  1. Jordan Phillips and Quinton Jefferson over Toohill... I guess. Beefing up for the winter.
  2. Some guys mature later than others. So while he was only 6'1" he also probably wasn't as strong or strong armed as he would become.
  3. Problem is it's not just clock management, it's situational football. McD has actually gotten better with the clock, imho, since he's grown into the HC role and gave up play calling/DC duties. But he still makes some questionable situational, end of game decisions. The first being not declining the penalty to save time and leave it at 4th and 7, knowing a FG doesn't hurt us much. The other obviously being not having two calls ready for the first failed QB sneak. If you run that play, you have to be ready to go a 2nd time immediately. I also didn't like the end of the half not going for it on 4th down and losing the chance for a double dip around the half. That said, going for it on 4th against KC to put the game away was balls.
  4. I agree Detroit is probably too early to give him significant PT. But Hyde does bring an element we don't really have at Safety now - ball-hawking. We could use Hyde's instincts and coverage skills to generate a few more TOs
  5. Good offenses and offensive coaches tend to dominate our D. Problem is that is what you tend to get in the playoffs.
  6. He might get back to form, but the question should be: do we have the luxury to wait? We're losing seeding, which is important come playoffs. I don't think we should let an obviously currently inferior Milano play every snap over Dorian.
  7. Brady kept saying how the combo of Stafford (savvy vet) and Puka/Kupp was just too much for our zone D. We needed to mix it up more. Stafford actually got pressured some, but he was so comfortable with his reads on our D that he just chucked it to the open spot before he got sacked. The Bills couldn't stop the run either, especially in the first half. That was a rough game against an O that is finally healthy and in sync. We didn't look great against SF either, but got bailed out by TOs. I hate to say it, but Milano might need to sit a little more until fully healthy and up to speed. We also could use Hyde for Hamlin from a coverage standpoint against better passing teams.
  8. So have they abandoned the throwbacks? Still like the all white throwbacks with multiple sleeve stripes and standing buffalo
  9. Not called, but should be a fine. Definitely led with his head.
  10. This isn't the best statistical team, but part of that is because of their efficiency and the reduction in turnovers. The Bills haven't needed to go up and down the field to score and the D is playing opportunistically despite giving up yards in chunks. I think the RB room is the best the Bills have had with Allen. I think the Oline is the best it's been. I think Allen is the best he's been. CB and Dline could also make an argument. Other areas are still improving and if we can get past the divisional round it could very well be the best Allen team so far
  11. It's true. Also MVS stepped right into the vertical role Shaheed had in their O before he got injured. We just don't feature that type of play as much and Josh isn't as accurate on those throws as Carr.
  12. if it goes over the goalpost and would have doinked, is it good or a miss? Do they have to guess whether it would have doinked in or hit it square, or is it like a TD, so long as it crosses the plane of the goalpost it's good....?
  13. Need to see their healthy O (Rice, Pacheco, etc) matched up against our healthy D (Milano, Bernard, ...) to make the call. Probably wont' ever happen. But I did like hanging 30 on them even without Kincaid, Keon and Brown. Winning by two scores is a sign that we've potentially finally passed them.
  14. He's grown on me a lot. Selfless glue player that does a little of everything and alot of blocking.
  15. He's got a pretty good QB throwing to him. Personally, I wanted BTJ, but the cost to trade up probably wasn't worth it.
  16. He's a dog. That's what Josh said and why he wanted him. Still can't separate, but he's a gamer for sure
  17. Bishop was a liability against Houston in the first half. He blew so many plays. But I thought he settled down in the 2nd half and should have been given an opportunity against NYJ. But I guess the Bills see Hamlin as more the FS/Micah Hyde role and Rapp as Poyer. And Rapp at this point is much better than Cole
  18. Samuel is really here for the WR screen game. Brady tried that a lot last year with Diggs and Davis. Samuel should excel at it, but the timing has been off. Josh double clutched on multiple attempts last game b/c of upfield pressure. But otherwise, Samuel is not a very good route runner. He doesn't have a feel for underneath zones like a good slot guy. He runs and then turns around, doesn't move with the QB and the gaps in the zones. I agree though that with his speed, they should be able to find more creative ways to get him in space downfield, in addition to the screen game. The timing is all off with him and Josh and Brady
  19. Yup. Don't even get me started on where we'd be with Josh and DK. Chalk another one up for the masses. It's amazing sometimes how bad the NFL scouts are versus NFL fans, with half the knowledge. Might as well crowd source your picks rather than pay personnel departments.
  20. you can see that Allen has no trust in his WRs. He's tentative and not making throws he would make if Diggs were on the other end. I could also see on each of those throws that were highlighted how Josh was also probably being extra safe with CBs or S that might come off their man to make a play. He just had no faith or conviction in the game plan. He was totally lost. He also has always had a maddening tendency to miss deep touch passes. You saw that with the Hollins overthrow (although a good WR would have caught it) and the Kincaid underthrow. Placement was just off.
  21. Fault for what? End of the game fiascos, coaching to lose = McDermott But he runs a good locker room and is a good defensive coach. Failing to build a winning team around a generational talent at QB = Beane So I blame them both
  22. I appreciate the concept of 12 personnel, but you have to throw it to Knox occasionally. They got him a few nice looks the first game, but nothing schemed for him since, it seems. I don't know what's going to with Brady's O, but teams seemed to have figured it out quickly. Josh does not look comfortable, especially when the pressure comes. Trading up for Kincaid (giving up a 4th) after Knox had just signed that extension seems like a mistake in hindsight. They could have gotten a guy like Josh Downs later, as a better underneath option
  23. I have NO trust in them. They continually overdraft some positions, under draft others. Make poor decisions and then let draft picks go that shine with other teams.
  24. As many of us predicted, the lack of outside WRs that can win one-on-ones shrinks the field to in-between the hashes. Teams are flooding with short zone coverages as there is no real vertical or outside threat. It only took 3 weeks of tape for teams to figure out how to stop our O. Brady needs to adapt, and we need that outside WR that everyone was craving
