Randy Mueller - maybe only ~150 draftable players this year
KingBoots8 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s more to do with the fact these kids were probably freshmen when COVID hit and it may have stunted their growth a bit, especially at some of the smaller schools -
yeah, and he looks shorter and unhappy too! GET HIM OUTTA HERE!!!

Who should the Bills draft at #58? - TSW Mock Draft 2.0
KingBoots8 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m pretty high on Cole Bishop, but at 58? Not sure I like that, but he is my favorite among the remaining options. -
Thank you for your FOOTBALL contributions, and nothing more.

Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
KingBoots8 replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I will miss them, in that I wanted that core of players to be the ones to get the job done. Poyer, Hyde, Tre, Morse… all instrumental in helping get us out of the gutter and being real contenders. Say what you will about their injuries or their slowing down a bit with age, but these dudes were a part of a really genuinely good core of dudes. I think they, like anyone, are replaceable and also think that it was time for many of them. Hyde I didn’t want to see injured again, I didn’t want Morse to get another concussion, Tre… talk about just bad luck for a guy who was an absolute beast when healthy before these injuries, and Poyer is still capable of playing but he’s on his way out of the league sooner rather than later. Diggs? I think we miss him a bit, but I also think he’s been a distraction and has vanished when it comes down to playoff-time football. There’s a very petty part of me that wants us to win this year just so he can see we always has it in us, and he can watch on as Josh gets it done without him. -
I was high on Franklin heading into the combine, wavered on that a bit, but after his pro day I really feel like he does so much so well. He’s not the best guy in the draft overall, but he might be the best option for what the Bills are looking for. I’d like to entertain a possible trade back from 28 into the top of the 2nd round to recoup a 3rd or early 4th, but he would be my target between 33-37.

How would you construct the 2024 Bills WR Room?
KingBoots8 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, obviously this all depends on how the draft picks fall, but for the sake of argument I am assuming that we are not willing to trade anywhere above 20. In fact, if there is a run on WR I am predicting we consider trading back to pick up a late 3rd. You obviously also need a willing trade partner, so none of this is guaranteed. all that being said, I would look to the mid-30s for trade back options, specifically Arizona or Washington. AZ I would look for 35 & 94 for 28 Washington has a lot of picks in the 2nd and 3rd, so I’d shoot for 36 & 74 for 28, 128, and 160. Compensation is close enough, plus they get a shot at a 5th year extension for whoever they sign so we may be able to offer a lower pick for that reason. Again, based on how the draft falls, I’d likely go for someone like Franklin or McConkey (2 players the Bills have met with multiple times) at pick 35-36. Then unless someone falls significantly I wouldn’t touch WR in the draft until the 5th round. We have too many other needs to address and have positions we need to get younger at. In the 5th I would consider someone like Luke McCaffrey, and possibly Cornelius Johnson if I was inclined to absolutely get a WR in the 5th. I have him as a 5th/6th prospect, closer to 6th but he should be gone before pick 200 in my opinion. Curtis Samuel Franklin/McConkey Khalil Shakir Mack Hollins McCaffrey/Johnson Justin Shorter -
Do you think Allen feels relief after the Diggs trade?
KingBoots8 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m going to start by saying, once again, thank you to Stef for his contributions on the field and in the community. That being said, it’s as good a time as any to close that chapter and start a new one. The narrative surrounding the Bills and Josh Allen is that he needed Stef to become who he is, and there may be some truth to that, but Josh now has the luxury of experience and commanding an offense. He has always played with a chip on his shoulder since high school, and this is just more fuel to the fire: he has an opportunity to prove to the world he is an elite QB no matter who he throws to. Diggs was a major force early last year, but fell off when Brady assumed OC duties. What will the narrative be when Josh performs well without #14? What about when we play Houston this year? What will it be when he finally gets a win over KC in the playoffs, or hangs one on Cincy? What will it be when he wins his first MVP or Super Bowl? Give Allen the pen and let’s see what he writes for himself. -
Regardless of whatever behind the scenes stuff played out, and whatever his feelings are about the team, I’ll say this: Thank you Stef.

AB has about 6 brain cells left. He should not waste them on X lol

I could see a player like Tanor Bortolini in the 4th at center, or Drake Nugent in the 5th/6th range. I don’t think we have it as a need, but if the talent is there it could be hard to pass up.

One month out, who are Your Guys in the draft?
KingBoots8 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is from a talent perspective of possible options we have available at our range of picks. Not necessarily an endorsement for taking these players, or in this order. Day 1: WR Brian Thomas Jr WR AD Mitchell DE Chop Robinson CB Kool-Aid McKinstry S Cooper DeJean C Jackson Powers-Johnson Late Day 1 / Early Day 2 (trade back options) WR Ladd McConkey WR Troy Franklin WR Xavier Worthy WR Keon Coleman Day 2: DT Kris Jenkins DT Ruke Orhoroho DE Adisa Isaac DT Braden Fiske DE Bralen Trice WR Xavier Leggette S Cole Bishop C Cedric Van-Pran WR Johnny Wilson DE Marshawn Kneeland CB Mike Sainistril DT Maason Smith IDEALLY: We get “our guy” at 28. However, I am a bigger fan for trading back this year to recoup a 3rd rounder because I feel like there are so many WR who can contribute if there are still a few left, or so many WR will go early forcing some really good players to fall. It takes 2 to tango, so you need a trade partner willing to move up, a player worth someone moving up for, and good compensation. If we traded to the mid-30s with someone like Arizona and got pick 90 I think that’s too good an offer to pass up, provided we are confident with who will be available later on. I listed more than I planned on, but these players are the ones I like the most in the top-100 pick range. -
I did this one with the intention of not trading back the first 2 rounds and seeing the estimated cost (per pfn) to move up from 128 to the early 90’s. Now, in no reality does Kris Jenkins last to 92, but I was considering a trade up to about 98ish range for Maason Smith that would maybe change compensation a small amount (maybe 144 instead of 133 or something) I have a feeling if we walked out of the draft like this we should give Beane the key to the city we gave to TO lol

Does Josh Allen still work as hard in the offseason?
KingBoots8 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d bet he works out with Hailee more -
Need to find a guard to play next to him named Cheeks

Not gonna lie, I forgot what I predicted but I was pretty shocked he only had 2 TD’s. I definitely felt like it was more for some reason. Interested to see who we draft this year. I like watching the film after the draft and seeing where the pieces fit together. Not sure I want to make another prediction just yet for Kincaid, but I would expect the numbers to be similar. Knox has seniority and will get his snaps in for sure. Dorsey to Brady changed his usage a little. Could have been adjusting to the coaching changes, but after a decent game vs Denver his yardage and targets took a steady hit for about a month. He had 1 game with 0 receptions and another right after with 1 reception for 7 yards. He also scored both regular season touchdowns before Brady was the OC (but did score one against the Steelers in the playoffs). He ended the year strong with 2 great games, and performed well in 2 playoff games. He also missed 1 game during the first half of the season where my numbers may have been a little further off had he played. A good start to what I believe is a great player. Excited for him to take another step this season.

Yeah I am positive Beane was counting on that comp pick being a 3rd, which made the trade for Douglas worth the cost. Still not sure how it doesn’t work out for us that way. Given the WR talent I can see a trade back to recoup the 3rd as a possibility. There’s 3 or 4 guys who are superior and out of range, then a bunch of tier 2 guys who are about even and should be attainable. If we moved to 33-39 we still (probably)have a chance at getting McConkey, Franklin, and Coleman. I don’t think the “drop off” between them vs AD Mitchell is huge, and if it gets us another 3rd we can get some good players still. I mean, we can package a ton of 4th/5ths too but I don’t think that’s a good idea given our holes this season. Now, if someone like Chop or DeJean fell to 28… might be real hard to pass on their talent for their positions. Not sure what to do there, which is why I’m not a GM lol

He will be very good for them for the 6 games he will play.
-
Truck. Then he makes an exception to his “destroy the Dolphins” rule and helps him up and gives him a hug
-
He could be a decent LB hahaha. Possibly, depending how the first round goes, I could see a few targets in round 2. Kris Jenkins, Ruke Orhorhoro, Braden Fiske all seem like good selections. I could also see some activity in rounds 4/5 with players like Jordan Jefferson and Gabe Hall. Barring a trade to the 3rd we likely will miss out on players like Mekhi Wingo and Maason Smith.
-
Hahahaha wow the Bears played themselves.

Historically speaking, he is baiting the hook and seeing how many people bite. It’s kinda funny at this point. He could tweet out “New shoes” and people are gonna be like “OMG ARE THEY BLACK AND SILVER? DIGGS TO RAIDERS CONFIRMED!!” Just remember this is part of his offseason entertainment. Stop reading into it so much.
