With other players available, I can't say I like this signing. The Chargers were banged up bad at WR last year and this guy didn't manage to get playing time. I don't know much about him but his inactivity last year doesn't bode well for success here. But hey... they unearthed the Lorax and it takes talent to make an NFL squad so, I could very well be wrong.

Burkhead did better than Both of their starting backs last year. My question would be whether they're moving on from James White or Dion Lewis. He plays a similar role.

Seems like Whaley does a good job analyzing defensive positions in the draft and free agency but cannot figure out offensive talent to save his life. Case and point moving up to draft Sammy in a WR loaded draft and the EJ debacle. Also Bryce Brown, Mike Williams... etc. But some of the trades he's pulled has saved his a**. Hughes for Sheppard alone gave him a longer leash.

Versatility for sure. Which is a very smart way of bolstering depth. I really like what McD is doing here.

Kendall Wright would be nice, Boldin would have to come here cheap but I'd like him too. Byrd, sure... Please think with your head and not your heart Bills. Stevie is Done.

I don't think Jeffery will live up to his similar game plan in the least and could easily be overshadowed by Mathews, Ertz, even Torrey. That's a great question. I guess I'd go Byrd with his Dad on our staff and I miss his ball hawking skills. But I'd be pleased either way, I liked Corey Graham while he was here.

Hmmm, there's something off about this guy. I can understand why you wouldn't wanna be locked in with the Browns for 4 yrs from a monetary standpoint, hoping to cash in after he proves last year was no fluke. But the Browns are stacked with picks and in year 4 of his deal, could actually be decent assuming they hit on half of those picks and find a QB. Maybe there is some truth to his diva-tude. In comparisons I can't believe how much Rob Woods made. I liked him a lot but DAMN!

Glad to have the Lorax back and on an affordable deal. His precense on special teams and in the locker room will give us a competitive edge. At 33 he will be coming to work with a no-nonsense attitude and hopefully be the leader we all expect of him. Can he repeat as a sack master? Probably not, but I'm still happy to have him on this team.

I see your logic, climbing astronomical salaries.. even a buy low/sell high situation but with his health it would be a risky bet.

That's one way of looking at it. Think about this though, even with terrible quarterbacking he put up 1,000 yards. Maybe he has realized he wants the opportunity for targets, not wins. Garçon, Desean gone.. leaves them with Crowder at WR and Reed at TE. Pryors gonna get his and on a 1 year deal... if he's able to atleast duplicate last season he will really cash in next year. Not so fluky when you do it in consecutive years. Just another perspective for rationale.
