2023 Salary Cap numbers released
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
So that means we'll have about 20M to spend and the figures for Tremaine Edmunds are 14-16M, plus the roster filler types like AJ Klein etc., yes money can be manipulated but we could also end up like the Saints and they're still 57M in the hole from the Brees days. Beane stated at his press conference that they can manipulate the cap but also want to be smart about it. -
So you even state he's not the best choice out there but giving the Saints our first and 2nd round picks anyways because he's a step up? Seems logical.

All GM's Make Mistakes

20M over the cap, It's going to be a hell of steep hill for this staff but like you've stated, it's their own doing. -
Beane End of Year Presser
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not trying to be a debbie downer but his drafting hasn't been his strong suit. 2 second and 2 first round picks on the DL. They would also then have a giant hole at DT oh and were 20M over the cap. I haven't totally lost faith in this staff but this is going to be a huge offseason for everyone involved (Beane/McDermott). If it's another stinker in the playoffs can they be trusted after that? Again I'm hoping it doesn't come to that because I really like McDermott and Beane but you have to think the leash just got at least a little shorter right? -
Thanks for the hot take.

Way too early to tell if this was a bad pick or not.

Jim Johnson was McD’s mentor. Where’s his defense?
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
2 second round DL, 2- first round DL and only 1 sack on Burrow, all of these players were in the game and in full health. There were 3 Bengals OL out with injury, The injury excuse is BS, we were dominated on both the OL and DL. We need better players in the trenches and can't just count on Von miller and Micah Hyde. -
They need guys who can rush the passer and OL who can block for Josh and the run game, if we count on 2 people and they get hurt or have an off game we will continue to have games like this. This Bengals game was an eye opener, I've watched it 3 times now and I want to know how a 3 man rush got to Josh Allen but we get 1 sack on Joe Burrow with 3 starting OL out for the Bengals. I've not been a fan of Frazier for awhile but I thought maybe after the 13 seconds debacle that he would be more creative and possibly adjust on the fly if things aren't working but he doesn't and wont. I understand that Frazier is running a version of McDermott's defense but is there nobody out there who can maybe add a more fresh perspective? When the defense wasn't working at all why didn't McDermott pull the reigns and take it over himself? Failing again and again and thinking it will correct itself is setting yourself up for failure. It's going to be interesting to see what they can possibly do with very little cap and all these holes to fill.

I don't know about this, they did have a bunch of things happen throughout the season, all terrible but they could have let up in the NE game or Miami in the playoffs. We got dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball, clear as day....Dominated! And when Josh Allen couldn't get it done we had no chance, I just heard that our best DL for the season was 43rd in the NFL in win rate since Von Miller wen down. So now we only have 1 guy on offense doing everything and 1 guy on defense doing everything and when they don't do everything we have a game like we saw against the Bengals. I can't get the 3 man rush the Bengals had on a play and hurried Josh Allen with a 3 man rush. We have 2-1st round and 2-2nd round DL and our best player is 43rd in win rate. We have alot of work to do in the offseason that's for sure.

2 first round picks and 2 second round picks on the DL and we're 43rd in win rate? That's not alarming!

Singletary or Hines or neither?
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I see us letting Singletary walk and drafting a 4th-5th round lead type back, a guy like Kendre Miller TCU or Sean Tucker of Syracuse. Drafting Cook in the 2nd round makes me believe he's going to be the man and Hines has years on his deal and will be cheaper than Singletary. Although I like Singletary he doesn't get the carries that would justify the contract he'll be getting/wanting imo but I really liked him when he was called upon. -
We have a great #2 WR in Dawson Knox, it was unfortunate that his brother passed away but this guy imo can be another Travis Kelce when his head is back in the game. Towards the end of the season he started showing his dominance but the fact that they needed him to block more and the situation with his brother took away a solid option for us. Get this man a bunch of dedicated plays to get him open.

Mel Kiper is back and you won’t like it
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm a fan of Mel Kiper Jr., my father used to do light scouting back in the day on college players back in the early to late 80's . He used to get Mel Kiper's books of all the college players. If you actually read the books he doesn't project who a team should take or what holes they have he picks based on value, both value of the player to the value of where you're actually picking. All the major college players are ranked by coaching staffs and draft gurus, that's why so many so called gurus/experts don't get the picks right. Most gurus don't have the same rankings at all compared to the actual coaching staffs/scouts etc. so when Mel Kiper put we need a pass rusher it's because the value of the player fits the value of the pick but it could be totally different now since I haven't read anything from him since the 90's. -

I seriously doubt they'll get rid of Dorsey since Allen put up about the exact same stats when Daboll was here not that I agree with it but for those hoping for a new OC may be disappointed. If he stays OC (I believe he will) then I hope he gets more creative with screens to RB's and also incorporate TE Dawson Know alot more, this guy should be on Travis Kelce type of level but his brother passing away clearly had an affect on him and understandably so. Lets hope for bigger things in 2023-2024

The Bills have a Tre White problem
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 replied to Back2Buff's topic in The Stadium Wall
What are you going on about? Mac Jones had 195 yards and 1 TD in the 1st meeting, 2nd meeting Mac Jones threw for 243 yards 3 TD and 3 INT (Tre White had an INT in this game) . If you're going to trash someone at least do a little homework first. -
