  1. WR's don't make QB's, you have it backwards...
  2. Sammy is a player who can't stay on the field, that's what Sammy is...
  3. I'd need to see a few more trades to start thinking tank.
  4. I'm not happy that he is gone per-se, I just wish they never traded up in the draft for him, in one of the best WR drafts in recent history... Having to get max value for him is not a win, it shows how inept this franchise really is. Having said all that, Sammy IMO was a bust. If you can't stay on the field, you are useless.
  5. You could never get a first rounder for a guy who can't stay on the field, wake up.
  6. Sammy was a bad deal from the start, that very poor draft trade is making ppl biased. Sammy could not stay healthy, which means he's a bust IMO. At least they got something for him, it's obvious either he had no intention to resign or the Bills were unwilling to pay him.
  7. I dunno, Yates was putting the ball places and his receivers were dicking around and weren't looking for it. QB's have to throw the ball before a receiver makes his break, if the receiver sucks at making a clean break, the QB looks bad, if the QB waits for the receiver he gets sacked, like Tyrod does... Tyrod is still telegraphing his throws and waiting too long. It seems like he will never "get it".
  8. I don't do my picks until after the 3rd preseason game, but looking at the schedule, I can't say I see more than 7 wins. I used to have hope that the Bills would be better than I thought they'd be, but I've done really well with my picks since I became a "realistic" bills fan as opposed to a homer. I have not been a homer since the mid-late 90's...
  9. Glad to hear it. Even happier I never started when I hear stories of ppl having to quit. Same with smoking and drugs. Glad I never fell into those traps just to look cool in front of other teenagers.
  10. And I didn't say it was a great human tragedy... There is risk vs. reward in anything we do. As time goes on, we are seeing the risks of football actually coming to light, the rewards are still far and few between for a very small number of people. To me, it just doesn't make sense to play football anymore and if I had kids they would not be allowed to do so.
  11. Morally wrong to watch football? Oh my, but I should not be surprised, this is the internet... I grew up as a child in the late 70's/early 80's, I know all about playing outside and getting injured. I also know a lot of family members suffering through knee replacements and the like due to high school football. I ran track and played high school football until I found out I had Sever's Disease. My Dr. at the time told me not to play football and save my knees. I took his advice and am sure glad I did. And truth be told, the Bills have sucked for so long, I don't really watch too much live football. Fast forward on the DVR is about all I can stand these days with all the commercial breaks and other shenanigans. But yeah, if I had kids, they would not be playing football, preferably they would be studying like I wound up doing. Challenging your brain will always trump challenging your body in the long run.
  12. IMO, 5-11 is the same as 8-8, you suck either way... 8-8 is actually worse, you don't make the playoff's AND your draft pick sucks.
  13. I think families these days worry about medical insurance etc. Also, your kid is very likely never to become a pro football player, so what is the point of High School football? All it does is ruin your body. Playing football for a few years in high school is not worth the decades of pain you could suffer later in life. It's simply not worth it unless you're going to make millions of dollars playing it, and even then, it still probably isn't worth it...
  14. Only thing that will kill football is if ppl stop watching it. The TV money is what is keeping the league going. Eventually, the NFL will go the way of NASCAR, they will lose a lot of veiwers, the TV money will shrink, it will fade away. I don't think there is a timetable for this collapse, but it will eventually occur.
  15. Wow, the overly optimistic Bills fans sure whine a lot. How can you get so damn upset over a 5-11 prediction when the past nearly two decades has been just that? I don't get it. You guys get fooled season after season...
  16. I would say yes. This happens every season. Someone proposes a realistic W/L record, a bunch of homers cry about it, then by mid season we're talking draft.
  17. Tyrod is better than most ppl think. Having said that, this is the last season he has to prove it.
  18. How do you get that from my post? Weird...
  19. Yeah but we only get him when he's an old man... Typical Bills.
  20. The right answer is to not play football. Do the owners want that? Nope Do the players want that? Nope Do the agents wants that? Nope Do the NFL wives want that? Not if they want their husbands' money... Do the fans want that? Nope There is a right answer, it's just that no one wants to hear it.
  21. Hey, the douche has every right to do his little protests, fine. Now he's realizing there are some consequences. He is free to choose to protest, NFL teams are free to choose not hire him. It's nice we all get to choose.
