I kept hearing over the last few weeks that the Raiders asking price for Adams (a second round pick) was too high. As it turns out the Jets will probably get him for only a 3rd. Here’s the last 15 years of Bills 2nd round picks. Many are busts, a few have been good, none have been stars. We are in desperate need of better receivers and potentially going to waste another chance at a Super Bowl this season by not upgrading the position. 2024: Cole Bishop 2023: O’Cyrus Torrence 2022: James Cook 2021: Boogie Basham 2020: AJ Epenesa 2019: Cody Ford 2018: None 2017: Zay Jones 2016: Reggie Ragland 2015: Ronald Darby 2014: Cyrus Kouandijo 2013: Robert Woods 2012: Cordy Glenn 2011: Aaron Williams 2010: Torell Troup

Back in 2017, in McDermott’s first year, we played the colts very late in the season in a game we basically needed to win to have any chance at making the playoffs. This was the memorable snow bowl game. Well during this game, with 4:13 seconds left in overtime, McDermott punted on 4th and 1 on the Colts 41 yard line. This game ending in a tie would have all but sunk our chances of ending the drought. Of course we got the ball back on our own 30 with about 2 minutes left, Joe Webb threw the long pass to Deonte Thompson, and then McCoy broke the long Td run, but regardless of that miraculous outcome, the decision to punt there was TERRIBLE. His bad decisions get magnified in big games when we lose, but people easily forget all the other really bad ones when we win. I don’t want a coach who punts 3 times on 4th and short on the opponents side of the field like McDermott did against the Bucs. If Mike Evans turns around we lose that game, and if Joe Webb, Deonte Thompson, and Shady McCoy didn’t pull out an incredibly unlikely win against the Colts in 2017, the drought would have gone on even longer.

I used to be a much bigger SU basketball fan, but in the last 5 years or so I basically turned into a very casual fan. I would look up the box scores after they played, but didn’t really watch any games unless they were in the Tournament, didn’t follow recruiting, etc. I pretty much went all in on the Bills and became less of a fan of my other teams. Anyway, after yet another crushing Bills playoff loss, I decided I wanted to stop putting all of my passion for sports into one team and thought I would get back into SU basketball, so I watched last night’s game. I couldn’t believe how bad the product was. From the constant replay reviews on obvious calls, the horrendous officiating, the announcing, the lack of replays on the broadcast after questionable calls, the flagrant foul on what was basically just a routine collision. It was all very frustrating and almost unwatchable to me. For those of you who have watched a lot of college basketball recently, are games commonly like this? I played and watched basketball for many years (although not recently) and have never seen plays like that draw a flagrant foul. Is this a new officiating emphasis, or was it more of an anomaly?

Which configuration do you think would make the best starting O-Line?

richie incognito "nothing to do here"

If you recall from the published text messages between Richie and Jonathan Martin from the scandal a few years back, it seemed like most off-days, Richie, Martin, and some of the other lineman had a routine where they would always round up a few women and then go for dinner and then to a nightclub. Now I don't know if his idea of "something to do" has changed over the past few years, but if not, I don't think he's really saying that there's literally no nice restaurants/clubs in Buffalo, but just that there's quite a few less than in Miami. I also don't think he meant this in a bad way, as he seemed to be saying that it makes it easier to focus on football. -
Dareus played today, right?
Cheektavegas Charlie replied to McNubbins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched Dareus most of the game when the Bills were on D. He probably played only 35-40% of the snaps, and came up limping on multiple occasions. He did have one nice pass rush where he forced Ryan to get rid of the ball quickly and I believe resulted in an INT. Didn't seem like a big factor in the run game, but almost all of the Falcons runs were outside the tackles. He was also doubled-teamed about 80%+ of the time on passing plays. -
Bills working out punters

If the Panthers had better field position on some of those FG drives, they could have been touchdowns. I can't believe you're trying to argue that field position doesn't matter. It may not be the most important thing in a game, but to say it doesn't matter is ludicrous. -

How is field position an antiquated argument?? That makes no sense to say that field position doesn't matter. There literally would never be a situation when you would rather give your opponent the ball at their own 30 instead of their own 20. Why would we not upgrade the punter if we can do so for essentially the same cost? -
This isn't a relevant comparison at all. Tyrod has only been a starting QB since 2015. You're using Kaepernick's stats going back to 2012, which was when he was actually a very good QB. In the time since Tyrod has been starting, Kaepernick has a 3-16 record. You know who else has better stats than Tyrod if you compare their stats from 2012 on? Matt Schaub, Josh Freeman, and Robert Griffin.

Why are you still watching?

When you really get down to it, being a "fan" of a team means we are tying part of our overall happiness to the successes/failures of the team. If someones happiness does not increase when the Bills win, and they do not feel any worse when the Bills lose, I would not really consider them to be a fan. For many Bills fans, it seems like they will not gain any satisfaction/happiness from anything the team does, unless they make the playoffs. Even more extreme, some fans say they will not be happy with making the playoffs and getting knocked out right away, but will only be happy with a Super Bowl victory. If I were to try to assign values to this, I would say a Superbowl win could be worth 5,000 points, a playoff berth worth 1,000, and a regular season win worth 100. A regular season loss could be -100, another season without making the playoffs -1,000, etc. Of course in this scenario, the Bills have negatively affected my happiness over the past 17 years. Still, even in a season where most do not expect us to win many games, my overall attitude/happiness is still influenced by whether the Bills win or lose, and I would go even further and say that things like touchdowns, big plays, even first downs and penalties matter to me as a fan. -
A number of years ago I was in a loud, crowded bar and a very good looking woman that I had been talking to earlier in the night came up by me and started dancing/grinding on me, but I was so enraptured watching the highlights from the Bills last preseason game on one of the TVs that I barely noticed, and she was gone by the time they were over.
