  1. I saw Kingfish a few times, Mathew Kelly ripped on guitar. 87 in Telluride at the Fly Me to the Moon saloon was a night I won't forget, for many reasons.?
  2. Bjorn Ulvaeus' first cousin is a good friend of mine, she lives in Santa Barbara. If pop is your thing Abba was as poppy as it gets, at one time they sold more albums then any group in history. It may still be true for all I know. Shopping music for girls as far as I'm concerned, but to each their own. Cant argue with that, saw the Jerry Garcia Band (with Jerry) many many times, with Melvin on the Hammond and the soulful ladies singing backup it was a religious experience. When the GD were on they would transport you there as well. I can't say I had a favorite, when Jerry was on I was just grateful to be there. Jerry with David Grisman was also a special treat.
  3. Archive.org is the world's largest digital library and has a huge live music section with pretty much every live GD show for listening or download. They also have hundreds of other bands' live shows The archive was started by a Dead fan from San Fran who also started Alexa Inc. I recommend listening to Cornell and Buffalo from 77 to get an idea of their live sound and energy.
  4. Is he in Mill Valley? I saw some amazing shows at the old Sweetwater that closed. Does he own the Sweetwater Music Hall now? I used to spend a lot of time in that area. Lived in San Anselmo for a brief time and lived in Bolinas, this was early 90s. Saw my first Dead concert at the Aud in 77, amazing show. The live experience was the best way to understand their appeal. Workingmans Dead and American Beauty are their best studio work imo.
  5. Written by a pimple-faced kid who just graduated college. (No offense to any pimple-faced kids on TSW of course.)?
  6. I must have missed when anyone at all thought the Bills were interested in Cam. ?????? Anyone? Is it only because they seem to sign a majority of Panther castoffs? It's just funny that the first I hear of any possible interest is a statement that they are not interested. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention because the idea was too absurd to consider.
  7. I know two who have died, one a family friend in South Buffalo in his 50s, the other a close friends aunt. I know two who have recovered. One a good friend, the other a friend's mother. I have a longtime friend of over 30 years who is still in ICU here in Oregon, he is breathing on his own as of last night but has pneumonia and is not out of the woods yet. A very close friend in South Buffalo is a nurse working double shifts. I am very concerned as she is 60 and asthmatic. Stock up and stay home if you can. If you can't then take every precaution possible, this is unfortunately not close to being over yet imo. Hopefully they will have enough ppe for the front line workers soon and finally be able to do widespread testing for the virus. This isn't the time or place to discuss the dysfunctional train wreck in that regard. People who have had it already, the asymptomatic included, will have immunity and they must be identified by widespread serological testing for antibodies. Good luck and best wishes to you all.
  8. Who's Casey Stangel?? jk Here's a couple more Stengel quotes The secret of successful managing is to keep the five guys who hate you away from the four guys who haven't made up their minds. Never make predictions, especially about the future.
  9. Wr John Hightower Boise St. DE Darrell Taylor Tennessee Troy Dye has already been mentioned, I have seen him play in person many times. A bit undersized but what a playmaker. Great in coverage and great blitzing blowing up plays in the backfield. Hightower is a very smooth deep threat, long shot possibly UDFA. Taylor is a physical specimen who will need some work on his technical skills, maybe a 4rth rndr.
  10. I had to use an app, can't remember what it's called though. Got it LitPhoto
  11. Regardless of whether there will be better wrs drafted, it is almost a certainty that most of the wrs drafted will not be better. The Bills could spend their 1st 2nd and 3rd rnd picks on 3 wrs and still not be guaranteed to get one of Diggs' caliber.
  12. My little brother's friend died of Cov19 in South Buffalo, I have a good friend in ICU here in Oregon. This is dreadful. Stock up on food and stay home if you can, this disaster is still far from over unfortunately. Best wishes to you all.
  13. Reminds me of a movie scene from Madagascar I think, one monkey turns to the others and says "if anyone has any poo, now's the time to throw it".
  14. 100% agree, Dak is far more valuable than Cooper to that team. Hilarious lack of self-awareness by Rex calling someone else a turd though, the guy is a mammoth walking, talking turd. Put together on a tandem bicycle the Ryan brothers are a Guinness book worthy size turd combo.
  15. Adopting any dog that needs a loving home is a rescue in my opinion. We took our dog in at one year old when his elderly 'owner' passed on. He was going to the pound if no one would take him.
  16. You would think that, but going back to when this current 4 division per conf alignment began not a single team with a losing record would have made it so far. A few 8-8 teams and more 9-7 teams, but none with losing records. Now watch 2 teams with losing records make it next year.? edit: sorry, I guess that was already pointed out. I was on page 1.? They tip over cars and light sh it on fire in downtown Detroit?
  17. To be honest I had completely forgotten that Eric Reid was a controversial figure when I started this. I just saw the article and didn't know if it would impact the cba. The thread about the disabled ex Bills' wife complaining about the cba taking away some of his benefits had me thinking both sides should have left that alone. If this stays too political I assume the mods will quarantine it in the ppp and let the mad dogs go at it.
  18. Seeing as how I no longer live in a cave at 8000 feet in Utah like I used to, it would be pretty hard to elude that discussion. Life was so simple living in the cave. Ski in and ski out in the wintertime, mountain biking all summer, no television, internet, bills to pay, I didn't even have a phone. Were cell phones even a thing in 1987? I can't remember, I know I didn't have one. No mail either, unlike Bugs Bunny I had no mailbox outside the cave. No overload of information to cloud my mind. The good old days. The term 'personal social causes' was considered an oxymoron back then I think, and I'm pretty sure 'social justice warrior' was not yet a pejorative term. I can't remember though, so long ago.
  19. I get that. Football players are only supposed to play football, not stand up (or kneel down) for social causes. Hilarious. He's right to stand up for the disabled players.
  20. Here is a link for those who don't know why many players were unhappy with this deal. Current players benefit greatly while older disabled players benefits are slashed. The changes made after signing made it even worse evidently. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8117425/amp/NFL-players-union-Tom-Brady-SLAMMED-new-collective-bargaining-deal.html&ved=2ahUKEwjS_PSu-cToAhWJr54KHZxiA3gQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw1wE27UkiWHRxeF2C0WJXyx&ampcf=1 @Rico just curious what you found so amusing?
  21. Over 160,000 confirmed cases in US now, was 82,000 4 days ago. It took 4 days to double this time instead of 3, hopefully that means distancing measures are starting to have effect. On a more positive note the President assures us his magnificent hair is real, we are not paying for Harry and Meghan's security, and that President Trump is a ratings hit. Donald J. Trump ✔@realDonaldTrump “President Trump is a ratings hit. Since reviving the daily White House briefing Mr. Trump and his coronavirus updates have attracted an average audience of 8.5 million on cable news, roughly the viewership of the season finale of ‘The Bachelor.’ Numbers are continuing to rise... 122K 10:48 AM - Mar 29, 2020 Yep, numbers are continuing to rise.
  22. If you are referring to my comment after the article I wasn't blaming the NFL only, when I said they I meant both sides. The owners and the NFLPA.
  23. Eric Reid calls for probe, revote over post-ballot changes to CBA Facebook Twitter Facebook Messenger Email 2:00 PM PT ESPN News Services Free-agent safety Eric Reid wants the NFL's new collective bargaining agreement invalidated over language added after ratification of the pact earlier this month. He is calling for an investigation and a revote. In a letter to the NFLPA on Monday, Reid's lawyers said language posted on the players' association's website after passage of the agreement by a 1,019-959 vote on March 15 contains language different from the one that the players signed off on. The new CBA is set to begin with the upcoming 2020 season and extend through 2030. The letter from attorneys Ben Meiselas and Ray Genco highlights a difference in wording in the section about the league's disability plan that affects hundreds, and potentially thousands, of ex-players who applied for Social Security disability insurance payments before Jan. 1, 2015. In the version the players received and approved, those offsets applied only to players who applied after Jan. 1, 2015. In a series of tweets Monday, Reid, a vocal opponent of the agreement, provided screenshots of the CBA agreement that showed the language added after players approved the deal. The NFL declined comment and the NFLPA told ESPN it is withholding comment until its attorneys have had a chance to review the pertinent information. Meiselas told The Associated Press by phone Monday that the discrepancy was discovered when lawyers were "working with families of disabled players to guide them through the process." "We've been obviously critical of the CBA from the outset because it takes from disabled players. And so in advising them, we were looking at it and pointing out where they had issues and where they were going to be likely getting less money," Meiselas said. "And then we saw it, and we go, 'I don't remember seeing this in Paragraph B.'" Meiselas questioned why the language was added and why the NFL and players' union weren't transparent about the change. "And so Eric's letter demands the invalidation and an investigation and a revote because how do you stick in language that players didn't know they were voting for?" Meiselas said. "It's perplexing and concerning even if the changes were minor that there was no transparency and no explanation. But here, the changes are major and drastically and dramatically impact disability benefits to players." He said a revote seems like "the only logical answer." "When there's a potential manipulation of the language to an agreement, what's the alternative?" Meiselas said, adding, "We're waiting on an explanation at this point." -------------------------------------'--------------------------------- I'm not a lawyer but adding things to an agreement after it is signed does not seem lawful to me. Personally I found it disgusting that they agreed to take away a large portion of disability benefits from former players in the first place. The owners stand to save only 10 mil by diminishing these benefits, a drop in the bucket compared to NFL revenue. Pretty sure this has not been posted already, if it has please delete.
