  1. I think Rex should become a college HC. Young players would love his personality, he will get a lot of high profile recruits just because of his name, and his defense will confuse a lot of younger non NFL QBs. He could become relevant and win some National Titles if he went down to coach college ball.
  2. Because very few of their big offseason adds work out. Just look at Chad Ochocinco. He was old but beause he was going to Patriots he was supposed to breakout again. Its the smaller additions that fill a role that works out for Pats. Like Chris Hogan. Or how about Danny Ameldola... he joined Pats and was supposed to become best slot reciever in the game because he was gonna Tom Brady. Instead it was Edelman who broke out as a late round player. Point being the big names (aside from Moss) never work out and its always the smaller name players that fill the perfect role that makes the Patriots great
  3. They gave up a ton of money and draft picks very unPatriot like. Usually we are the team overspending and wasting draft picks and they are the team signing the solid role players that fit their system. Now it appears its the opposite.
  4. I dont think its a push rather than just preparing for life after Brady and Bill. Pats know they will suck once those two are gone and they are trying to improve the team so they can leave it in hands of Jimmy G.
  5. Thats what im getting from the OP. Zach Brown signing will be huge for us
  6. May sprinkle it in just to add a different look
  7. I think we should demand a 1st round pick from the NFL. They get all mad when a team deflates a football but then the NFLPA just releases contract offers
  8. Pretty sure is based off money. If the players you lost gets paid more hence Gilmore and Woods then we get more comp picks in return as long as we dont spend on high tier free agents
  9. This seems just like a training camp body or convert him to slot reciever to compete with Philly Brown
  10. Im guessing Marlon Humphrey in round 1 and Zay Jones or Chris Godwin in round 2
  11. I think Poyer can start. He won the Cleveland job but if we elect to take a Safety i could see Poyer is a backup. Just depends on how the draft falls and pans out.
  12. He will be gone in the 1st after the combine
  13. Solid #3 to #4 reciever. I think Philly has potentials to be a really good slot reciever for us
  14. Everytime I read this title i read it as inked not linked. Super confusing
  15. Mills was also a 5th round pick. He didnt have as much talent as the others like Brown and Hughes which were 1st round talents that were considered busts. Smith is a 1st round talent as well... he really isnt thought of as a bust (he has always been a dependable player) he just hasnt played to full potential.
  16. It worked with Lorenzo Alexander and Zach Brown last year. And it also worked with Jerry Hughes. Whaley has a way to find talent that others over look or determined were busts. Its probably Doug Whaleys best quality as a GM You would rather sign a DB and draft a tackle than sign a tackle and draft a DB in maybe the best DB class of alltime? Its a great year to have a need in the secondary. We dont need to sign anyone when we could draft one which will give us same skill level at a much cheaper price
  17. They are all very well spoken and seem to be high character guys. We added two former captains so leadership seems to be a quality we are adding. And every single player we added except for Poyer comes from a winning team. Panthers Seahawks Ravens Packers Falcons Also besides Tolbert they are all pretty young in the the 25 to 27 range. Young high character guys off the field, versatile on the field and comes from places where they are used to winning seems to be the type of free agents McDermott likes
  18. Hopkins? Aint afraid. Only outside recievers that actually worked in that system was Moss. Hopkins is no Moss. Brdy only throws to slot recievers and tight ends
  19. This is the nost underrated pick up in the NFL. Think he is gonna highly impact our defense with just being solid at everything. Brings captain experience as well
  20. This guy won the Browns starting FS last year before his injury. Not saying much to win a starting spot on Browns but something to keep an eye on.
  21. We dont have the capspace to make this kinda move but i like the way Whaley and McDermott are putting this pieces together. Teams get in trouble when they sign big name free agents on the bad side of 30. We have added players who are just about to enter their prime or are currently in their prime. Exception is probably our short yardage situation back in Tolbert. But that is a good way to fill holes is under the radar young guys who can contribute for years to come. We also added two captains to the team so adding leadership is a good way to start building a team. Leadership is a good quality to have and didnt have much of it under Ryan
  22. I was curious how i remembered Poyers name. Apparently its because he is dating Rachel Bush who i had on my snapchat i believe. Now i rememeber lol
  23. Even with good depth we still need to add players. Only WRs we have is Watkins and Listenbee. We need atleast 8 recievers to take to camp. Which means we have to add atleast that. We are not gonna add 6 rookies through draft. That would give us 7 recievers who never played a down in NFL. We gotta sign some vets as well
  24. I dont know about your math but Carpenter missed 11. That is more than 10 Carpenter missed 11 with 1 being blocked Hauschka missed 10 with 7 being blocked That has to be be on their line
