  1. I know we all have mixed feelings about PFF, but watching this made me feel good
  2. I have some mixed feelings about this, to be honest. I was absolutely stoked on the one hand about getting a future HOFer on our DL to put some pressure on QBs. On the other hand (and I realize this sounds insane), I would've just rather resigned Hughes for another 2 or 3 years at a price $5 million less per year so we could go out and get a couple other potential pieces like a #2 CB and an RB I haven't watched enough of him lately, but is Miller still a force on his own? I thought Hughes was a really good player for us and a team leader. His stats might not have always reflected it but he was really good for us last year. I am relieved this isn't actually what I thought it was. It's really a 3 year, $52.5 million contract. But my honest initial reaction when I saw 6 year, $120 million for a 33 year old (in just over a week) was NOT excitement.
  3. Didn't feel like starting a thread on its own... but we all heard people saying "Buffalo is a FA destination now," yet we just had an RB choose Washington over us and Chandler Jones choose the Raiders over us. I know McKissic wasn't outbid for... he just chose Washington over Buffalo. No clue what we were offering Jones. Buffalo is clearly the better team, but was this Buffalo vs Las Vegas? I'm not freaking out because we still have Josh Allen and outside of an edge rusher we now need to replace Hughes, a #2 CB and an RB, we don't have any glaring needs. Does anyone have an update on our CAP room with the latest Hyde restructure? I feel like Buffalo has some money to spend. Is Beane trying to pull off some kinda big trade? Is he waiting for the 1st wave of FA to see if guys like Hughes are coming back? Not freaking out, but I really did think we'd be more active, and I am honestly pretty surprised at McKissic's latest choice of Washington over Buffalo. Anyone else?
  4. I'm starting to wonder if we're keeping Beas. I think we should still draft J Williams if he falls to us in the 1st, regardless.
  5. True hometown discount. Woulda earned more on the open market. Was happy when it was 8 mil because we know the player he is. Completely stoked now.
  6. Regardless... I honestly think he could be an integral part of our offense the next couple years (and beyond since he wants to be here?) in this offense.
  7. Sounds like we got a hometown discount You're reading way too much into it
  8. Walter Payton nominee for Buffalo. Great person. That's just way too much for the player. Hope he earns it. Good luck!
  9. With all due respect, insulting a poster who views this as a bad move brings your football knowledge into question. McKenzie was really the ONLY all purpose weapon Buffalo has had on the team for the last few years. Citing his stats is fine n dandy except we all know stats lie... especially when they're comprehensive season stats for a player who was given such a limited role this season. If you watched McKenzie play over the now 4 years he's been in Buffalo you'd see a player worth the money. At worst we've got our #4 WR & KR/PR. At best we might have a replacement for Cole and more of an all-purpose replacement who could even potentially be thrown in at RB every once in awhile. WIN!!!
  10. This is awesome. I think if McKenzie is actually utilized in an offense consistently he can basically be a poor man's Tyreek Hill. And anyone criticizing me saying that's a good thing... look at the other WRs in our WR corps ahead of him vs the other WRs in KC's WR corps.. For some reason Daboll stopped using him this year until the 2nd half of the season. Loved what we did with him in 2020 with all the motions and jet sweeps. I hope Stevenson figures out the return position so we can save McKenzie for the offense.
  11. Our QB isn't just eye candy and a super athlete, he's also S-M-R-T
  12. I think most of us feel this way about Davis, but in today's NFL you can never have enough WRs and if I'm not mistaken in terms of last year's roster we only have 3 under contract, one of whom was a rookie last year who hasn't demonstrated he belongs on the field and it's pretty clear we're trading or cutting another one. We need to draft/sign multiple viable Wide Receivers... period.
  13. Who cares as long as we're playing them at home? And with the current state of the AFC why would you even assume it'd be Miami or the Patriots we'd play? The way I look at it there are 4 teams who will win their divisions and there will be 3 Wildcard teams. Even before this move there were already 7 teams outside of Buffalo I don't think anyone would consider a tomato can KC, LAC, LVR, Cin, Balt, Ind, Ten Toss in a traditionally well-run organization like Pittsburgh and a really good roster with a question mark at QB and you've got 9 AFC teams that I don't think anyone would call creampuffs. The fact is that I think most would agree that the Chiefs were still viewed as the cream of the crop and the favorite in general in the AFC. Their road just got harder. And even if Denver didn't just acquire Wilson, our 1st round draw in the playoffs might've been Jonathan Taylor or Derrick Henry. Honestly, those guys scare me more than Russell Wilson, considering we have 5 years of Buffalo teams struggling against Elite RBs.
  14. Again, Buffalo is 3-0 under McDermott at home in the playoffs and 0-4 on the road. There's not any measurable way to assess the impact playing in KC had on Buffalo, but it's foolish and naive to think it had zero impact. And any impact in a game like that may just have been one of if not THE deciding factor.
  15. You think Denver is going 5-1 or 6-0 in that division? On top of playing each other the AFC West also plays the NFC West this year. Yes, Denver just got a lot better... but we don't play them during the regular season next year and they got better in a division with the team that's bounced us out of the playoffs the last 2 years in part because we've had to play on the road.
  16. yeah... which helps the Bills
  17. Right now Sean McDermott's teams are 3-0 at home in the playoffs and 0-4 on the road. Until we lose a home playoff game, I think it's a hard argument to make that significantly increased odds of being at home throughout the playoffs is a negative.
  18. Totally disagree. Buffalo has the path laid out for them to get the #1 seed to get the 1st round bye and home games throughout the playoffs. The AFC West is going to be a war of attrition throughout the year. Does anyone legitimately think ANY team in that division will go 5-1 or 6-0 at this point? Would anyone bet against Buffalo going 5-1 or 6-0 in the AFC East? This is fantastic for Buffalo I think specifically because of what it does to Kansas City.
  19. Are you saying this as though Wilson is old? 33 is pretty young for NFL QBs who actually bother to take care of themselves nowadays... and Wilson does just that.
  20. Absolutely. Right now things are setting up for Buffalo and Josh Allen similarly to how it was set up for Brady and the Patriots for years. Buffalo is playing in the 2nd worst division in the AFC (AFC South is pretty obviously the worst) and Buffalo is more dominant than the most dominant team in the AFC South (Titans? Colts?). Without any offseason moves at this point and knowing that our opponents next season are the AFC North (now minus Big Ben and Cleveland is still a mess) and NFC North (possibly the weakest NFC conference) and at this moment I wonder if the Vegas needle has moved from Kansas City to Buffalo for next season as far as who wins the AFC and Super Bowl.
  21. Gotta love the war of attrition the AFC West will now be
  22. I really don't understand the compensatory draft formula. Can someone try to explain it to me? Is it true that coaching staff losses would also be included? If this is the case I sure would expect we'll get at least an extra pick or 2. That means we'd have 10 or 11 picks in the upcoming draft. I anticipate some wheeling and dealing on Beane's part
