  1. I am not quite sure the difference between DT and DE as far as talent.... There are vets, undrafteds and first rounders on both positions. Neither has been particularly strong but the difference is the DTs are not counted on for putting pressure on the QB in this defense. I am curious if McDerm will get tired of watching Frazier's scheme, he has to take some of the blame. I can understand a couple of players underperforming but as much as they were all gelling as a defense at the beginning of the season they have been not working together at all the past two games, wonder if it has to do with the voice in the defensive room or just they are not good.
  2. When were the Saints outscored 47-10 like the Bills were Sunday?
  3. I was when they were 5-2, are these guys different. You can say we lost Dareus but he missed a few games and was rotational for the rest of them. The DTs are tired and need help. The embarrassment was the LBs. Not one shot the gaps and everyone was tackling behind them. Could the DTs done more sure but they weren't the big issue This defense wasn't about interior pressure, remember this is Frazier's defense not McDerm's. Why exactly are the DEs not held accountable for pass rush?
  4. I'm not sure I agree with the assertion that Peterman wouldn't have done anything more than Taylor in the first 58 minutes. Taylor has a skillset that hasn't been utilized much this year. Peterman we will find out is a better passing QB but if Taylor is allowed or willing to create with his legs then he becomes the superior one, too bad that hasn't happened with the game in doubt the last two weeks.
  5. No never said anything about the run defense rather the DTs will be fine, not right after the last two games but name a player that shined the last two weeks. I don't think these two games you can learn about any player right now.
  6. They have all done it multiple times. Brees and Rodgers have played on teams with horrible defenses
  7. Ok you win two games. As bad as they have been they were that good earlier this year against the run against good running teams.
  8. This still doesn't mean he is not playing
  9. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Big Ben, Phillip Rivers, Drew Brees. They have all done it at one time. Also better QBs don't go three and out as much as we have the past two weeks
  10. I was really impressed (garbage time or not) how he had a real good feel for routes. He went through multiple reads and only had one play to a RB/FB. Not yesterday though. I think Tyrod actually got worse the later it got, yet Peterman did well because he actually threw the ball
  11. The only reason why we are looking at replacing all our DTs though is because of one game. The 5-2 start had the Bills being stout in the middle.
  12. 41-19 is a very telling stat. That is the Saints time of possession vs the Bills of which I think the Bills had most of the last 10 minutes. You don't win games by not controlling the ball. Is it the DTs fault, about as much as it is the LBs, Oline, McCoy, Taylor and whoever else is on the team. DT was not the glaring weakness on defense, LBs were but nothing looked right that game. Dareus would not have helped in this game and you can't rely on one position to fix it but get me a MLB before all.
  13. There certainly isn't enough to fire these two at all. Beane hasn't even been here for a draft. It is a process that needs to be finished, let's just hope it's another show me baby thing with this process.
  14. This is not the first team to say this. If Tyrod wants to win next week he better learn how to throw and throw a lot. We go to the playoffs if he opens up a little, we are out if he doesn't
  15. I think our D line will be ok but I would like to see a LB and CB. They are tired no doubt but I see them getting better. Dareus was a big loss talent wise but They have good DTs.
  16. You think Kyle doesn't care? Watch Tyrod's presser, you think he doesn't care? If he doesn't he is a great actor.
  17. The O line flat out needs to get better but we have to make the other teams respect the pass in order to be able to run and that is not happening. Dennison isn't fully the issue but are game plan on offense needs to be reverse. When we pass first in games we tend to do better on offense.
  18. I think most of them care. A 47-10 game is not what they want to be associated with.
  19. I am all for starting the guy, I don't want to see another game like the last two. The hesitation I have is what if he still needs time to understand the game. He isn't a first round pick for a reason but I haven't seen anything from him to believe he can't do it yet though. I like his composure but preseason and mopup duty and starting a game are two very different scenarios. I'm cautiously optimistic understanding he just might not be ready. I am hoping we have the right people in place to make that decision.
  20. I was expecting a stronger run defense when Humber got back but it has pretty much gone the other way. I don't think it is necessarily his fault but the whole front seven has been garbage the past two weeks and we are going downhill fast if they don't adjust. Take Brown out and whoever else even along the line if we don't get consistent play. Time to start playing the process talk and make people hold to it when they obviously aren't
  21. I don't disagree as long as we realize late rounders don't always have star power, heck Taylor is a sixth rounder doesn't mean he will be enshrined.
  22. Sustained offense drives every once in a while wouldn't hurt but these LBs are not starters. Consider McDerm's last job he had Davis and Kuechly and now he has Humber and Preston.
  23. McDerm said what he had to. Every coach would say that right after the game if they had any sense. What they actually do might not change but he is best evaluating rather than opening the door right now. Emotional decisions are bad. Part of the decision has to be what is in the best interest for Peterman. Also what if they do go with Peterman in LA, why give the Chargers any more time to prepare for Peterman? They might go with him in the long run but 5th round QBs don't always become starters.
  24. Garbage time wasn't the main issue because we weren't doing anything against any type of defense that game but the issue with thinking Peterman was successful is the Saints prepared for Taylor, a running QB(albeit one that doesn't run). Taylor doesn't see openings in coverage and throw in anticipation. Peterman was doing it. Taylor is good at making things happen when he can scramble but doesn't see the field real well. The Saints game plan would have been completely different on defense had Peterman been in there. We can't run because throwing is not a real threat. He seems to get thrown off by zones and checks down to short passes in the middle which makes it worse when we run on first and second into a stacked box and said third down is 5 yards too short.
