Bills Chiefs postgame thread
SwaggatronMcCoy replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can’t help but wonder how we fare last week without five first half turnovers... Tyrod is average at best, but well above average in not making bonehead throws, and taking care of the ball is just as important as slinging it for 300 yards a game. -
Zay Jones drops huge catch. <radio edit>

It's hard to say because it depends on where the defenders are coming out or your break and situational awareness such as where the endzone is. His route was too flat toward the sideline bringing him up too close to the coverage beneath. In that scenario you want him to realize he has the safety beat, where the pylon is, and where the underneath defender is and keep the padding he has for an easy thread over the top in stride. I think Zay made the catch a lot harder on himself. Being inexperienced at this level it isn't surprising. He'll learn more as he gets more reps. We desperately need to take more shots downfield. If we throw one more screen or check down to the flat... I'm going to claw my eyes out. -

Over the inside shoulder and long because the receiver cut the route down flat to the sideline instead of opening it up to the pylon. That's how. That is why Zay had to turn and stretch back. -

He didn't go to the Pylon, he flattened his route and went to the sideline. Also cut down the padding on the coverage nearly allowing the defender coming back to disrupt if the ball was thrown right on him where he ran. Had he opened his route up to the pylon he'd have been hit in stride. No need to turn, no need to stretch back. -

Ran the route flat to the sideline after coming out of that break a little awkward... needed to run to the pylon. Not sure why he turned. If he completed the route to the pylon the ball is right on him. Looks like some confusion. -

Felt good to stoop to your level of childishness when I was offering a perfectly plausible scenario in which the problem wasn't the pass, but the stumble coming out of the break. You took it there, as usual, with your condescension toward anyone with an opposing viewpoint of your own. -

Well if Zay doesn't stumble, and runs it out to where the Ball was thrown, it would have been right over his right shoulder... instead of over his left and over his head causing him to stretch back for it... But I dig the condescension in your post Bang. Still a vitriolic loser like back on BBF -

It caused him not to run to the right spot... what if the ball was where it was meant to be and the receiver ran it short and to the sideline side because of the stumble? -

Are HappyDays and I the only people who saw Zay stumble coming out of his break which slowed him down considerably, and caused him to adjust awkwardly to get back on the route? -
Gameday Thread Bills/Panthers 2nd Half

We should operate in a faster pace for our normal offense. Both Tyrod and the Receivers work better in the two minute. Takes the pressure off the OL for sustaining blocks, too. When we are in our normal paced offense, it feels like everyone sits on their heels and everyone looks sluggish a time the snap. -

Carolina did not run prevent on a single play that drive. So I think you should probably go learn some football morez -

Are you sure Tyrod caused him to adjust and not the little stumble coming out of his cut? Take a look again... -

I just saw Bryant make a similar catch in the Steelers game and the commentators called it a good throw and catch... Pros make tough catches. Not everything is on the numbers or perfectly over the shoulder. They are pros for a reason. -

Receivers are paid to catch balls that hit them in the hands. Most pro receivers make that catch easily. -
