Ummmmm.... has anyone watched Watchmen.... SO GOOD!!! I'm actually pi$$ed at all the jacka&&es on rottentomatoes who "review bomb" shows and movies. Yes, there's a historical backdrop to the show that actually happened (that some people want to deny, apparently...?), but the show itself is one I actually hesitated to watch for awhile because of the aforementioned idiotic review bombing but finally watched and IT'S SOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!

Good stuff Gunner. I said last night my 4 biggest positive takeaways were Rousseau, Singletary, Sweeney and Dodson, in that order. Pretty much exactly what you posted here.

Kumerow is making the team. McDermott is preserving him for the regular season. ...and the funny thing is.... that 2nd sentence looks like it might actually be the case

Rousseau and Singletary were my 2 biggest takeaways, with Sweeney and Dodson as runners up. Rousseau is ready to make an impact his rookie season. We all saw the sack... but he was consistently disruptive. He's going to make rookie mistakes, obviously. But I think he'll see MUCH more playing time than Basham, despite what we were promised at draft time. Singletary looked gooooooood. Yes, I know it's preseason, but unlike Buffalo who was resting a buncha starters, Detroit looked like they were playing a large chunk of theirs and really trying. Plus he was running behind a bunch of backup OL. All that burst and speed we heard about with Breida was more of what I saw with Singletary, who has fantastic vision as an RB. Hoping he keeps this up. Sweeney didn't see a ton of action, but that pass early in the game he caught that he had to reach out for and then run after was impressive. Considering Knox and Hollister are apparently our #1 and #2, Sweeney looks like a darn good #3 TE. Dodson started the game in place of Edmunds and was in on pretty much every play it seemed. I was pretty impressed with him. Again... preseason. I thought it was really fascinating that Kumerow hardly played at all. I think McKenzie played more. Kumerow is pretty much a roster lock at this point, in my eyes.

Okay... I'm not going to read a ton into the depth chart because there's plenty to quibble with and who knows what's being put out there as extra motivation for some players (Stevenson, for one)... but when I look at our roster position by position... holy crap I'm honestly starting to worry a little about our depth in the secondary specifically!

Soooo... might this Friday be a promotional game to the Colts for a potential trade for Mitch?

Hodgins was a 6th round pick who was viewed as more of a "value" pick than our actual rookie impact WR Gabe Davis by many of the talking heads. All that said, I think Kumerow is pretty well solidifying his roster spot simply because of his ST ability. Unless GB offers a fairly high draft pick (3rd or 4th round at least) I think he's our ST ace with the ability to play WR with injuries. And since McKenzie sounds like he's absolutely tearing up camp, the only question remaining is whether we keep 6 or 7 WRs... and if we keep 7, which WR makes the team... Duke Williams or Tanner Gentry...?

Fans in packed stadiums is certainly a question mark today... much more than it was a month ago. As @Doc Brown suggested... I could see proof of vaccination or negative Covid test being required. Capacity limits are possible, but I don't think there will be completely empty stadiums at any point this year.

You began with Todd Collins, so you apparently became entrenched as a Bills fan in 1997... so you're either still in your 20s, someone who's switched teams, or someone who became a fan later in life. I won't speak for everyone else in their late 30s and over, but experiencing the combination of elation and heartbreak of 4 straight years of being the Super Bowl runner up monumentally affected me as a sports fan... and the impacts resonate nearly 3 decades later. I want Allen. I want him because I believe he'll be great. I want Allen because I believe he'll lead this team to multiple Super Bowls. But belief inherently leaves room for questions, which was all I was doing.

God posts like this just irritate me. You are completely missing the points to which you're responding to. Who the ***** said Josh Allen can't be a successful QB in this league? I dunno, maybe you're new to being a Bills fan and you're happy with playoffs year after year, which I bet most of us believe we'll reach at this point. Some of us older folk (and full disclosure... I'm 40) have already experienced that and are seeking Ws on the biggest stage in sports. Don't conflate questions with doubts. It's a simple-minded approach to a complex conversation.

I really don't disagree, and anyone who insinuates I'm saying Allen will suck this year is unable to have a complex thought. I think Josh Allen is the most physically talented NFL QB out there today and maybe in the history of the NFL. I also think his competitiveness and desire to win is right up there with the all-time greats. But one thing about Allen that's simultaneously super encouraging and leaves me with a small amount of anxiety in the short term is how young/inexperienced in the sport he still is, especially when compared with his peers. I think this has been rehashed over and over, but when you go through the history of Josh Allen playing QB (multi-sport athlete in HS, didn't physically grow into himself til late, 1 year as a JuCo starter, 2 years as a borderline D1 starter, etc.) he's not only still learning the position but the whole idea of crazy packed stadiums and media spotlight is relatively new to him as opposed to a guy like Mahomes, who had a professional athlete as a father and played in packed stadiums at a D1 school throughout college. Again, I think last year was the best thing for him and I think he's over that, but in his first 2 years there were moments where he seemed overly excited and would miss a play or 2. I always noticed it especially at home games, and I think part of that stems from his competitiveness and desire to be great for his fans.

As someone who was there I appreciate your perspective on this. As much as @Bangarang was joking around (I think... mostly), I admit that I'm a little anxious about how Josh will respond to the crowds this year and whether that brings back the *Sugar High Josh" we saw so much in year 1 and some in year 2. Love Josh, but I really do think the empty stadiums helped him last year. I believe (and hope) that he's gotten over that hump, though.

That would be surprising considering he's on record as inquiring about moving up to #4, but the price was too much. Maybe because it was the same team (Cleveland) picking at #1 as #4 she just interpreted it that way.

I really hope Josh never loses that little kid excitement to play the game. That's so much of the mentality that makes him so great.

As a show that I don't think I've seen mentioned I started watching Watchmen on HBO Max a couple nights ago and got hooked. One piece of criteria I always use for judging shows is the Rotten Tomatoes Audience Reviews--significantly more important than the critics reviews... usually. This show is an exception. I'm 3 episodes in to a 9 episode season of hour long episodes and I'll finish by early next week. The show is weird, but very engaging. I'd recommend it.

I don't get it... is this why people are on tiktok and Instagram? Why not just watch porn? It's just as easily accessible. And...? Any good?

My vote would be the one to Diggs in the MNF NE game where he was rolling to his left and was about to get hammered and threw a dart nearly 30 yards in the air for a TD.

I understand that Allen has a position of not talking about his vaccination status, but based on the fact that he's not wearing a mask in his PC and arrival video... I'm assuming/hoping he is. I really, REALLY hope he got vaccinated.
