I agree somewhat to what Simms is saying but take the 3 teams Simms is mentioning here.... The Bengals, Eagles and 49ers, all 3 of these teams have QB's on rookie contracts, when Burrow, Hurts and either Purdy or Lance reup the contract they'll also be making big decisions. We should have more talent around Josh and on defense but that's what happens when you don't draft well or is it on coaching? Yes Leslie Frazier runs a version of Sean McDermott's defense but another DC may have a much better version that allows us to get to the QB better, we can't just keep doing the same things and expecting different results. I don't know if Dorsey's offense is good enough for where we want to be but it's hard to tell in just 1 season.

Are you sure you want to pick a new HC, our last 4 before McDermott were Rex Ryan, Doug Marrone, Chan Gailey and Dick Jauron. Are you positive this is what you want? Who other than Sean Payton would you like as HC here? Payton doesn't make sense for us, giving up a 1st or multiple 1sts for a HC when we need OL to protect Josh Allen doesn't make much sense imo so who else would be your choice.

I've watched the Bills in the playoffs for the past 4 decades back to the 1980 season and I have to say no opposition opening drive has ever foreshadowed a game more than what the Bengals did today to start off. Sure there have been some terrible Bills teams who have given up terrible opening drives in the regular season (McD era teams have been actually really bad at this) but this is the playoffs. No playoff Bills team I can recall ever took such a punch to the face as the Bills did on the opening drive today. The drive planted the momentum to the Bengals and they never gave it back. The drive was so easy and so effortless that it immediately took the crowd out of the game and oddly seemed to permanently deflate the Bills D going forward. It also exposed Frazier for the fraud that he is defensively with Bengals receivers wide open on every down, no pass rush, a D line getting gashed on runs and a QB completing every single pass. In short it was like a Mike Tyson knockdown or standing 8 count in the first minute of the first round. I just cant get my head around how the Bills (especially Frazier)could have possibly have been so poorly prepared for what they knew the Bengals could do. Its almost as if Frazier didn't watch any film at all this week on the Bengals. One of their best O Lineman was out, yet no pressure or scheme to that side. If this isn't enough to get Frazier fired, I simply don't know what is?
I'm a huge "It's not how you start , it's how you finish" guy and the team did not start or finish. You will never win a game if you can't start or finish no matter what sport.

Serious question that I’m too lazy to dig on. Did Groot have any sacks after Von went down?
3 sacks and a forced fumble.

Josh didn’t lose this game and for years he has made plays no player in FB can make.
Favre was the same way and he ended up winning a title, but for how great he was, generating multiple MVP’s, widely considered one of the best of all time…..He just wasn’t consistent enough to be a late season closer. He made deep playoff runs each year, but each year he would typically be the team who lost in the Divisional or Championship round only making one SB.
Josh is similar to Favre. He is adored for his guts and heart and recognized for his freakish ability to do things nobody else can. With this, he’s been the bridesmaid for several years now. At this point I don’t know how anybody could make Buffalo the favorites. They will challenge each year, but at the end of the day, better or worse, we ride Allen’s back on offense and that just doesn’t work against the better teams for multiple games in a row. It’s also not always on Josh where that breakdown occurs. Our version of the Tampa 2 doesn’t seem to hold past the Wild Card.
I wish I knew the fix. I don’t think one exists. Like Favre, I think we will win a Super Bowl one day. With that, we will never be consistent. We will constantly be in the deep playoffs but we won’t break into being in the SB with consistency. What allows us to get to that position is also the thing that prevents us form consistently getting deeper. We will remain a lethal team but eventually our style will hinder our ability to get far or deep in the playoffs with consistency.
Rodgers- 1 SB ring
Brees- 1 SB ring
Wilson- 1 SB ring
Favre- 1 SB ring
Stafford- 1 SB ring
Marino- 0 SB rings
Kelly- 0SB rings
It's very difficult to go to a SB yet win it multiple times. There are some big names who only have 1 or never won any, I'll start with even 1 I'm not greedy!

McDermott is terrible situationally.
Beane has consistently whiffed on early round draft picks.
we don’t have any difference makers on any level of defense for a defensive head coach lead team (besides a 34 year old 140 million dollar DE with a bad knee)
you can’t miss on that many draft picks and expect to have a good team
#17 is so good he makes up for a lot of weaknesses on this team until you play a team who can expose them6 years going on 7 and the o line, d line are soft. We don’t have any playmakers/difference makers besides Allen and diggs and there’s no salary cap space
This isn’t a one off season fix. Teams in our own division are getting better. We’re going to take a step back before we move forward
I also firmly believe we let the best coach on the staff leave for NY and we’re going to feel the backlash for years to come
Other than Sean Payton who is now everyones shiny new toy who is the HC you want to replace him with?

I never recall calling Rousseau elite but I think he's turning into a really solid pass rusher for us, it's unfortunate he didn't show up today when we needed him but he isn't a bum like Epenesa that's for sure.

Allen and Diggs.
worst OL in the playoffs (yes worse than MIA and CINCY with their BUs).
worst weapon group in the playoffs.
bit ***** so glad we keep investing in Defense because you know in this NFL the defense becomes immediately irrelevant against Top offenses.
I totally disagree with this take of yours and you can go back to the last few SB's for actual proof. It was the defense of the Rams that won that SB last year, 7 sacks and were in Burrows face all game long. The Bengals defense were also really good with 2 sacks, 2 INT and that's why the game was so close.
How about the Bucs vs Chiefs SB? 3 sacks, 2 INT, 0 TD passes or rushing TD and they harassed Mahomes the entire game. Brady only threw for 201 yards yards that game. To think we can just let the defense ***** the bed and hope to win a SB like that is stupid. Make smart moves in FA like another Lorax pickup or something like that because there is no way we can afford to re-sign everyone.

Why we don't run the ball nearly enough or pass/screen passes to RB's enough to warrant adding him.

"Good enough" is good enough.
You do know that Tomlin has a SB ring and no losing season in 18 years correct? What HC is coming in and beating that?

OK, please feel free to point us at them. Hit me in PM if you need to know how to link a previous post.
Totally fair not to rehash what you've previously spelled out, totally not good enough to leave it at "He just is, for reasons" and expect to be taken seriously in a thread specifically about Dorsey.
I think the "once in a while" is part of the problem.
Eric Wood had a piece where he was discussing the Bills problems with screens and he said when the Bills were running them successfully under Gailey and with Roman as OC, they practiced them A LOT to get the timing down.
We have Singletary who can catch, Cook who can take any pass to the house and Hines who is noted for his catching ability. There is no reason why we don't try more RB screen plays to use these players to our advantage.

Yeah just watched it.
I’m more convinced now than I was watching the game.
Josh and Dorsey know exactly what they’re doing.
Our media and fans who are clamoring for run plays and checkdowns are out their minds.
He makes the defense defend every blade of grass.
Ignore our media, ignore the 4 yard checkdowns and make plays.
Bombs away on the Pats = should have been 42-points on the board if Gabe doesn’t drop the ball.
Yesterday he throws for 350 with a 50-yard drop from Shakir.
Our QB is awesome and our OC recognizes that.
But no media and fans, let’s run right out there are get Frank Reich or Joe Lombardi so we can lead the league in RB screens.
Man I wish we would do more RB screens, that would be a thing of beauty once in awhile.

Who do you think should win? My vote is for Daboll:
1. He inherited a team with almost no talent outside Saquon Barkley and currently has them in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
2. He turned Danny Dimes into a threat at QB and legitimately makes him look like a poor-man’s Allen.
3. His already talent-deprived team was further decimated by injuries - especially at WR, and they basically have an entire new WR Corps from Week 1 and are all performing at a high level. It’s super impressive.4. Daboll’s massive watermelons between his legs set the tone for the season week 1 when his team went up agains the Titans, who were 12-5 last season, and instead of playing to not lose, he played to win and went for 2 late in the game with a minute left to win the game.
I miss that man. Im very happy for him. He deserves to win AP Coach of the Year.
I went with Dan Campbell, what he did with the Lions this season is nothing short of a miracle with Jared Goff as his QB, the team played hard against almost every team they played.

Mitch Morse presser is a must-watch
“Do you remember a time when you’ve been fired up on the football field as you were today protecting Josh?”
”Um…. No.”
(Then says a lot of classy stuff about let’s not make it bigger than it was, we talked afterwards, I have a lot of respect for the way he plays, he’s a competitive guy)
“Tempers flare on the football field, we had our moment, then it was mitigated and we were able to continue playing…but No. I’ve never been…No.”
”When you see your QB in trouble for want of a better word, what’s the thought process for an offensive lineman?”
”In the moment, you sort of lose consciousness for a little bit”
”I mean, that’s your Guy, that’s your Quarterback, you just want to be there for him. And it escalated, like you saw”
Gotta actually watch the interview, it’s the tone of voice and the body language that are priceless.
Like Mitch Morse underwent a transformation on the football field and discovered an inner Hulk he didn’t know he had, and is kind of taken aback by it
Bonus: at the end, someone asks Dion “How that third date went?”
We can't him losing consciousness anymore.

I'm at about 65%. I think the bills are the better team overall, but we've watched them shoot themselves in the foot so many times this season. While I think the bills are fully capable of playing a mistake free game, it's hard to comprehend they will. Being at home is a big advantage (I think).
100%, not even a doubt we will win. People/fans are really underselling our defense, it gives up plays but also gets a bunch of pressure, 4 sacks, 2 INT last game against a division opponent that wouldn't go down without a fight but guess what we won yet another close game that we were told we can't win close games.
The Bengals won on a miracle fumble, Joe Burrow only had 209 passing yards 1 TD and 1 rushing TD, the best WR Jamarr Chase had 9 REC, 84 yards, 1 TD. They are very beatable and we now know the blue print, run on them or pass on them since they are giving up yards in the air and on the ground. 226 passing yards 2 TD from Huntley and over 150 yards total rushing. They are definitely beatable and the defense of the Bengals had 1 INT, 2 sacks and a FR for a TD, other than that miracle fumble the team as a whole didn't play all that great imo and yes another tough division opponent for them also.

That sucks, I want to beat these guys fair and square. Not sure why many are afraid of this game, these are the games that put you on another level like the Chiefs, to be the best you have to beat the best and no doubt were going to slay the kitty cats this weekend, no doubts whatsoever.

Who else thought his arm looked dead? That he just looked old and tired? In my opinion, if he continues to play, next season could be a disaster for his new team.
I don't think his arm looked dead I think his OL was letting him get killed. It was almost a free runner coming at him every pass play and that was before the game was out of hand. That is the blueprint to beating a high flying offense, get to the QB. All of Brady's SB losses were to to the pressure he received, same with mahomes against the Bucs, they dominated the Chiefs OL and what did the Chiefs do? Went out and revamped the OL which is exactly what we should do at the end of this season.

Folks need to just accept the Bengals are scoring 27-34 points.
This defense is a hot mess without Hyde, his back up, and Miller.
More importantly, Oliver is not close to 100 percent. Neither is Poyer. And Philips being out is a big deal.
It can be over come because of our O. So we need to take every possession as if we need 7 - Josh can’t slack and Dorsey needs to be on point.
I don't agree with this at all, I thought the defense did a solid job, it was the offense who actually put us in the hole , 3 turnovers and the defense had 4 sacks and 2 INT.

They're coming into our house and we have Allen, I have no doubts we're winning this game!

I can't hate on any of those moves but it might be tough to sign all 3 OL when we still have Edmunds to re-sign , he is going to be at least 14M a season or more if we decide to keep him. Also we have to evaluate Tre White, has he lost a step or was it just rust from missing a year? He was slow and grabbed on almost every single play and was terrible in the Bengals game. Can he take Poyer's spot at S? Or do we have to wait until 2025 to rid ourselves of that contract if he's not the same player? I think this would definitely help the OL with those 3 players but to think all 3 would come here is also a stretch imo.
