  1. "I can play if I stay out of trouble" ??? Wtf, how old is this guy? 12? Just stay out of trouble then you idiot. Ridiculous thing to say at 26.
  2. Cool to see how they managed to get the guys they were after those first 4 or 5 picks.
  3. Not that it matters but Johnson and Joseph did not test particularly well either, Joseph's 3 cone and shuttle times were ridiculously slow. He was coming off a hamstring issue though. Johnson was slow as well, especially for his size. I understand that the game is played on the field and not at the combine workout, I am always leery of workout warriors who rocket up the board after the combine which is why I was glad the Bills were not targeting DK. Getting Oliver and Ford first 2 picks was like having two top 15 draft choices and two of my top choices. Unfolded perfectly for the Bills imo.
  4. I got to meet Jack Kemp with Elbert Dubenion and Ernie Warlick in 66 or 67 when I was around 6. My dad brought me and 3 older brothers over and introduced us. We were big fans and it was quite an honor. It was at a non football related event and they couldn't have been any nicer. I was obviously little and Ernie was like a giant. Jack had a lot of charisma, very smooth. Tim's dad Big Russ was the same age as my parents in South Buffalo and my oldest brother went to high school with Tim and hung out together in the neighborhood sometimes. Brother said he was a great guy. Good family, well liked and loved in SB. Was a shame Tim Jr. died before his dad, as did my oldest brother before my dad. Never saw my dad so heartbroken, he was generally a rock.
  5. I was merely responding to what Logic posted of the article in the OP, don't have access to that site. The excerpt struck me as defensive in nature and not overly positive, Beane used the word miss 4 times in the 4 sentences he posted about Singletary. He talks about 7 other guys and doesn't use the word again once. P.S. Personal attacks are unwarranted and don't add to the discussion. I get it. The original post was out of context.
  6. I get what he is saying about football not being played at the combine, but the quote taken alone out of context just didn't strike me as a great endorsement.
  7. Regarding Devin Singletary: “We’re still playing football. If I’m going to miss on a guy, I wantto miss on a guy that I saw being a really good football player versus a guy who I questioned his football ability but he was a really good tester. We’re all going to miss on players. I would rather miss on a guy like this." Wow, not exactly a ringing endorsement. Seems like strange reasoning for an early 3rd round pick. It's like he is already making an excuse for a pick he wasn't sure of.
  8. Turned on the Bucks Celtics 3rd qtr, Bucks go on a 24 to 2 run to take the lead from 3 to 25 and Stevens doesn't call one timeout the entire run even though he has 5. How ***** stupid.
  9. Must be a relative of the abominable snowman I'm thinking.
  10. He was actually the first 5 star recruit in history to go to a non power 5 conference team.
  11. Elmer Fudd nursing a sick Billy Buffalo with blue kool-aid. ?
  12. My cousin worked in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the Organized Crime Task Force in the Attorney General’s Office in New York and was one of the lead investigators and prosecutors in the case against the Gambino crime family that put John Gotti away for good. They had wiretaps, video and audio surveillance of various clubs and restaurants, a confidential civilian informant and an undercover agent on the inside.
  13. Cody Ford is a beast and was a steal where the Bills got him imo. Like having 2 first round picks.
  14. Cautiously optimistic. Definitely significant improvement to the off. line, Ed Oliver will play right away and solidify the interior d. Good secondary additions. Concerned about the offensive skill positions. Yeldon has never impressed me in the least. Read a poster saying he is an elite pass catcher, he is not elite at anything. The wr room is small and lacks elite talent. The rbs are also small and lack power. I would have much preferred Spencer Ware to Yeldon. More powerful runner and good hands out of the backfield. Hope I am wrong and Allen has the weapons he needs to excel but have to admit I am a little bit skeptical at this point. Excited to see how it all comes together and definitely think they are significantly improved talent wise on both sides of the ball.
  15. My comment wasn't regarding the Bills choice of Singletary, just felt that Winovich is being a bit mischaracterized. It is interesting to me though that the Bills had Singletary as best player available there. I could not find a single big board on line that felt the same, although I am sure there must be some out there. Another guy the Bills passed on here that I think is gonna be good and will be a matchup nightmare is Hakeem Butler. You can't teach 6'5" 230lb and 4.48 speed. He had too many drops but excels at contested catches down the field and had more 20+ yd receptions than anyone in the draft. He also is an aggressive beast with the ball after the catch, regularly crumpling cbs. I am definitely rooting for Singletary to succeed and I mostly loved the Bills draft. This was one spot where I questioned their board. Hoping that they were right and I was wrong.
  16. Winovich is not just a high motor lunch pail guy, he is almost 260 lbs and was faster and quicker than 203 lb Singletary in the 40, 3 cone, and 20 yd shuttle. His 40 was 4th among EDGE prospects, 3 cone 3rd, and 20 yd shuttle 1st. He is an athlete with good technique and good production against high level competition. I will be surprised if he doesn't have a good career in the NFL.
  17. Not a comment regarding the need for speed at rb, but Thurman at 4.47 was decidedly faster than Emmitt Smith.
  18. I had heard that, interesting that the link you posted talks about his high drop rate and then finishes by giving him a 2nd rnd grade. I have no doubt the drops were a big reason for his drop but I still have a feeling he is gonna be really good.
  19. I didn't see any UB football this year and don't know much about him, I just know that he was on a lot of analysts big boards and was expected by many to be drafted. A lot of the receivers dropped lower in the draft than expected it seems. Hakeem Butler, a 6'5" speedy receiver with the most 20 plus yd rec of anyone in the draft went in the 4th rnd. Personally I think he will end up being a steal.
  20. You only mention his weaknesses. The same guy who wrote that analysis gave him a 4th rnd grade.
  21. WR ANTHONY JOHNSON, BUFFALO (OVERALL: 171ST) Among draft-eligible FBS wide receivers with at least 100 targets over the past two seasons, Johnson ranked tied for first in receptions of 15-plus yards (61) and second in yards per route run (3.48). I don't think the pff team of analysts are Buffalo homers, NFL.com had a 4th round grade on him. Pretty sure they are not homers either.
