  1. He's absolutely right. What's just deflating is that I've thought Allen would be an All time HOF great QB for a couple years now and every year without a Super Bowl is another year wasted as he grows older.
  2. Just please for God's sake support Allen with personnel and better coaching so we don't waste him. Allen should get us a minimum of 3 Super Bowls. I firmly believe that. But it requires better situational coaching.
  3. Patterson 100% if we can get him. No on Ridley as we already have a pretty frigging good 1-2 WR combo in Diggs and Davis. I'm most concerned with what happens in the slot.
  4. Yes I watched this and it's my greatest fear. It was pretty clearly what separated Manning and Brady for years. In NE it was an Elite HC & Elite QB combo. In Indy it was just a very good HC with an Elite QB. It kinda terrifies me to think McDermott is merely a really good HC, because that means we'll always be bridesmaids, but never brides. And he'll never be bad enough to get fired. I just hope he's somehow learning from all these mistakes. Neglecting to squib kick yesterday was just plain criminal.
  5. Posturing. If McBeane wants him back, he'll be back. I hope they choose him over Beasley, honestly.
  6. I feel the same way. Feels like a wasted season even though out future still looks so bright. I still firmly believe Allen gets Buffalo multiple Super Bowls, not just one. But with the way he's been playing, this year probably should have been his first.
  7. Anyone else view this as a squandered season? I get it... I was happy to be in the playoffs... but I think we're beyond that point. I absolutely cannot forgive Daboll for some of his playcalling, even if he believes he's doing it to set up plays like that 75 yarder to Davis. Handing the ball off 3 times in a row and then punting against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in a game where each team only completed one possession by the end of the 1st quarter is unacceptable. I know the grass isn't always greener on the other side, but I hope Daboll and Frazier get HC jobs. I believe they're the ones most responsible for squandering a year we coulda/shoulda/woulda won a Lombardi. And our Winter Soldier is another year older next season.
  8. How about Daboll puts Allen in shackles with his playcalling? 3 straight handoffs and a punt? Seriously?!
  9. https://theathletic.com/3085111/2022/01/21/whats-changed-since-week-5-and-an-absurd-josh-allen-stat-22-bills-thoughts-heading-into-the-clash-with-the-chiefs?source=user-shared-article An absurd Josh Allen stat Before we get into the details of how the Bills match up with the Chiefs, we have an Allen stat that’s too good not to share. There are a lot of gaudy numbers, but in a historical context, Allen’s 2021 season is one of the best rushing years in NFL history. The Athletic’s Aaron Reiss dug deep into the numbers on TruMedia and found an excellent morsel of information. “Among players with at least 120 carries in a season, including the playoffs, Allen’s rushing success rate of 61.3 percent is fourth best since at least 2000. The four players ahead of him are all quarterbacks: Michael Vick in 2004, Robert Griffin III in 2012 and Cam Newton in 2011.” To be mentioned in the same sentence as Vick in his Madden cover year is rarefied air. Combined with Allen’s passing prowess, no other team in the league is getting the level of multi-purpose quarterbacking that he provides. And to apply that to this matchup, the Chiefs had the second-worst expected points added total against quarterback rushes in the regular season. The last time the teams played, Allen rushed for 59 yards on 11 carries, and three of those were kneeldowns for a 1 -yard loss.
  10. On the Pat McAfee show today one of the cohosts asked Allen about his speed and claimed he clocked Allen unofficially at 4.42 during a game. I have no clue what his methodology is, but that legitimately seems like Allen’s speed, doesn't it? And Allen also said that ironically as he's gotten older and picked up weight (he said his playing weight is 245), he's gotten faster and more athletic. Crazy stuff. My bad... I see it's been mentioned
  11. I just remember a month or two ago Allen saying he would prefer not to run all the time in order to prevent injury. I don't have the exact quote, but I think it's in the back of his mind... and that might be because the coaches have put it in his mind... I dunno. That said, I do think after that a switch went off in his brain that he was being too careful about not running. That's probably part of why he was the 7th leading rusher in the league in the last month or so of the season.
  12. I don't think it does, but I agree it's quite possible. We're gonna have a new OC next year... I'll be curious to see the approach. I'm still assuming it's Dorsey, who would likely take the same approach.
  13. Most impressive throw of Allen’s career is still that TD pass to Diggs last year against the Patriots where he evaded pressure, rolled left and threw a 30+ yard dart moving left with defenders barreling in on him.
  14. Anyone else think that pretty much every one of those Josh Allen throws is better than every one of those Mahomes' throws?
  15. It's bizarre. And I think the Ravens are nuts if they pay him what we paid Allen this offseason. You really do have to wonder if he's another flash in the pan.
  16. The way Buffalo is playing, bring on anyone.
  17. That play alone changed my mind on whether we should keep him or let him go next year to save some cap money. And to be clear, I never wanted to see him go... I just thought he was one of the more logical cap casualties. But Hyde and Poyer are the lifeblood of Buffalo’s D. Find a way to keep both as long as they're playing at a high level.
  18. That was the game changer. Seemed like the Patriots were getting momentum... NOPE!!!
  19. Look... we should win. Better team. Better Quarterback by a gazillion miles. We should win. Probably should win big. That's not something I'm banking on... and as soon as the ball kicks up all my nervous energy will come flooding in. But it sure would be nice to see this team continue to be the dominant team it's been since the 2nd half of the Bucs game.
  20. The only ball I can really recall that was really ugly was an overthrow on a wide open deep ball. What you said was this: "For large stretches of the game, the Bills’ offense looked pretty bad. Well, let’s say for large stretches of the game, Josh Allen looked pretty bad." You don't think that sounds like a generally damning statement on Allen? And yes, I know you mention the wind next... but everybody knew wind was a factor. Just like everybody knew wind was a factor against the Patriots in Orchard Park on MNF. Yet Allen consistently delivered the football to his receivers in BOTH games. I don't even agree with the premise that going against the wind was a problem. Allen did it pretty successfully in the 4th quarter of that Patriots game and generally against the Jets as well. But I saw dropped pass after dropped pass after miscommunication after miscommunication. Yes you might be right that we should've just started running because that was what worked rather than passing... but if that's the case, maybe we need to consider revamping out passing weapons Allen throws the ball to, because there were way too many game altering plays left on the field by our pass catchers... not Allen.
  21. Shaw I always appreciate these, but I have to disagree about Allen looking bad. There were multiple drops and multiple plays of miscommunication between him and the WRs. So what doesn't Allen do? Just like in the Falcons game where the passing game doesn't work he runs the ball and (clearly) audibles into some RB runs for a run game that's finally working. His completion percentage may have sucked, but he didn't turn the ball over and passed for 2 TDs that were nearly 3. I love the neglect of Allen right now. Pro Bowl snub. Doubt he gets a vote for MVP or All-pro. This is the type of thing I can see driving him in the playoffs. And I hope it gives him absolutely no hesitation to run the ball when he should... which will likely happen a lot on Saturday alone.
  22. I just hope Patriot fans don't show up in force. But I'll tell ya... I will NEVER go to a game this cold! Aside from TV being just generally better viewing in my opinion, living in Hawaii has wildly thinned out my blood. Sometimes the annual early October home game I try to make is too cold!
