  1. He is only 20. He can get better in that aspect.
  2. The Charges didn't recover that. The refs completely blew that.
  3. No. We have to stop with this our rookies need to be all world narrative. Just need to see growth.
  4. People just think your trash as a D-lineman unless you consistently get double digit sacks every year.
  5. A few thoughts. First, McDermott prides himself on the culture he is building, first and foremost. That starts with the owners, GM and him to the players, trainers and probably even the custodians in the building. He is trying to take the B.B. approach. He wants to build the team's culture, he wants that in place because once it is, it makes a lot of other things easy. On that note, I bet he isn't happy about the leak. Someone went against the culture, so I'm sure he was pissed off about that before he entered the room. Secondly, it seemed that the reporters were attacking him, attacking his credibility, and questioning his decision making. That put him on the defensive, so he was already in a bad mood and now he is on the defensive. Plus, the ask the same question eight times, which he answered the same way each time and was getting more annoyed each time the question was asked. All those equal up to a not so pleasant press conference. One more note to make. I think NP was McDermott's guy. When he looks at the kind of player he wants in his locker room, its NP. He wanted NP to succeed so badly, not because he wanted to look correct last year, but just because he truly likes the guy and sees him as someone who he can build the roster around, in terms of the culture. McDermott never thought NP was the long-term solution but wanted him to be serviceable this year so that Allen could sit and learn. Obviously, NP being atrocious doesn't allow that to happen, so now he has to turn to his rookie. I think he has all the faith in the world in Allen, he just wanted Allen to have time to learn and grow before taking his lumps.
  6. He could be pissed because there was a leak of Allen being the starting QB.
  7. Being here this year is going to be mentally taxing, with the reaction we had after one-quarter of the first football game.
  8. You guys act like this is going to be turned around with just a bunch of free agent signings and draft next year. It won't. In fact, I see us signing a bunch of 1-year deals next year with veteran guys who bounce around because you have to spend so much of your cap. What the dead money being gone does, is allows you to go out and get a high priced free agent if one becomes available, whether that's next year or the following year.
  9. In the Bengals game, when they moved Groy to right guard and brought in Bodine, we actually had good pass protection for a couple plays. They went away from it after that series in the second quarter. I think the Bills should look at that again. Groy might be more suited to a guard style of play where always he has to worry about is the player he is blocking, not hiking the ball and then locating his target.
  10. It's what the good QBs do. The good WB knows he has a single high safety, so he starts his read to the left to draw the safety and the immediately goes to the seam route.
  11. Well, there were people who were crushing me earlier in this thread.
  12. Look at that. Even with the great game from Mack the Bears weren’t victorious.
  13. He went high on the back. But he didn't actually hit him in the head. He took one step after the throw. To me, that was borderline.
  14. No that wasn't. It was borderline roughing the passer.
  15. Touchdown!!! Bum knee and all.
  16. I know, but that one was very significant. They usually only call holding when it helps the play.
  17. How they didn't call hold on that 3rd and 3 run by Cohen for the first down is beyond me. The Chicago guard tackled Wilkerson, which allowed Cohen to cut back for the first down. It can't be that serious, or he wouldn't out there.
  18. You guys can believe what you want. I don't think Mack, with the current roster we have, was worth two first round picks. It was for the Bears because they already had key people in place. Mack is a luxury, not a necessity for them.
  19. There are HOF players in almost every draft class. you just have to go find them. That's the key.
  20. Yup. Mack will be a Hall of Fame player. The Bears have a stacked roster they made better with getting Mack. They could afford to not have two first round picks for him because of that. If it would have just been a first and maybe a future second or third, yes. Go for it. But Buffalo is going to need all it can to improve this roster. You guys act like Mack is coming off of several Super Bowl victories. The Raiders never made it out of the Wild Card without him. If we got Mack and were still terrible this year and next. Everyone would be screaming that it was a stupid move around the draft.
  21. Mack isn't going to make a difference on this roster. There are too many other weaknesses. There will be other Mack's in upcoming drafts. You just have to find them.
  22. With the number of holes on this roster, we couldn't afford to give up two first-round draft picks for Mack. We are going to need them. The Bears, don't feel they do because they have a solid roster.
  23. I don't know if anyone coming out looks like a top prospect. Which, could be unfortunate for us. If Allen does look like a Franchise guy we could parlay our top pick into more picks for a QB desperate team trading up.
  24. Reading comprehension isn't strong with this one. Watkins wasn't going to stay, and we weren't going to pay him what KC did. Dareus was basically useless for the amount of money we were paying him. Glenn couldn't stay healthy. Darby is a head-scratcher. I don't know why they got rid of him. If read what the guy said, we had to get rid of some guys to get out of cap hell.
