  1. #2 and #3 CBs are our only 2 players questionable? Glad this isn't the week we're playing KC or TB, but Washington has a pretty good WR corps... let's hope Groot and AJ keep up with the quick pressure.
  2. 35-0 against a team most consider a playoff team... C'mon man...
  3. We just shut a division rival out projected as a playoff team... a team widely considered to have an excellent defense and Elite secondary... As someone who has Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs as his #1 fantasy WR and #1 QB... chill out!!!
  4. Anyone notice another 4th and short we screwed the pooch on today? Justin Herbert easily converted a 4th and 1 inside his own 30 just now with a QB sneak... just sayin...
  5. What exactly do you think the definition of the word "suggest" is, Thurm? To suggest is "to put forward for consideration." I said suggest... not recommend. You give the word "suggest" the same meaning of "recommend." If you apply that definition to the word suggest, I agree, he did not recommend it. But by its very definition if, he did suggest it.
  6. This probably happened largely because of people's inability to wear masks in the stadium. I have a question: Why is it so darn hard for people to wear masks properly? I teach students all day and I don't have a problem wearing it over nose and mouth all day. Why is this such a ridiculous issue? If the one you have is uncomfortable... buy a new one. We're in a Pandemic. No one loves it... but if you want some semblance of normalcy right now and the quickest way back to total normal, do 2 things without exception: 1) Wear your mask in public 2) Get vaccinated
  7. It's far less than half the article... that's the criteria, right? I can cut more if need be. Or are you saying something else and I'm completely misunderstanding the implication I've used too many direct quotes from an article with a paywall?
  8. Didn't see it posted: https://theathletic.com/2825259/2021/09/14/is-it-too-soon-to-worry-about-the-bills-offense/ Is it too soon to worry about the Bills offense? A Week 2 change could provide a spark But a slightly bigger snapshot of Daboll’s offense shows a trend to monitor, and with head coach Sean McDermott’s established history of temporarily revoking play-calling duties in hopes of a spark, one might wonder if it’s time for passing-game coordinator Ken Dorsey to get a shot to see what he can do. No, this is not a plea to fire Daboll just as McDermott’s decision to confiscate defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier’s play card wasn’t permanent in 2018. McDermott chose to do that in Week 2, by the way, six quarters into the season right after Frazier’s defense dragged the Bills — kicking and screaming — into the playoffs to break a 17-year drought. ... Going back just to last postseason, against the type of opponents by which Buffalo will be measured, the offense has struggled to find the end zone. McDermott also expressed disappointment in Daboll’s game plans back then. The Bills averaged 3.6 offensive TDs a game last year and scored three of them in their playoff opener, a 27-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Since then, the Bills offense has scored four touchdowns over three games. One was enough to beat the Baltimore Ravens in the second round, but McDermott was displeased with Daboll’s approach. The Bills ran three times in the first half, tying an NFL record for fewest attempts in the first half of a playoff game. Only one of those runs was designed and didn’t happen until three minutes before halftime; one was an Allen kneeldown to end the half. ... Daboll deployed four- or five-receiver formations on 35 snaps, but the Bills averaged 3.4 yards on them. ... After failing to convert two fourth downs all last year, Buffalo misfired on two of its three attempts Sunday. They happened on the Bills’ first two second-half possessions. ... More egregious was a fourth-and-1 call from Pittsburgh’s 41 with 13:42 left in the game. Allen threw a backward pass to Breida, whom cornerback Cameron Sutton summarily annihilated for a 7-yard loss. “That is something that we anticipated,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said of the play. “They got in that formation a bunch, four or five times in the preseason. We figured the next phase of it would be to fake it to the fullback and flip that ball out to them.” Pittsburgh’s defense played zone coverage 75.9 percent of the time Sunday, extending a trend that has given Buffalo problems. ... Allen took much punishment. In addition to designed runs and his customary scrambles, he absorbed three sacks and eight quarterback hits (he endured only two games in 2020 with at least that many) despite using play action just 18.4 percent of the time in an effort to get the ball out of Allen’s hands early. Allen fumbled twice. ... McDermott swiped Frazier’s play card six quarters into 2018, during halftime of a loss to the Chargers, right about the time cornerback Vontae Davis simply left the stadium and retired. Like a hockey coach hopes to spark his team with a goalie change, the move worked. The Bills had been outscored 75-9 at that point. The defense responded with three-and-outs on the Chargers’ next three possessions and allowed only a field goal. A week later, McDermott reinstated Frazier’s oversight against the Minnesota Vikings, the team Frazier used to lead. The Bills were 16.5-point underdogs on the road yet dominated, forcing three turnovers and recording four sacks in a 27-6 laugher. McDermott gave Frazier the game ball. ... Dorsey shouldn’t be a threat to Daboll. Increased collaboration can be healthy and provide a spark. If Daboll ever lands a head coaching gig, then getting Dorsey some live reps would be beneficial for the future.
  9. It was more a statement about how neither makes sense than a direct analogy. Maybe you're too deep for me
  10. Probably the same reason we punted multiple times on 4th down inside Pittsburgh territory and then thought it would be a good idea to go for it on 4th and 8 rather than kick a 53 yard FG... or even punt.
  11. I actually have NFL Sunday ticket for streaming through my sister-in-law's college account. But there's a Bills fan on the island I'll drive to in order to watch the games with when they aren't on local TV. So it's really just the question of if I'm driving to his place or watching at home. And you might ask whey I drive there and he doesn't drive to my place... my wife and I are not the hosting type.
  12. Really will be kinda shocked if he's not on here. When Mariota was on the Titans, they were on TV almost every week.
  13. Are the coverage maps available? Anyone know? This leaves out Hawai'i and Tua is a Hawai'i boy... I just kinda figured Miami would be shown here pretty much every week he's the starter.
  14. I've been trying to reclaim Deebo but it's not allowing me, yet. Also, my backup QB was Fitz... so I'll likely have to replace him. Oh yeah... and the other thing that killed me was my 2 starting RBs were Singletary and Raheem Mostert... and of course Mostert gets injured early.
  15. So I just lost my very first fantasy match-up ever by 0.58 points in our Yahoo fantasy league. It came down to the Ravens defense for me tonight vs Justin Tucker for him. Fantasy interests made that game more interesting... not that it wasn't. If only Allen didn't lay an absolute egg... If only I didn't drop Deebo Samuel for Jarvis Landry because I saw Curtis Samuel was injured and out and stupidly got the 2 mixed up... Oh well... Onto the next match-up. How the heck does this fantasy stuff work once you lose, anyway?
  16. Singletary ran 7 times for 23 yards before the Steelers took the lead. Once the Steelers were up by 10 in the 4th and playing prevent, he ran 4 more times for 48 yards. Your understanding of the rushing attack today lacks actual context.
  17. Some truly bizarre coaching decisions for McDermott on 4th downs today. Jekyll and Hyde.
  18. This is less about that single play than the inability of Daboll (who was with the Patriots and saw Brady's success rate on those plays over the years) to understand the asset he has at QB and the proper way to train that asset to run a 4th and short play. There should be no thinking about it... it should be automatic.
  19. Now this stat is from about 6 years ago, but between 1999-2015, a QB sneak on 4th and 2 or less were successful 89.7% of the time. https://sports.sites.yale.edu/success-short-yardage-play-types-fourth-down Now, granted... on 4th and 1 it drops to 82.8% for the QB Sneak, but that's still significantly more successful than the 63.4% success rate of all non QB run plays, but an 82%+ percent success rate on 4th and short along with having a 6'5, 240+ lb QB makes the answer obvious. Any (and I mean ANY) time it's 4th and short (definitely less than 1... 2 or less in certain parts of the field) you don't huddle up... you don't take timeouts... you run up and hike the darn ball and run Allen under center for the 1st down! This has been a huge frustration of mine ever since we've drafted Allen. That's on Daboll... period.
  20. And shouldn't it be "yinz" for you???
  21. Wait... are you saying you're a much better team than you were last year or a much better team than Buffalo? If you mean the former, I could see that. I already said I think Buffalo wins by about a TD... you consider that domination? Okay. Now, if you mean that Pittsburgh is a much better team than Buffalo, you need to get your head checked. I don't think this game will be a route. I think Buffalo will win, but it'll be relatively close most of the game. But what I think you're underestimating is how good Buffalo was last year and the fact that they've brought back 21 of 22 starters and arguably upgraded that starter who left and have almost certainly upgraded their pass rush. But I'll say this... I think Pittsburgh's best chance to win this game is a very run-heavy game with Harris. With Star out of the game, I could actually see Pittsburgh potentially winning if they commit to the run.
  22. Since when is 26-15 barely beating a team? Okay.... maybe we only win by a TD... that's about what I expect. A W is a W. Also... the Steelers were 11-1 when Buffalo played them. Soooo... you think they're winning their first 12+ games this season? We could bet on that if you like.
