  1. Great post as always, Shaw. Like many here, I didn't like the Allen pick but will obviously root for him and hope I'm wrong. The only thing that I don't want is that if Allen busts, Beane won't be as stubborn as Whaley was with EJ. Swinging and missing shouldn't prevent us from trying for another QB. Both guys are for beyond 2018, so this will probably be a tough transitional year for us with scheduling and lack of OL/WR help. Hopefully these two can become our Cam and Keuchley for the long term. We had lots of holes so having 6 of the top 96 picks become 3 stings a little, but the best part is we didn't give up any 2019 picks. From what I've read, there will be a plethora of talent at several positions (for DL in particular, Clemson may very well have a few first rounders) - and if we are in for a one-step-back-for-two-steps-forward kind of a season, we may very well be picking high again.
  2. Of course CB only linked the A/B grades... Not that immediate post draft grades mean anything anyways
  3. Did this honestly need its own thread? I guess it's someone else's turn to make a CJ Spiller thread now, too. That's somehow relevant.
  4. Hey guys, look at me!
  5. Could I know the lottery numbers for the next four years, too, please?
  6. but fortunately, all of our 2019 picks are intact, and our 1st may very well end up being a high pick. Heck, maybe we could get some more draft capital next year by trading Josh Allen away for a 2019 7th that could conditionally become a 6th? I feel as if the majority of this board would support that...
  7. *yawn* Another rash, sensless - and flat out incorrect - thread. We traded a first? Here I thought we only traded two seconds to move up. This is like the fans that couldn't do simple math a few years ago when saying we gave up three first rounders for Watkins. And we traded Watkins away?!? This is news to me. I bet the team that traded for him surely got dividends out of it and and signed him long term! Let's also leave out how we gained Tre White and Tremaine Edmunds over the course of this past year for the sake of negativity
  8. Hopefully, someone told Josh that there's no such thing as "buffalo wings" too.
  9. We did work out and dine with Ragnow, though.
  10. I mean, if it's what it's going to take, then why not? Doubtful, but everyone has a price
  11. NFLN solely because of Maycok's breakdowns. Since networks won't spoil picks prematurely with phone calls on screen, no need to follow what Shefter says on a frequent basis
  12. EJ's best games were some of his earliest - he never got any better. I was more than willing to give him a shot with the new coaching staff after Marrone and Hackett dipped; Tyrod's injury opened the door for him to show what he could do, and he failed. Then during the "business decision" start, he played so horribly that Lynn actually let Cardale Jones get some playing time. Although he never should have been drafted as high as he was and no one thought he'd be an immediate contributor, his number was called due to injury. He never stepped up and/or showed signs of improvement. He only regressed, and I'm a little surprised Oakland wanted him back this year.
  13. Hue Jackson said this about Josh Allen, and it still cracks me up: "This guy is what the quarterbacks look like when they get out of a truck" Day by day, he seems like less of an NFL HC and more like an average Joe saying weird things
  14. I still don't understand why the media is inclined to think the Giants won't take a QB because Shurmur can coach 37 year old Eli, or why the Broncos don't seem interested in a QB because of signing Keenum. In a worst case scenario where the top 3 QBs (not counting Allen) are all taken in the top 5 without being open to trade negotiations, we still need to be patient and trust the direction of this team with the guys in charge. We all know that this is a QB driven league. Beane stated the obvious himself, but even if we offer a fair value trade - and extra to compensate it actually happening - the other team has to say yes, too. Yeah it would suck to not get a QB we crave, but if we can hold on to several of our picks, we will have one heck of a better team at the end of a day while we presumably address many of our holes - LB and OL first and foremost (but BPA never fails either). Sean and Brandon have sure my/our/the Pegulas' trust to get this right in both the short and long term. Tl;dr: #TrustTheProcess
  15. Can this dude really even afford to be picky with his destination and contract length?
  16. It's just going to get tougher and tougher to numerically "rank" WRs from the older era with the passing game opening up so much (in terms of yardage and leniency in rules), but my favorite player of all time is among the GOAT at YAC. Who can forget the prime-time game against the Rams with Reich at QB and how he forced his way into the endzone through half the team? Or when we hosted Miami as the 1 seed in 1990 as he sliced through the middle to take a shallow crosser to the house on our opening drive? Or his first ever TD catch from Jim against the Jets where he caught a crosser over his head with one hand and tight-roped the sideline and dodged two tackles?
  17. Hue needs the Browns far more than the Browns need him. If he continues to flop, the Browns will be a very attractive coaching gig. Heck, if he was in charge, we could probably trade the #1 overall pick for AJ McCarron.
  18. Isn't there a little bit of a difference with the context, though? One is a CB headline, whereas the other one is a Gailey quote. No chance that McCoach (providing lip service) has the same train of thought as the two of them: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2018/4/23/17266052/buffalo-bills-head-coach-sean-mcdermott-not-satisfied-heading-into-year-2-2018
  19. No **** him. After the Tre hit (and subsequent fan taunting after the game), I'm ashamed to think he's a WNY representative.
  20. I read an article earlier saying that him contemplating retirement was maybe a way of angling at a new contract. They gave him incentives this past year of a pay raise if he made the All-Pro team (check). But he's still in the middle of a 6/$54M deal. Trey Burton just got $8M yearly, for example. Josh McDaniels got a pay raise as a middle finger to the Colts...so I'd say it's a definite possibility.
  21. I don't get these reactions. I'm sure Beane most definitely offered him a contract with playing time incentives that could have exceeded 4 million at the very least. What probably happened was we signed Davis because Gaines over--valued himself; once we got Vontae, that shut the door on him returning, even if we did offer a contract with at least 4 million. EJ's market was dead silent, so he got a lot less than he wanted, especially likely from what he and his agent were asking from the Bills before negotiations with other teams.
