Will we pay Poyer or won't we?

What good would that do him? He is still under contract and not getting younger. If anything I would think he would play out his final year trying to prove them wrong and then leave in free agency. -

I dont think it is a high priority at the moment. He is under contract for this year already and will be 30 before his next contract. See how he performs this year and go from there. -
He will be turning 34 in the season after next and will have made over 70 million dollars. I'm sure he will be really motivated to land another big contract(sarcasm font). According to some reports he is overweight, slow and sluggish. Let's see if he can pass the physical, make it through training camp and still play football at a decent level before thinking he will be shooting for another contract at 34. Enough with the McBeane know him best because they coached him. They also coached Benjamin, Vontae, etc. The last time they had Norman was five seasons ago when he was 27/28. Like I said, hopefully not much in guarantees in case he's toast. Hopefully the change of scenery and the reunion with McBeane recharges him and it works out great.
-
Are details out? How much is guaranteed? He has been absolutely terrible the last couple years. I know about the different systems and all, but hoping he makes a big comeback at 32 requires some wishful thinking. I hope the guarantee is small in case they find out he's toast.

Free Agency News and Updates - around the league

Former Bills draftee Jonathan Williams is a free agent after playing really well at Indy this past season filling in for Mack. Is he the guy who showed up at camp way overweight and blamed it on his pregnant girlfriend? -
My first impression, besides how ugly, was Chargers.

Nike determines a teams logo? I don't think so.

I don't disagree with this, my point is that the Bills need a better line now, not waiting until Ford is good enough at tackle. If Ford is not ready at tackle yet but could play well at guard then that is where he should play. There have been plenty of guards taken in the top 90 picks by the way. Also plenty of tackles taken who ended up as guard. The situation should be fluid and Ford should be playing where he helps the Bills most, not limited to where they intended him to play.

Cody Ford leaving Sooners early for NFL draft Facebook Twitter Facebook Messenger Email Jan 1, 2019 Jake TrotterESPN Staff Writer Oklahoma junior offensive lineman Cody Ford announced Tuesday that he will enter the NFL draft early. Ford was a first-team All-Big 12 selection for the Sooners, who won the Joe Moore Award for having the best offensive line in college football. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Ford as the No. 3 available guard in the upcoming draft. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Ford was a guard through high school and college until injuries required he switch. Many draft analysts considered him a natural guard and noted that he would need improved footwork to deal with speed on the outside as a tackle. He is young, if he can be a good guard now then that would be great. There is no reason he couldn't play tackle down the road as well. Bottom line is that the Bills absolutely need to get better on the oline as it was improved but still a weakness.

That interview with the booth official was an embarrassment and the refs should have been wearing clown shoes running off the field. Another puzzling thing was the guy who got ejected for throwing a punch was yuckin it up on the sideline and signing autographs. Don't you have to go to the locker room when ejected?
-
That was bizarre, as if no one there knew that the clock stops after 4th down. They didn't even look at it and none of the players seemed to notice or care either. Weird.
-
Just caught the last few minutes. Ridiculously bad look, why should anyone take their game seriously when they don't. Terrible, what a joke. How could all the refs miss that? I knew immediately there was time left on the clock.

Name 3 FA WR who interest you...Go!
Turk71 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perriman and Latimer are both 6'2" 215, McKenzie is 5'8" 173. They are not similar types of receivers. Latimer is as fast as McKenzie despite being 40 lbs heavier and Perriman is significantly faster than both. I don't think a free agent would be replacing McKenzie necessarily either. The Bills have other receivers who would be let go before him. -

6'2" 215 lb 4.24 40 Breshad Perriman is my top choice. Big, strong, ridiculously fast, and just starting to show why he was a 1st round draft choice. I think his price range will be worth the risk. Having him opposite Brown will spread the defense and open up more of the field. Here are highlights from a couple of his last games when Evans and Godwin were hurt and he became #1 option. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.nfl.com/videos/player-highlights/0ap3000001092673/Every-catch-from-Breshad-Perriman-s-134-yard-game-Week-17&ved=2ahUKEwiV_5qo6ofoAhUmCjQIHS8FARcQwqsBMAN6BAgGEA0&usg=AOvVaw0Y2H9Ifx_OjsmZ-b2wlBNM -
He has great athleticism but if he drops 20% of his targets again that's a deal breaker. That is just wayyyy too many drops. At this point I don't think the Bills have a single tight end they can fully count on. Hopefully Knox can become that guy but he hasn't shown any consistency yet. This is one of the positions I hope they target in free agency.

August 20, 1969 was the last time the Beatles all recorded together. They were working on the over-dubs for 'I Want You'. Abbey Road was the last album The Beatles recorded together.
-
Abbey Road was the first album I ever bought. I was only 8 when it came out and saved money helping one of my older brother's with his Courier-Express paper route. My oldest brother was 18 and took me to get it. I think it was $4. I only had a couple bucks so he paid the rest. I still have that copy which is pretty beat up but have acquired a nice near mint copy for playing. A great album that stands the test of time imo.

Poyer is already under contract for next season. I doubt giving him an extension is a high priority for the Bills, he will be 30 before the first year of any extension given. -

He did play 17 out of 17 games this year and only missed 2 the year before I believe. I have read two different articles saying he had one of the best seasons of his career. I think he would be a great addition for a couple years while they groom a draft pick to replace him. Especially if Conklin is not an option.
