Logic. So you do not want to a proven LT 45 million with 25 GTD, but you think we should look to move him elsewhere and then draft a replacement at the end of the second round. Great let’s spin the tires some more. 1st off - it really doesn’t matter where you move him LT/RT/Guard - basically at this point the top guys are getting paid nearly the equivalent salary. Top LTs are around 17 million, with the top RT exceeding that, guards are getting 15+ million - so you are paying him 3/45million with 25 GTD approximately whether you keep him at tackle or guard. So the real idea is don’t sweat it. Draft BPA - do not create un-needed holes and if the BPA is a Tackle prospect let him play and use that in your decision. If BPA is RB, WR, DE, etc - draft that and you still have Dion who is fine. No matter what you are paying Dion the same money or you are getting rid of him. -
You would think they would of learned from Bell. He lost a lot of money skipping a year and now Gordon is getting less than he was offered. RB is a difficult position to maximize your pay. Gurley did it and he just got cut. Zeke did it and the Cowboys are in cap hell like the Rams. At least Zeke is still healthy. Just hard to pay that position what it is worth.

Who Wins More Games in 2020 - Bucs or Pats
Rochesterfan replied to inthebuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, but it sounds like something Brady thinks he can still do. One of many reasons he wanted out. I think it ends poorly because I think the longer routes and weaker arm leads to more sacks and Ints for Brady - until they adjust the offense to his limitations. -
Who Wins More Games in 2020 - Bucs or Pats
Rochesterfan replied to inthebuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very hard to say at this time. Brady and the Bucs have way more offensive talent, but Arians loves high flying passes going all over - a la Winston, Palmer, etc. Big armed guys slinging it all over. Can Brady do that? He seems to believe he can and wants to prove it, but that to me means more QB hits and from what I saw last year - I am not sure his arm is up to it. Depending upon Brady’s arm and deep accuracy both of which I have begun to question, the Bucs could be anywhere from a 6 win to an 11 win team. The Pats offense looks bare, but they still support a top flight defense that has lost a few pieces - we will see if in the draft they can replace. Until we see a more complete roster - they could be anywhere from a 5 win to a 12 win team - I just don’t know. My best guess is that they are pretty close right around 8-8 and we see both can’t win without the other right now. -
What would an “All In” move be to you?
Rochesterfan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This ⬆️ - do not go all in like the Rams did because you end up in a bad place quickly. The Bills need to keep adding and building the team consistently and that will allow them to continue to be good even after you pay guys like Tre White and Allen. You go all in and then get one big injury -a la Gurley in LA - and everything falls apart super quick. Chicago tried going all in with Mack and that trade has not worked out either. -
Call me crazy...Antonio brown
Rochesterfan replied to pgrace245's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And this is the thread you wanted to start with. Why? Let him go to TB - I could not care less - as has been stated in the 20 other AB threads that you could have added to - he will face a big suspension if he is allowed back in and I do not care what team he is on - that will bring out the crazy and he will be lost before it starts. He can come clean the toilets at NewEra field, but I don’t want him touching the playing surface. -
Is Beane done with FA yes/no ?
Rochesterfan replied to Don Otreply's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering FA is just starting and teams are not even allowed to talk to XFL players yet - I am going to say no - they are not done. If you are asking if they are making another big splash- I would say no - I think it will mainly be low level - roster filling signings. A back-up RB, another OL guy, maybe another DB/safety depending on Norman - just guys to fill in the roster before the draft. -
Pats are gonna tank and bottom out
Rochesterfan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even the least bit worried so this - for where the Pats are picking 3 first round picks is not even close to move up to #1. If the Pats were drafting top 5 - I might be concerned, but dropping back to the 20’s - no happening. That would replace Bob as the worst trade by a long shot. -
I understand your concern about DEs, but in today’s NFL with quick short passes - you really need DTs that can get pressure and the Bills have that. I think McDermott wants his DEs to contain first and get after the QB second - maintain the pocket and let Oliver get after the QB and move him off his spot right to a DE.
-
Which is dumb because Houston is being universally mocked for making one of the worst trades in NFL history and the second round pick they got from Arizona is like 15 picks later - about half a round - plus a player that Houston coveted. Put it another way - we paid essentially the same as what Brandon Cooks has been traded for the last couple of years, similar to trades for guys like Randy Moss, Roy Williams, Peerless Price, Percy Harvin, etc. It is in line with the trade NE made with a #2 for Sanu just last year. Not sure what else to say - the deal is what it is and we got exactly what we needed.
-
First true FA still has not started and you fail to add the rest of the guys resigned already: Offense: Croom Long Foster Kroft restructured these are all since the Norman signing. We have lost back-ups: McKenzie and Gore on offense. Phillips, Shaq, Alexander, and unsigned guys like DB Kevin Johnson, Kurt Coleman and many more on defense.

Does this pretty much guarantee he will be injured this year? Seems the Chargers are always dealing with injuries.

Raiders sign 50yr old Jason Witten 1 yr $4.75M
Rochesterfan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe Gruden can teach Witten how to talk on TV and they can start a MNF crew together with Mike Mayock - when this is over. LOL ? -
Missing guaranteed money versus production. Addison got half the guaranteed money and basically a 1-2 year deal we can get out of to pay others versus Shaq that got significantly more Guaranteed money for less production and is stuck for 3 years even if he regresses.

Bills will NOT Tender Isaiah McKenzie - he is now a UFA
Rochesterfan replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got cut after fumbling multiple Punts in a game. We signed him back to the PS and a futures contract last year. -
The problem with this is that FA is not done and until we are up to the draft - it is hard to speculate on the BPA and need ratio. Right now they need more RB, DE, and LB depth and could use a young WR. All could be in play with the 2nd round pick. If they pick up Jordan Howard and/or another CB (Harris) or they grab another OT or LB as depth in the next few days - then the focus shifts to WR, DE, maybe a center. Beane is once again filling holes in FA and that allows him to truly draft the BPA on the board - regardless of position. Then it will be who is falling and where to draft him. Position is irrelevant- it will be the top tiered guy left and you can’t know that until the draft.

Bills re-sign Jason Croom to 1-year deal
Rochesterfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Terrible take - what should they have done so far to upgrade the offense? FA has not started. The draft has not occurred. There have not been a huge amount of star WRs, OL, RBs, and TEs released to sign. They have so far done exactly as Beane has stated - they have signed their own and as he has in the past - filled as many holes as possible - so they are free to move around in the draft to get what they want. To act like they are done and he broke a promise because they re-signed a back-up TE and their starting and back-up OL is insane. Enjoy what they have done before FA has even started. They are positioning themselves to have another stellar offseason leading to another great year. -
UPDATE: XFL suspends season
Rochesterfan replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My feeling is that you take these 2 teams and one has to travel - potential exposure - then stay in a hotel - more exposure - eat, ride to game. Then two teams play - lost of close physical contact and potential exposure. The risk is just that you can fairly quickly infect an entire team and spread the virus amongst many additional support players. For example the CAA just found out a Ref tested positive - now potentially every team in the CAA has potential to be exposed. They have already returned to campus - now potentially a larger group is exposed. If you had 2 teams and everyone tested and quarantined along with coaches, refs, doctors, video guys, everything - it would be fine, but one breakdown - one positive and bang potentially 50 exposures that need monitored. It sucks, but it makes sense to keep everyone as safe as possible. -
Predict Shaq Lawson's contract
Rochesterfan replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would be an awesome job by both Shaq and Beane!
