  1. No... "best case scenario" is NOT a minor Grade 1 sprain necessarily. Here... I'm going to post this for a 3rd time and direct you to 2:35 and keep watching for about a minute. This is where he describes what is probably "best case scenario," which is nerve irritation. It's basically the nerve getting knocked out of place and shouldn't cause him to miss much, if any time. But again, watch the explanation from someone explaining different possiblities of injuries for Allen with visuals.
  2. Everything is just speculation right now, but that whole nerve thing is explained in that Youtube video I've now posted twice in this thread. It's actually kinda best-case-scenario in a lot of ways and this might even mean there's no sprain at all. The nerve issue they may be talking about is the equivalent of you hitting your funny bone and having that tingly feeling. With Allen it was just bad enough that it took longer than the normal couple minutes to fix itself, but they apparently usually resolve themselves pretty quickly. So... if that's actually a "report" that it was the nerve issue thing involving Allen's grip of the football, I think that's honestly truly best-case scenario (other than him not getting injured, obviously) and who knows if that report is based on Allen's status today or right after the injury itself.
  3. Apparently this is the guy some of you want starting this week:
  4. The thing is, Graziano is being pretty transparent about the fact that what he's saying is just an educated guess and nothing more. It's everyone else who's reacting to this as some kind of reporting. Well... there is a way this team could earn itself another bye week... and I don't think it's with this guy:
  5. And then as soon as the media sneaks out Allen jumps right in
  6. Ever consider that sitting him out all week from practice may actually be the cautious approach itself? It's all still speculation on what Josh's injury is and it's automatically going to the things that aren't even the least common denominator, which is basically temporary nerve displacement during the game, which would have resulted in that tingly funny bone feeling you get in your arm and hand. Those resolve themselves pretty quickly. I'm not saying that is what happened. But it's one of the potential results that no one is talking about. And if it is that, I could see McDermott still sitting Josh all week just out of an abundance of caution while still planning/hoping to play him on Sunday. I just think it's odd that absolutely everyone seems to know what his injury is. All we know is what we saw on Sunday. A play that looked like it could have been a brutal injury followed by a play where Allen threw the ball and grabbed his elbow and squeezed his hand (almost as if he hit his funny bone) and then followed that up with a 70 yard bomb that didn't seem to cause him all that much pain as you watched him after the play and in the PC. Regardless of anything, Allen could miss this week's game. I still think he plays but I absolutely could see McDermott sitting him thinking it's not a conference game so it doesn't matter as much. But I don't remotely think Allen would miss more than 1 game if it happens.
  7. Notice the wording. This isn't sourcing. It's a guess. When McDermott held Allen out yesterday he was more than likely to hold Allen out today and probably even tomorrow. The key will be the injury report tomorrow as that will be the best hint. We already know McDermott said he's taking things "day-to-day" with Allen and said "we'll see" in reference to Allen playing Sunday. Allen didn't practice yesterday and isn't practicing today so unless he fell/falls down the stairs or something, he hasn't and won't suffer a setback. So the question will be how he's looking tomorrow and more importantly how he's feeling Sunday. Allen could still not play Sunday. I still think he will while also thinking he won't practice tomorrow, either.
  8. I wasn't betting, just asking if you'd leave out of embarrassment. I, on the other hand, acknowledged that it's possible he doesn't play, but that it's much more likely he plays now.
  9. A lot of us mainly because evidence leans more towards him playing than not. Are you so adamant that he won't play that you'll leave the board if he does?
  10. As he should and as I would expect him to for the rest of the year.
  11. You're being ridiculous and apparently also need glasses. Even if you extend that play all the way up until the moment Josh throws the ball to Davis there are 2 players on Knox's side of the field. One is at the 1st down marker and 1 is 12 yards beyond the 1st down marker. Knox is about 15 yards away from the 1st down plus another defender who was spying Josh and followed him to the other side of the field but was still only on the hash at the time he set up to throw. Throwing to Knox at that point was stupid and would have been a much worse decision than the throw to Davis (which was a great throw that was very catchable) considering that it would have been a throw across the field, how short of the stix Knox was and the 2, probably 3 defenders who could have gotten to him even at that point. Those are the simple facts. Are you this stubborn in your everyday life?
  12. YES!!!! This was another interesting thing after reading about and researching the injury a little. One of the things that apparently could have happened based on the injury was essentially his nerve being pulled a little out of place, which results in that tingly funny bone feeling you just mentioned. That was referred to as basically the best case scenario because it's something that goes away relatively quickly. I think this guy has some of that explanation: And some would ask "well if that's all it is, why isn't he practicing?" Well... that might not be all it is. But based on the way the injury looked I could see McDermott wanting to give Josh every single day he can this week to rest to make sure he's recovered as much as possible for Sunday's game. Afterall, isn't Josh at the point in his career where he can miss practice during the work week and be good on gameday?
  13. What makes you think him playing really risks a complete tear that much? From what I understand the injury happened because of the really awkward way his hand was held at the back of his throwing motion and it injured a part of the elbow that would affect baseball pitchers more than QBs. And it seems if he's using different muscles and parts of his elbow while throwing there's not much risk of making the injury worse unless he gets hit in the exact same way, which is why you lean a little more on the run game, quick passes, and rolling pockets. I wouldn't say "he's 100% playing," but I think the evidence suggests he's a lot more likely to play than not. I don't understand the thought process of people like you who believe he's 100% not playing.
  14. I said my reasoning earlier in the thread, but here are my reasons: 1) Josh injured his arm and then still threw 2 passes. Yes, the first pass he threw (3rd and 21) was when he grabbed his arm. But the next throw he chucked it 70 yards. 2) After that final throw the cameras showing him did not show him in pain grabbing his arm. 3) Compare that all with the similar injury he had in his rookie year against the Texans where he hurt it on one play and then on the next play when he threw it he was in obvious pain and pulled himself out of the game. 4) After the game he showed up and the PC without any ice or splint or anything on his elbow. Those are the reasons I wasn't really overly worried about any prognosis. It was clear it wasn't going to be as bad as his rookie year injury where he missed 4 games. So... that left the question of whether he would miss any. Then we get to the question of whether he'd miss any... 5) Reports yesterday from Rap and others that it was just a strain and Josh would probably play through it. 6) Diggs's tweet. Just a piece of the puzzle, but Diggs is sly on twitter so (I believe) it was clear he was saying something about Josh. 7) McDermott doesn't exactly have a history of saying "he's fine" when players have potential injuries, so of course he's erring on the side of caution. The day-to-day designation was at minimum what he was going to call. 8 Yes, reports are that Josh won't practice today. Might not tomorrow either. That's the part that I could say gives me pause, but why not err on the side of caution? It's not like Josh doesn't know the offense. If it's a minor sprain... those extra 1 or 2 days could give the opportunity for the elbow to heal even more... maybe to the point he doesn't feel any pain. 9) Like it or not, Buffalo DOES want (and would really benefit from) having the #1 seed and homefield advantage in the playoffs. I think the players know that. And I think McDermott does, too. Not a betting man, but I'd put money on Josh playing on Sunday.
  15. So... I saw the update with McDermott saying "day to day" and I'm a little shocked at how many of you think Josh isn't playing Sunday? I'm assuming everyone is going on the previous "day to day" designations (Milano, White, etc.) and McDermott's choice to sit them? Said it earlier in this thread, but there was no way in hell this was ever going to come out as a "everything is rosy and Josh is fine" report from McDermott no matter what he heard from Josh or the Doctors. Day to day means he's playing, to me. Let him sit today and tomorrow and continue to treat the elbow. McDermott has no need to reveal that he thinks Josh will play, so why would he? One of the interesting things I read and saw was that with that injury, it's an awkward spot for a QB but it's really not hugely impacted by the throwing motion of a QB. And you could see that in the way his arm got hit. I expect Josh plays and Dorsey relies a little more on the running game, but not as much as people would expect. A lot of quick passes and rolling pockets to come. And give Josh the green light even moreso to run, because I'm sorry... this notion that Josh running will significantly shorten his career has already been challenged with what look like his 2 worst injuries inside the pocket in his rookie year and last week.
  16. Thanks for posting that link and confirming how ridiculous you're being. Josh rolled out to the right and sees Knox 5 or 6 yards in front of the LOS. Ya know what else he sees and is probably the reason he chooses not to throw to Knox? Not 1. Not 2. But 3 defenders right around the 1st down marker... which was 15 yards from where Knox would have caught the ball. Plus there's another defender 11 yards beyond the marker. If you really thought a 1 on 4 scenario on 4th down was a better option on 4th and 21--literally an unthinkable 1st down scenario for most QBs--than the throw Josh made (which was a catchable ball that would have immediately put us in game-tying field position with the opportunity for more) then you don't know football.
  17. Is this based on an All-22 view? If you have a still shot of the entire field at second 31 on the game clock so we can quibble over how many defenders could get him let's see it because after that point Knox doesn't become an option.
  18. You're insane. Knox had at least 15 yards to the sticks with 7 defenders ahead of him when Josh could have thrown to him. Do you miss the days of Trent Edwards or something?
  19. See @Scott7975 for the response. This wasn't a Josh Allen problem. It was a Gabe Davis problem. The ball was literally in his arms. You're just being obstinate at this point.
  20. This is my gut feeling too. Let's hope we're right. I don't really even think McDermott will specify the injury, but if he says Josh will be limited this week, it's pretty clear he's playing Sunday. Still might be the case if he announces day to day, too.
  21. #1: you claimed there was no scenario in which that ball was completed. Get your glasses on if you need them because there's no scenario what you said there is accurate: #2: it was 4th and 21. Who was he throwing to underneath? I sure don't see any better options than that Davis throw.
