  1. Over $75,000 now - I love Bills Fans - Just amazing as a fan base.
  2. I believe Luis Guilamo and Dennis Lock have been added as Directors of analytics and Research and Strategy to assist in this regards. I am not sure they are responsible or if they have someone else in the booth, but I know when Luis was hired McDermott talked a lot about that - trying to get analytics behind the decision. He also stated that - it would not mean they would get them all right because sometimes you have to challenge a big play - even if the analytics are not favorable and sometimes you let a play go because the reward is less than the risk.
  3. They have continued to make changes to the team - they brought in a brand new analytics lead to help decide on many aspects such as which plays to challenge, when to challenge and when to let it go, when to go for it on 4th down. They are trying to use a data driven system based upon both the play and the turn over rate. My guess is that play they had a poor view of the play to decide if it was a TD or not and therefore a low % chance to overturn.
  4. Because of the definition needed - if they call it a score - they need definitive proof to overturn it and that requires proper camera angles. The call on the field is the most important part of the call as that most likely will determine the final outcome. They need to get the call right, but there are just so many plays that are so close because the athletes have so much more body control and talent and the camera angles and players speed are so much better - it is a nearly impossible task. They actually need to slow down the offenses a bit and have a review of each play, but that screws with rhythm and would lead to a decrease in overall plays and the NFL prefers some of these up tempo offenses.
  5. They do - it is part of the analytics team that from previous discussion earlier this year has a direct line to head coach. I believe they only allow you to challenge the spot if it is a first down/TD. You do not get a challenge to just move the spot a few inches. He would of had to challenge that it was a TD and then even if they move it - he still loses the challenge. The same thing happens if challenge a spot near the first down - typically if you do not get it - even if they move the ball forward a yard - you lose the challenge. It was done specifically to keep teams from making these types of challenges. He might of been able to challenge that he did not go out of bounds, but I still think that would have related to TD or no TD. The fact that the crew calling the game did not mention it until after the commercial break means that they probably did not have a great shot and you notice even the rules expert hedged and said he might have gotten a TD because those calls have been more consistently going with the call on the field.
  6. Just awesome - let’s keep it up. The guys gives us his all - what a true partnership with Josh!
  7. Agree totally with this - it is also why in the Miami game - when Tre was beaten down to the three yard line - the Miami receiver caught the ball falling down at the sideline - got 3 feet down and then lost the ball when he hit the ground, but it was ruled a catch. Under the older rules - that was incomplete because he did not complete the action going down, but now that is not the new rule. I thought both that play in Miami and the one last night should have gone as incompletes myself. The player gets control for a second to get feet down, but can’t maintain control. It is difficult, but I really dislike how they are calling it now and think it has just as many (or more issues), but tends to usually favor the WR and offense - so I think the NFL is ok with it.
  8. I agree, but prior to their COVID issues the Pats put 30 up on the Seahawks and 36 up on the Raiders. They have not been the same since that game, but much like Allen getting healthy and suddenly looking like a world beater again - if they start to get healthy - especially at QB - they have a history of scoring. Again - I though Cam was toast prior to the season and felt it was just time before he broke again, but I will not rule anything out until they are dead. I mean the Texans just squeaked out a win over Jacksonville with Luton at QB and gave up 300 passing yards to Chark and the no names at WR. Now Chark is better than any WR on NE, but I am not sure Luton is better than any QB on NE.
  9. Maybe, but 2 games against the Jets, the Texans, and the Chargers that find ways to lose gets them to 6. It all comes down to Cam and I agree - the team looks bad, but if he finds ways to make plays - he beat the Dolphins already and beat the Raiders. The team fell totally off with the COVID stuff (just like the Bills and their 2 weeks of unknowns) - I thought they were bad to start the season and figured a few things out. Get onto a normal routine and the easy schedule and maybe they get something. I hope they lose twice to the Jets to screw with the Draft, but I doubt it will happen - especially with Darnold out.
  10. I don’t think he is delusional at all. Right now the Pats are playing like garbage, but they have a favorable schedule and I anticipated them beating out the Dolphins for 2nd in the division before the Dolphins beat the Cards. They have 5 more games they should be able to win and be favored in. They have 2 NFC west teams left - those could go either way. Then I think there are the Bills and Ravens as 2 highly likely losses. That gave them a legitimate shot at 8 wins and I thought 2 place in the East, but I think Miami may get 2nd and NE might falter more - really depend upon Cam.
  11. Not really that hard to believe - if you watch the difference between his previous motion last year and earlier this year - the 2 things most recognized by reviewers (guys like cover 1 and former QBs) was the positioning of his off arm and shoulder (they joke about him eating a hamburger) - getting that arm tighter against his frame and up to allow him to get his hips through. The second thing was keeping his base narrow so he can adjust the angle and velocity of the ball. His base had been good for the last couple of games, but he was not as fluid getting his off arm correct and that prevents getting you shoulders in line. That tends to cause balls to either sail or drop to the ground. His throws weren’t way off - they just had not been along the same plane as before. That improved markedly yesterday. I think the KC and NE games you had weather impact, but Tennessee and NYJ you had arm placement issues. I think that was the biggest fault we had in that game.
  12. Not only in his maturity to move to the correct call, but even after a phenomenal game - he took blame for not adjusting faster to the Seahawks looks as they blitzed him. He came out and said he missed a few calls and recognized it and that got them into the right plays later. It is great to see him continue to recognize these things in game now and make adjustments. In year 1 - it would take a few games to see things enough and make adjustments and it was mostly done by the coaches. In year 2 - he started seeing things, but the adjustments were few and far between - leading to games like NE last year. After that he took it to heart and adjustments have been coming faster and faster and even in game. The Seahawks game went from mid-deep intermediate patters for big gains - to multiple screens and shorter passes after they blitzed to force them out of that. Great job by Josh and Daboll to get to this point.
  13. I think this is correct. The video shows he did not step out of bounds, but the video does not show the ball inside the pylon. He moves it left and it might go over it, but based upon that shot - the NFL is very likely to stay with the call on the field - they may adjust the spot, but if they do not rule it a TD - it is still a loss challenge and a lost timeout.
  14. Agreed - they have someone in that role, but as Davis never acted like it was a TD - I doubt that they scoured looking for replays. Typically the player starts the process by making some kind of act like you scored or for a catch/Int - you signal to the coach. Then the coach gets the guy on the head set trying to find out if they have an angle because that is the key. McDermott ha been burned several times on challenges that look good and the NFL has stuck to the ruling on the field. My guess is they had that same feeling with that play. His feet were in bounds, but the camera angle was from behind and to the side not down the line and Davis did not appear to significantly reach the ball inside the pylon. My understanding from the off season is they have both a guy looking at the play and an analytics guy to work that function.
  15. And now we are finding his injury may have been impacting that - who’d a thunk it. Worthless IQ test you took.
  16. Maybe you are just something ....... not nuanced or subtle. Troll
  17. No, but I am concerned about certain Trolls that like to start worthless threads. Seems to be several after the Pats Win. 😥
  18. I don’t see him as a real fit in Buffalo. He has traditionally been more of a rush OLB on 3-4 teams I don’t think he can truly play DE to replace Murphy and I do not think he is a real Klein replacement. I could see a team like Pittsburgh plop him on the PS as an extra pass rushing body for later in the season. That is a much better fit for Beasley as a player.
  19. But man some posters love to look foolish talking about being out coached, national credibility, and a bunch of other garbage with nothing to really back it up.
  20. Well let’s see - 2 of the last 3 weeks have been played in downpours with major wind - where neither QB for either team played well. I can’t imagine that had anything to do with it. The other game we had 425 yards and no punts. I don’t think your thoughts hold much water. Sorry.
  21. Does not bother me in the least. No spin - he is what we thought - a mid 2nd round pick that plays limited snaps and was drafted to be a replacement for next year. If he is still on the bench next year - then I will be worried. This year was always about preparing him for the future. Anything else you get this year is great.
  22. This year is so unique in so many ways. I think they will use this DLine a bit different. They have some hybrid DE/DT to play outside g/t gaps, put DEs outside the tackle, LBs and safety inside to cover gaps. Play a stacked defense with 8-9 guys near the line filling gaps.
  23. I think this is a short sighted thought process for a game we are more concerned about RBs and Cam running the ball than passing and pass rush.
  24. I think they want veterans to contain and pressure from the middle. AJ could potentially get tricked and drawn inside leaving room for Cam to the edge. This would have been a great Shaq game from last year. Hold the edge and fall on the QB when they move late.
