  1. Love Jenkins at 60. I hope we go WR, DT, DE, S in the first 4 rounds provided we keep all those picks. I’d be ok with moving that order around depending on how the draft falls but, ideally, I’d love to see something like this (pre-combine, pre FA): rd 1: WR Franklin rd 2: DT Jenkins rd 3: BPA for DE (Dorlus/Elliss), S (Bishop/Hicks), or WR (Wilson/Thrash) rd 4: BPA same as above, preferably for a position not drafted yet unless someone really falls
  2. KC could spend a future pick to move up. They just won with Rashee Rice and a bunch of JAGS at WR and know full well they could possibly run it back with the addition of an elite/high level WR coming in. I don’t think they are plotting how to beat the Bills necessarily but they know we want a WR so we are the one they need to jump. A 1st and 3rd can get them from 32 up to possibly 25, with 3 NFC teams in front of us that’s more doable than within conference. If they see their future WR1 in this draft they will move to get him.
  3. This is the correct mentality. We are not drafting a replacement for Gabe- we are drafting the heir to Diggs. We don’t want a WR2, we want a WR1 who is only #2 because Diggs is still a top-10 WR (on paper). By next year Diggs and Rookie will hopefully be about even.
  4. I agree 100%. Outside of 20 is just too expensive with our needs. There are quality WRs to be had in every round of this draft. If Thomas and Franklin are floating around after 21 go get your guy. God knows KC is looking for theirs, so let’s not get passed up if we need to move. I’ll do my best lol. Provided systems stay up at work I should be able to manage updates fairly well.
  5. Figured it was time to start one of these. Coaches, GMs, and teams are gathering at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis to see which players impress athletically and mentally as they perform drills, medical evaluations, and interviews. After this week we will see perhaps the largest adjustment to mock draft placement for players, with incremental changes as pro days and private workouts further narrow down the likely landing spot of 250+ future NFL players… whether they make the cut or live up to their draft position will be determined. Combine Schedule: Thursday, 2/29 3pm – Defensive Linemen, Linebackers Friday, 3/1, 3pm – Defensive Backs, Tight Ends Saturday, 3/2, 1pm – Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Running Backs Sunday, 3/3, 1pm – Offensive Linemen Projected Positions of Need (pre- Free Agency): Primary - WR, DT, S, DE Secondary - RB, OT, OC Personal Watch List: WR: Brian Thomas Jr, Troy Franklin, AD Mitchell, Xavier Leggette, Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, Brenden Rice, Jacob Cowing, DT: Kris Jenkins, Braden Fiske, T’Vondre Sweat, McKinnley Jackson, Masson Smith, Leonard Taylor, Jordan Jefferson, Keith Randolph Jr S: Javon Bullard, Tykee Smith, Cole Bishop, Jaden Hicks, Malik Mustapha, Trey Taylor, Kenny Logan Jr DE: Laiatu Latu, Chop Robinson, Darius Robinson, Jonah Ellis, Bralen Trice, Austin Booker, Marshawn Kneeland, Javon Solomon, Justin Eboigbe, Mohamed Kamara Bills Related Combine Media RESULTS https://www.nfl.com/combine/tracker/live-results/bench-press/all-positions/all-colleges/ THURSDAY RESULTS: DL, LB
  6. They backloaded contracts while they had Brees to try and get a SB win. Now he is gone and their window officially closed. They’re probably going to have to suck for 2+ years to clear these bad contracts and rebuild
  7. Or a Prozac 😂 (sorry, had to)
  8. I’d be fine with Hodge coming back at the right price to fill out the back half of the WR room if we don’t plan to draft 2 WR. He would be WR 4/5 and I feel like hed rather play with Josh than Danny 2-Nickles. Diggs WR Rookie Shakir Harty Hodgins Shorter
  9. I agree that Jones should be a priority target- good fit and played very well for us last year. Hope we can swing the money if he’s not too expensive
  10. Sure but I doubt he’s gonna take 4m/year after last season. He’s a starter, like him or not, and should be paid like one.
  11. Good dude who did come up big when we needed him. Those first 2 years were pretty special especially in the playoffs. Nagging injuries and drops have been problems the last 2 years, but that being said he was likable and I will miss him on gameday. I hope wherever he goes he finds success, so long as it isn’t in the AFC
  12. They call that combination “Fowl Play” 😂
  13. I think we will see QB’s playing longer for sure, so long as their skills don’t dull too much and their pay keeps pace. Location also matters- Megatron retired in his prime because the team was unwilling to either acquire talent to challenge for a title and was not willing to let him go. He was burned out and said he was done. the right QB, with the right team/ownership, and the right skills will play until the money or skills start to wilt. I expect more QB’s to keep playing, but only at a high enough level.
  14. I love the PFN one but their rankings right now seem pretty outdated in my view. Franklin being ranked 42 overall when most other places have him between 20-30 is telling. I also see a ton of safeties going in early round 3 (like 5-6 usually between picks 73-88) which seems incorrect as well. Maason Smith outside of the top-100 is a pipe dream: he’s not lasting past pick 75 in my eyes. Fanspeak seems to have some issues refreshing the page or making me start over sometimes mid-draft, but I feel like those updated rankings are somewhat closer to reality, at least as far as the top-100 to 150 are concerned. Then again, those are user created and may not be very reflective of reality depending on which board you elect to use. Also, no trades without premium is no bueno. That’s where PFN is better, so long as you only take realistic compensation.
  15. Back when this was a hot topic a few years ago I came up with, what I thought, was a fair and highly competitive way to do OT. Basically, each team gets at least 1 possession (with an exception I will highlight), and has to outscore their opponent following their possession. Here was my breakdown: 1. If the receiving team has to punt or has a fumble/interception, the other team only needs to kick a FG to win. Team A had 0 points, team B only needs 3. 2. if the receiving team kicks a FG, the other team must put up more points on their possession. They must score a TD to win (no extra point needed). Team A has 3 points, team B needs at least 6 from a TD. 3. If the receiving team gets the TD but misses the extra point or 2-point conversion, the other team needs a TD and extra point to win. Team A has 6 points, team B needs at least 7. 4. If the receiving team gets a TD and the extra point, the other team must get a TD and 2 point conversion to win. Team A has 7 points, team B needs 8. The game ends immediately if one of the following happens: a. The receiving team gets a TD and makes a 2 point conversion - this can't be topped as far as points are concerned, so the other team will not get a possession. b. The receiving team gives up a safety or pick-6. They had their possession and the opposing Defense scored. No need for the other team offense to take the field. I know it’s not perfect, but it seems like fun and even more exciting to watch with the stakes a bit higher.
  16. This comment gets the Macho Man Seal of Approval. OH YEAHHHHHHHH
  17. As much as I love the conversation, it’s too early to tell. Combine, interviews, and Pro Days are necessary to properly get a feel for whoever is on your big board. I’d love to say WR for sure, but it really depends who is left, who falls, and what we can see down the road. All that being said, here I go with my way-too-early thoughts: In these early stages leading up to the draft, I have started to like Brian Thomas Jr and Troy Franklin as possible WR options for us that could realistically be available. I think they have a good combo of size, speed, and playmaking ability, and if one of them is there I would feel good at this stage about drafting them. …if WR prospects start coming off the board fast and furious, and we can’t wiggle our way up in the draft, we have a decision to make: do we take a lesser prospect WR earlier than intended (I say no), do we draft for a different position of need (probably), or can we trade back a little bit, get some decent compensation, and get a few secondary talents who can probably be good with a little coaching and practice? (I say maybe, depends on compensation and who is left out there)
  18. Could do a lot better, could do a bit worse. i think we have enough playmakers to survive a game or two. If we had to rely on a backup for significant time the season is over and we could use the better pick in the draft. I can live with one season of suck if it meant getting talent that would be much more valuable on rookie deals. I hope we don’t ever have to, but that’s the truth of the matter
  19. He’s great at letting the teams I despise win championships. I have no clue why he can’t win in the big one - probably hubris. Kick the ball in OT. Run the ball when your OPOY is on your team. This is a Seattle vs NE level meltdown in my opinion, not Atlanta vs. NE. He tried being clever rather than being efficient in a game where he just needed to hold on and let his offense do what they do best.
  20. CMC should have won. That being said, Josh should have won if a QB had to win it. Either way, the only votes I agreed on all night were CJ Stroud getting OROY and Tom Grossi winning Fan of the Year.
  21. MVP sadly doesn’t mean “most valuable peen”
  22. Boy howdy do I hope he makes his best edge player drop back into coverage like he did with Mario Williams lol
  23. I am for trading back if possible, but I feel like the 3 WR we would likely be interested in (Thomas, Franklin, and Coleman) would not last beyond 35 at this point. Chiefs, Pats, and Arizona could all use some WR help and Carolina could benefit from another weapon for Bryce too. i think if any of these 3 are “the guy” we sit tight at 28 and don’t risk it (I even see moving up as a possibility to make sure we get our guy like we did with DK last year). If those 3 are gone then trade back, get Legette in the mid 30’s, and use the remaining capital to move around and help get whomever else we can. We have too many holes and not enough money to ship all our picks away, but if we get at least 5 quality picks (starter and backups) we walk from this draft happy. We absolutely need at least 1 WR, DT, and S. We should also try to get a LB and DE. After that? OC and double up on either DT or WR. Not necessarily saying to draft in that order (if a good WR falls to Rd 3 you go get him) but those should be priority.
  24. … if “painful memories” was a category. i got all of these in like 2 seconds. My heart hurts again.
  25. I’m pretty firmly on the Thomas/Franklin train as realistic options near 28. Would be willing to move a few spots forward or backward if they are there. I would love to move back a few spots but if either of those guys are there at 28 you run to that podium.
