  1. That's going to be brutal, Cohen and TE Burton will have a field day.
  2. Nobody is convincinge this is a tank, if it were we would have shipped off McCoy, Meatball, Hughes and other vets for draft picks. Not 1 of them were traded which says to me they just weren't talented enough on offense. It happens when you have 2 of your top OL retire, a rookie QB and an average WR corps. I expect the OL, WR to look almost entirely different. Almost all new regimes coming in change personal. This staff had to switch the entire defense from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and also schemes in the secondary, not sure why anyone would think this is a full rebuild when we got rid of 0 vets and signed a WR at the trade deadline, just my opinion though.
  3. They are definitely an up and down team that relies on dominant play from their defense, getting Mack was the missing piece for them. On offense trubisky has been streaky, WR Allen Robinson has been injured for the past 3-4 weeks so their TE Trey Burton has really been the focal point and the 1-2 punch at RB in Jordan Howard/Tarik Cohen has been working well for them. Our defense seems to suck at identifying and shutting down screen passes which james White burned us on all game against the pats and Cohen is a faster version. Edmunds is going to have to be lights out in this one to win the game in coverage against Burton and identifying the screen passes imo.
  4. I can see us needing a WR but Croom looks like he could be decent, he seems to get open when given the chance and I'd like to see more of him before going high for a TE imo.
  5. This has been discussed so much on here, you have the "this regime sucks no matter what they do" crowd and the "this regime can do no wrong crowd", I'm stuck somewhere in the middle. It's hard to judge this group, they have brought over their 4-3 group after abandoning the 3-4 group, got rid of the players they didn't see as scheme fits or locker room leaders. You state there is only 1 passable OL (I'm assuming you mean Dawkins) and that may be true but you forget to mention 2 of our players retired, were former G Pro Bowlers available to us during FA? Did we offer them a contract? We don't know this regime can find 4 starters but how do we know they can''t? It works both ways. Again like the OL comment you made, you comment on the "QB situation so badly handled", there have been links, including ones I have posted on this very subject stating that the Bills were in negotiations with not only Bradford, McCown but also Case Keenum well the 1st 2 I know for sure but they were said to be interested in Keenum and all of them appeared to have better WR situations which is why I'm assuming they went elsewhere, we also have no way of knowing how many other QB's they reached out to, tried trading for, etc. behind closed doors. They did what most GM/HC staff does when rebuilding, they concentrated on one side of the ball heavily, being a defensive minded coach he took care of the defense first and now we have our QB and what appears to be at the very least a #2 WR in Zay Jones, Marcus Murphy has potential at RB and Croom could also be a solid TE option for us down the road. To me this entire rebuild should be almost complete after the offseason. Plenty of OL help, not much in the form of WR, maybe offer John Brown another deal? Who knows but it's hard not to get excited, plus we have 10 picks, yes there are a bunch of lower round picks also but the more chances you have the more chances of good players also. How could you not be excited about the draft? Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, Josh Allen, Terron Johnson, Harrison Phillips, Zay Jones , Trey White those are all very good building blocks for the future.
  6. Pretty much all the OL they mentioned here I was wanting them to sign in the FA thread... Matt Paradis would be such a great signing but Denver just freed up some cash after trading away Deymarius Thomas. G Rodger Saffold would be another excellent addition and so would Spain from the titans. I'm not a real fan of brown or James at RT though. I also had both John Brown and Tyrell Williams as WR options next year but to me Zay jones has emerged into our #2, John Brown in the slot would be awesome with a rookie #1 WR like Kelvin Harmon of NC State imo. That would be a heck of an offseason/Draft I'd say.
  7. You can definitely see the difference from last season, with viable QB play I think he'll be just fine as it usually takes a WR 3 seasons to start living up to the draft status.
  8. Is that a true story? I thought I read he was on vacation with his family, my mistake. Any word on his arm?
  9. I don't think the defense would be playing at an elite level if that were true.
  10. I don't think you can start him, this would definitely cause a rift in the locker imo.
  11. It's one thing to put players in positions to make plays and another to make miracles, the fact that this offense was keeping up until the end was a miracle in itself, you do understand our veteran QB even being a veteran was on the couch at home with his family now he is the starter of our football team, it's crazy that they didn't put up another 40 burger on us. I just feel for the defense who usually is the reason were in these games in the first place.
  12. I think we do some major overhauling to the offense in the offseason, they haven't sat on their hands with the offense it's just a young group... QB Josh Allen, WR Zay Jones , RB Chris Ivory, RB Marcus Murphy, OT Dion Dawkins, that isn't doing jack *****, they just need to start maturing now and progressing.
  13. It doesn't really make sense for our rebuilding team, we'll be viable in 2 years is my thinking and by then Thomas will be most likely washed up. I see us drafting a 1st or 2nd round WR in this years draft while picking up a veteran like John Brown imo. Draft and develop then hopefully resign later on should be the way we go from here on out I'm hoping.
  14. The Steelers went to the SB with Neil O'Donnell at QB, were a playoff team with both Bubby Brister and Tommy Maddox, it wasn't pretty before the arrival of Big Ben for the Steelers but things weren't terrible, they always had dominant defense with game managing offense after Bradshaw and before big Ben.
  15. I'm just asking not being a dick but there is almost a thread every day on this very subject. To me it looks like the classic fix one half of your problem areas this year and take care of the other problem areas the year after. I think they went heavy defensively the past 2 seasons... CB Tre White, ILB Edmunds, CB Johnson, S Hyde, S Poyer, DT Louteleilei, DE Murphy, DT Phillips, LB Milano they have basically redid the entire defense from a 3-4 group to the 4-3, you can't take care of everything in 1 season there just isn't enough money or draft picks to go around. I fully expect to see a whole new OL, WR core, possibly a TE, RB and backup veteran QB, we'll spend some lute for sure on free agents. I'm not sure how anyone can say this regime is a failure, in reality they had to clear out all of Doug Whaley/Rex Ryan's failures that was first and foremost. I think we'll see more who this group really are as talent evaluators and coaches after free agency and the draft but that's just my take.
  16. So were giving up assets for a guy we tossed away years ago because he couldn't win games? He only gets better? Please tell me plan B, I'm not a fan of your plan A to be honest.
  17. The 1st question you had about why we didn't sign a veteran QB, well I copied an article in another thread that said the Bills were looking to sign Sam bradford but obviously he opted for Arizona, Found another one where they were interested in Case Keenum and again, the WR position probably seemed better for him there is the only reason I could think of because both would be starters here also right now. So to say we didn't try to find a veteran to mentor Allen seems far fetched and we don't even know a 1/3 of what happens behind those doors, they could have been offers draft picks for a QB we have no idea of the situation. As far as the WR coach hired as a QB coach, he was recommended by Andy Reid so I'd think that would have a big influence on the decision.
  18. I fully expect to have a young WR core here next season and a veteran FA, I don't see us blowing a draft pick on a 31 year old WR who Derek Anderson or Nate peterman couldn't even get the ball to because they have noodle arms. Zay Jones, a rookie WR in the 1st or 2nd round and a veteran WR not named Benjamin is my guess.
  19. From what I've read many of the GM/HC are a shared position in the NFL.
  20. So many teams have swung and missed on QB's, it's the hardest position in football to get right, when teams do they're genius' and when they don't it's always hindsight to lay blame,. How could the Bills have passed on Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahommes, Deshaun Watson, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and countless others? Besides the obvious fact of not having a GM made it next to impossible to sign a QB, I doubt any respectable GM would have come here with a QB that the HC just drafted even Beane for that matter. I don't think I've ever heard or scene a scenario like that but I'm not sure. The second opinion of mine would be that Mcdermott worked out the QB prospects and didn't think they fit here for whatever reason, just my 2 pennies.
  21. I agree with you, plus CB Teron Johnson and DT Harrison Phillips also look promising at this point, here's to hoping my brothers. ??
  22. He's going to be a star for us no doubt and to think he's only 20 years old is quite exciting. We have our Keuchly I believe.
