Why Does The National Media Want To See Josh Allen Fail?
ThunderGun replied to mykidsdad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesn't matter, you put garbage against garbage you still get garbage. Allen was a rare prospect who somehow slipped through the fingers of BCS schools, but everybody he played with and under was garbage compared to NFL calibre players and coaches. -
Why Does The National Media Want To See Josh Allen Fail?
ThunderGun replied to mykidsdad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Something tells me that the Buffalo Bills front office invested a lot more time, money, and energy into scouting Josh Allen that PFF did, including analytics. Besides, do their analytics take into account playing at a garbage school with garbage skill players and garbage coaching??? What about all the good things Sports Science had to say about him? -
Why is nobody discussing the offensive line?

Also going overlooked by the OP is the fact that all through training camp I’m pretty sure McCarron took more sacks than Peterman and Allen combined. While he certainly wasn’t getting help from the OL, it’s not as if he does then any favors with his lack of quick decision making. Also not sure what game you were watching, even though Allen didn’t have Myles Garrett in his grill, he definitely saw his fair share of pressure and did a better job handling it. -

IR McCarron, grab Matt Moore... they are basically the same player except Moore will be a lot cheaper. -

I think his full name is actually Josh Allen Iverson, bc dude is clearly “The Answer”. -

Mic’d Up: Brandon Reilly vs Carolina
ThunderGun replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think he will make the team either unless he starts doing something special. He played about as well as one could last year and didn’t make it. I believe he had 3 targets and 2 drops this last game, while McCloud (I believe) snagged all of his from the Human Cannon that is Josh Allen. They like Holmes, and I don’t think they keep more than 6. - KB, Kerley, Zay, Coleman, Holmes, McCloud. Even if they went 7, it’s probably a toss up between him and Streater, AND it sounded like Phillips was outplaying both of them before his injury. -
Joe B: 53 Man Roster Projection - Final
ThunderGun replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
KB Kerly Zay Coleman Holmes Ray Ray that will be the 6 kept for sure, they invested a 5th in McCloud, he can return the ball, and he hasn’t disappointed in limited opportunities so he’s almost a lock imo. And I keep Croom and Lee over Thomas, end that expirement. -
Idk, Trent Edwards put up some outstanding Preseason stat lines. If I had to choose between him and AJ it’s AJ, but I think the sooner they get Allen taking the majority of the reps, the better for his development and career. I don’t believe in coddling a kid who has possibly the most elite physical skills I’ve ever seen, and has a brain to go with it- scoring the highest on the wonderlic of all QBs (37) this year. Plus Peterman’s arm is too weak to be the starter, he’s a fine back up, but if teams actually start game planning for him I don’t think it plays out well.

I agree that McCarron is looked like more of an NFL QB than Peterman... but if I was McD I would cut the BS, and just give the reigns to Allen. I read today “not a lot of reps for Allen” at practice... Really??? AJ is basically a younger Fitz, let’s just get Allen all the experience he can as early as possible. He will make rookie mistakes, but one thing I’m pretty certain of is this game is not too big for him mentally, and the sooner they just take their lumps in the developmental process the better. I wasn’t sure of Allen when drafted, but I think he really stands a great chance of being the long sought after answer at the QB spot, no reason to coddle the kid imo.

Allen should start with #1's
ThunderGun replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen won’t be ruined by starting, he’s smart enough to realize he’s not going to step in his rookie year and be Aaron Rodgers. Im also pretty sure he will simply get much better; much faster with 1st team reps and starting experience sooner rather than later. Peterman had a good quarter, McCarron too, neither showed any elite potential the way Allen did with his arm. Allen will be the starter by week 4 at the latest; the other guys are still good backups imo. Besides, even if Allen does have some accuracy issues, he throws that ball so hard DBs aren’t gonna be able to haul those in... On a related note, I’m really worried about Coleman’s hands making it through 16 games with Allen under center. -
I give Peterman all the credit it the world, looked great. McCarron also looked good, but let’s remember there was zero game planning by Rivera AND Daboll has no real available game tape of what he plans to run in the NFL. Once teams start game planning for Peterman, and get a feel for Daboll’s offense, the shine will come off real quick in my opinion, and if I had to make a decision between just the two right now I think I would still lean towards McCarron. All that said, I’m just hoping Allen’s game continues to improve, and impresses enough that he somehow starts sooner than later. He has intangibles that can’t really be game planned for. He has every physical tool a QB could want, it’s like somebody created the perfect QB in madden (forgetting to change the create a player face), and his wonderlic score was super high (37?) so he has a brain to match these insane, other worldly physical intangibles. I’d trade whoever doesn’t want to back up Allen, and just take my lumps with the rookie. I really don’t think the game is too big for him, and he will just get better much quicker if he’s getting the 1st reps and experience on the field.

Tremaine Edmunds played light & tight
ThunderGun replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Between new rules being implemented every year that make it harder to play defense, and the limited amount of hitting allowed in practice, I’d get used to seeing kids coming into the league who “look like Tarzan, play like Jane”. Again, he’s 20, first actual game against NFL talent, I think expectations just need to be brought back down to earth... Hopefully by week 3 things start slowing down a little bit and we see the guy we’ve been hearing so much about in Camp. -
Do we really need another debate on Tyrod?
ThunderGun replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe if he didn't have super conservative OC's here in Buffalo... I love how 10-3 is on Tyrod and not that hot garbage of a "coordinator" Dennison... I bet you could count on one hand how many times Buffalo used pre-snap motion last year. Not to mention they stripped him of any legitimate deep threat, and that is one of the things he does better than most. -
I like the over on the Saints, under on the Chargers... Under on the Fins too, they might be picking 1st overall next year. As of right now now the starting QB is either AJ McCarron or the guy who set the NFL record for most picks in a half in his first start... really hard to argue 5.5 as inaccurate. The defense seems to be shaping up nicely but you still need to be able to pass the football.

There hasn't even been a preseason game... let's just announcer jinx the **** out of this team, great idea!
-
Allen will be the starter, the game doesn't seem to be overwhelming him, he can do things the others simply can't and shows it on a daily basis. Also doesn't seem to take nearly as many sacks as McCarron, I feel like I often see "Allen throws it away", while McCarron already had a high sack % before McD decided to "turn up the heat" on his QBs today. Allen will make his mistakes, but will be fun to watch and I also think with how dynamic the kid is, simply gives the team the best chance to win. It's gotta be Peterman. Definitely has done nothing to stand out, and the quicker they reduce his role to "camp arm" the better. He will be very lucky if he is on anybody's final 53 this year.

Khalil Mack holding out... in Buffalo
ThunderGun replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Besides the painfully obvious fact that he obviously has a certain comfort level with the city??? If that's what it took. That's the one benefit to drafting a rookie QB who the FO intends to be the franchise QB- you have him essentially at a bargain price as far as QBs go for 5 years, so you spend that cap on elite talent at the positions that are difference makers - Pass rush, tackle, and corner. -
Great news about Jim!!! So hard to see your childhood heroes struggle, but he is more of a hero to me now in adulthood than he ever was in my youth. His strength, perseverance and unrelenting faith are a true inspiration, never once has he conveyed a "why me???" attitude. Also, even though he wasn't a "chewer", there are other ways to get oral cancers, ranging from Alcohol use, HPV, or just bad luck/genetic disposition. Michael Douglas' throat cancer was caused by HPV from oral sex (by his own admission). I was completely unaware of this possibility until I read his interview, but men have a harder time ridding themselves of the super common Human Papilloma Virus which can mutate into cancer. So not going down on random people is a good preventive step... but just about everything can give you cancer, soooo, when in Rome?

After his injury, I think he only did a lot of the first clip, and not so much of the second. Too bad, him and Freddie were a fun 1-2 to watch when both were healthy.

Oliver, Darkwa, West, M.Jones, M. Davis, Sims, and Lacy (one last chance) would all be worth a look even if Shady is exonerated of any wrongdoing.
