I really do not understand this line at all. Williams played RT in 2016 for most of the season. He played well enough to remain the starter in 2017 where he was a 2nd team All-Pro at RT. Then he gets hurt 2018 and was IR’d. He returns in 2019 after the injury - played both guard positions and left tackle (He did not play RT at all in 2019). So when exactly was the right tackle struggles - his rookie year when he platooned - much like Ford? After that he took over the RT position and was solid there - good enough to get 2nd team All Pro. Yes I think Ford had some good games, but if the O-Line is better with Morse, Ford, Williams - while Mongo is out - that is how they should play. If Ford plays well at guard - you let him stay and develop. If they have some liberty to move people around - they can do that also, but I want the best 5 guys out there and a 5 year vet with All-Pro chops should be able to handle the position better than a part time 2nd year player.

I agree with this 100%. Probably not needed and has always been a money grab. The only positive to having a preseason is that prevents teams from doing what they did this training camp and trying to hide everything and keep the media from talking. It was obvious that the Texas were totally unprepared for CEH. I would imagine even 1 preseason game using the starters and it would have made the NFL and the Texans a bit more prepared. This training camp was terrible for information and if they get rid of preseason and handle more things in the future in Orchard Park - I can see that becoming the norm.

I think you will see Gilliam and McKitrick sitting also. I think with limited preseason they are going to want more of the big guys as they work themselves into full game shape. They are short on LBs and all the back-ups are good on ST and I think a heavy rotation on the DLine is needed. May even see some rotation on the OLine to make sure everyone is 100%. I think they would be fine sitting a #4 TE and a #6 WR.

Totally agree - Dareus was the right thing to do at the time, but without a coach to keep him motivated - it all goes South so fast. Depressing.

My guess is he will be back and forth a few times depending on the team needs. It is a rough life for some of these guys and this year is going to be especially bad. I expect the Bills will be moving people on and off the PS with regularity as minor injuries creep up to assure they have the depth they want.

I am not going to make that assumption at all. DiMarco was on his last year with the Bills - maybe the Bills staff deemed the injury potentially career ending and DiMarco wants another shot to play hence an injury settlement. Maybe DiMarco agrees it is career ending and did not want to spend extra time rehabbing with Covid and would prefer to head off home and they came to an agreement. Until we see the end result- does DiMarco sign and play this year - we as fans have no way of knowing exactly why this was done. There are many factors and “heavy deceit” is not the first thing I think of. The Bills have done a great job of working with the players for what is best for them - even if it costs them a bit more. I right now would think this was a mutual decision that helps DiMarco in some way - whether it prolongs his career or allows him more time at home with his family.

Not sure I really get this. Do you know what the Bills staff really thought of these guys or what they were looking for in a PS DT? Maybe Smart said something, but just looking at him as a highly religious person - I would doubt it. I would more hazard a guess they were looking for a more stout run stopper on the DL - more along the lines of Slayton who they are bringing in. I heard good things about Smart also, but in the end they can only keep so many and my guess is it was more about the Bills allowing him to leave rather than Smart saying something and causing him to get cut. I think if Vincent Taylor had not been claimed - neither guy makes the PS, but with Taylor getting claimed maybe the Bills decide size was more important. I would just be really hesitant to assume that Smart acted out and it “sealed his fate”. Just does not seem in character.

Based upon the list released by the Bills and on the web site - these are the 17 members of the PS. Kumerow and Slayton are not listed and the PS is full. To add these 2 - they will need to cut 2 of the guys above.

Once Kumerow and Slayton clear protocol it will be interesting to see what changes they make. Is it Duke and Zimmerman gone (matching positions)? Or is it the extra TE, DB, or OL - maybe even DE? I am sure that they would love to keep all of these guys. What a nice dilemma to have - to much talent.

Philadelphia has 41 year old Josh McCown on their PS. Players will sign as needed. Money was not the issue. No surprise if you follow the NFL. Went exactly as expected.

Do you have a source for this? I have not seen the conditions that were agreed to. If it was snap or plays based as a Buffalo Bill - the conditions might still be met and they would still get the pick. If the condition was making the initial roster (typical) then yes the Bills would get their pick back. I have been looking, but have not seen a tweet on the conditions of the pick.

Holy God - just give it up. Yes they will fill all 17 of their spots. Andre Roberts will be back on the primary roster. Players will be activated more frequently because the PS rules for the year. Why would any team not take advantage of the space especially with it taking 3-5 days to get someone onto the team.

Sweeney is already on PUP - 6 weeks till he will return. There is another shoe that will drop. Maybe a trade or we see who makes it through waivers to decide who else to chance - maybe Fromm if Webb makes it through? Maybe a RB?

Yeah his 75+% approval rating and over 83% approval of his COVID handling suggest that most people can’t stand him. LOL - get real. He has screwed up - admitted mistakes - and most importantly listened to the science and positioned NY to be more open than most states.
