  1. So, is that a stat these days? Bad decisions or bad throws, mechanically?
  2. Yates looks really bad to me... I don't play fantasy football, in fact I hate the whole idea of it, so no, I don't pay much attention to players not on the Bills. I only really see other players on NFL Gameday Highlights. I surmise there is a reason I have not seen Bortles on there a whole lot
  3. Well you have it wrong in this instance. He was a high draft pick, I'm not sure I see the issue dumping Yates and picking up Bortles. I can't believe he is THAT bad, I suppose that's why I asked. My goodness, some of you have such hostile intentions on these forums. Putting words in ppl's mouths and even thoughts in their heads...
  4. No I have not. I do know that he's put down an awful lot. I even saw a headline on the CNN.com website about him being a bust. It seems guys like him get at least one second chance/scenery change.
  5. I don't see him as a McBeane type player.
  6. Oh my GOD, one of them will be the #1 WR on this team right??? You seem to have some sort of axe to grind, go grind it somewhere else. Maybe you're just so butthurt about Sammy you need to lash out...
  7. I never said pick him up to be the starter, my goodness... Is he better than Yates?
  8. I think a lot of people will be disappointed by this fight, if you can even call it a fight...
  9. I can't wait for this eclipse, I have seen 3 of them in my lifetime, none of them near a total eclipse.
  10. I guess specifically to reply to that, my take would be: Hogan was/is never going to be a #1 WR, so who cares how intelligent/non-intelligent he is, he's a specialist type player not one of the backbones of an offense. Watkins, Matthews and/or Jones are or will be #1's, that's what I am comparing. Peterman is not the starting QB, nor will he be unless Tyrod has a serious meltdown this season, so at the moment, he is not in the conversation that pertains to how well this team does this season. Maybe he does fit into the paradigm shift OBD is going for, but in terms of this season, no. And as far as Wood goes, I think to play OL positions a player has to be more cerebral by default, plus I guess I never really watch the OL interview videos, I tend to gravitate towards QB and skill positions. And I guess if you're saying that these threads don't start with white players as the subject, well, teams in the NFL don't have very many white players at skill positions. If the Bills had traded away a white #1 WR with Sammy's skillset and drafted a white WR like Jones and traded for a white WR like Matthews, then maybe we could be comparing that situation and the thread would be about white guys...
  11. Well, not really. I said I see a difference in the players McBeane are bringing in, you're acting like I'm surprised that there are smart black athletes... Not surprised, more like intrigued, wondering if it will ultimately work taking the higher character/intelligent players over those who have more raw talent. But you have to go to exceptions to the rules in that scenario correct? Like it or not, there is a paradigm shift at OBD it seems, let's see how it works out! Oh, and as far as the 1990's "fine young articulate man" stuff, honestly, go back to all the draft talk from that era and listen to GM's and other personnel talking about white vs. black athletes back then. To me it is akin to watching old cartoons that were still on TV in the 70's & 80's, the cartoons they don't show on TV these days. I guarantee you there is some very cringe worthy stuff.
  12. Yeah, his latest meltdown was on Monday night.
  13. I think that is just very wrong. You sound like someone with an agenda...
  14. Some team will pick him up, change of scenery, second chance, yadda...
  15. Geno might be getting cut too...
  16. Hmm, Wood may have been a 1st rounder, but has he played like one?
  17. I'm not saying I do, I don't know much about him other than a lot of ppl picking on him lately. Is he better than Yates?
  18. Well, you're looking at the extreme's... We all hear that the game has a large mental aspect to it. What if you draft players that maybe have a little less talent, but a lot more smarts? Players that rely on their brains to be in position rather than their raw athletic ability? Maybe a smarter linebacker doesn't overshoot as much as a super fast linebacker, which one can be more productive? which one is better in a cohesive unit? What if your whole team is smarter?
  19. Good question, maybe that's why he sucks? On to youtube...
  20. ..do the Bills pick him up?
  21. What team ever "fixes" their OL? It is most definitely about putting your fingers in the dike until it's sufficient. Some teams get lucky and have a superb OL, but it never lasts.
  22. What if he is less talented but overall more productive and available?
  23. Huh? They are both in the same boat, same rung on the ladder just under the "franchise QB" rung...
  24. I'm sure there are exceptions, but on the whole, I think your dialect excuse is way off... And yes, fear of public speaking does have a role in this. However, it's definitely something I have noticed already.
