  1. Pretty much. It's weird the way Josh is being held to a different standard than the "frontrunners" right now.
  2. I rolled my eyes because you aren't allowing yourself to consider the similarities. Here's a stroll down memory lane in terms of our feelings toward our offense and OC in 2021: Similarities between 2021 and 2023 are pretty obvious, including the offensive inconsistency. In 2021, Buffalo's worst scoring outputs were 6, 10, 15 and 16 points whereas in 2023 the worst offensive outputs are 14, 16, 18 and 20.
  3. I'm sure there are, but that was one of the primary points Erik was making. I don't think he was saying they're missing completely, just that they aren't in our offense enough.
  4. Did you watch the video and listen to what Erik was saying? He indicates that most offenses provide more concepts in each half of the field that have a stronger chance of coming open. Dorsey's offense largely stresses efficiency without as many opportunities for Josh to really push it down the field. Erik's probably watched exponentially more film than all of us and what he says is that most offenses give their QBs the chance to see multiple WRs in his field of vision without having to fully turn their head to the opposite side of the field. That doesn't mean Josh never does it and that other QBs don't. What it means is that it's smart scheming to put multiple routes that are likely to come open in the QBs field of vision and Dorsey's offense doesn't really do that.
  5. I repeat... anyone thinking Dane Jackson was the problem last night wasn't watching.
  6. What an untimely and stupid thread. Jackson was actually one of the best players on the field yesterday.
  7. Not sure you watch anything other than Bills football. Is this about making the playoffs or strictly offensive production? I'm pretty confused because I assumed based off the thread title it was about making the playoffs. But if it's about offensive production, Buffalo is 2nd in the NFL in total TDs. Scoring across the NFL is down this year. Look at the Chiefs. Would you prefer to be the Chargers? They're 3-4 and have scored 34, 24, 28, 24, 17, 17, & 30.
  8. They were "meh" until mid December in 2021. And to answer your previous question of how this year is like that year... how am I supposed to do that? This year just passed the halfway mark. I guess I'd say in 2021 at this point we were 6-3 while this year we're 5-4. Of all our remaining games, the only game I don't really think we can win is against Philly. Much like the Bengals yesterday, I think Philly is just a terrible matchup for us. Every other game, Buffalo can win. I'm not saying they will, but they can. Kansas City is a much better matchup for us than the Bengals. Cowboys are at home. Jets are at home. Broncos are at home. Chargers might be one of the worst teams remaining on our schedule. Patriots are the worst... plus it'll probably be a revenge game. Beating the Phins in Miami will be tough... except Josh Allen vs. Miami. We'll end up with a record between 9-8 and 11-6. I think 12-5 is a real possibility, but I doubt we win every game other than Philly. We're halfway through a Bills season. Only half the story of 2023 is written. Let it play out.
  9. I'm just glad it sounds like he's coming around on the "Dorsey's a big problem!" train!
  10. Weren't we outside looking in at 7-6 during 2021?
  11. Really? Outside of that first game against the Jets, Allen has been pretty consistent, actually. If you really want to play the "let's exclude these games because..." game (which is silly... those 3 games you mentioned are 1/3rd of the season), then let's throw in the Jets game to exclude. In the 5 games since the Miami game, Josh has averaged 300 yards per game, had a 71.7% completion %, 13 TDs and 6 turnovers. A lot of Mahomes's stats are from beatdowns against the Chargers and Bears. Those games aren't remotely the same as the rest of his season. And so it all goes back to #QBwinz. Buffalo needs to start winning and win against good teams in the national spotlight. Yesterday was really Allen's first chance to do that. He and the team failed. Still has more chances, but I don't have faith with our current OC.
  12. I don't know... but by the very definition of it, Josh Allen is the MVP of this team, that's for sure. As for everything else... Josh ain't winning the MVP race at this point, but I don't really think it's on him. As long as Dorsey is our OC, this team will be too inconsistent offensively. Allen is still having a really good season, overall, though. 4th in passing yards 2nd in Completion % 1st in TDs etc.
  13. What do you mean by done? Right now we're 1 game out of 1st place in our division
  14. This and the thread questioning McDermott as HC should really be the only hot threads this week. Look... Buffalo will still make the playoffs. Come at me with your vitriol if you want, but I will bet you on it. Cincy is just a terrible matchup for us. I actually feel pretty good about winning every other game the rest of the way, other than Philly. But as @HappyDays pointed out, Dorsey just doesn't have any feel for the game. Loved his description of calling the game as though he's using AI. Josh Allen is a Mustang Dorsey refuses to let out the gate until we're way behind. I really, really thought he found something against the Bucs. That was the offense I was honestly expecting to see the rest of the season. I'm really pissed right now because I think the coach(es... maybe???) are the problem, not the players. Changing coaches and scheme takes way more bravado than changing players. And if you want my prediction for the rest of the season since some of you are ready to throw grenades at me for saying we still make the playoffs: Win vs Denver (we destroy them. It's what McDermott teams do coming off a loss like that. Win vs Jets (we aren't losing to them a 2nd time... probably won't be pretty though) Loss @ Philly (just not seeing it) Win @ KC (unlike Cincy, we actually matchup well against them.. plus the bye) Toss-up vs Dallas (could see this with so many outcomes) Win @LAC (they just aren't good) Win vs NE (See NYJ commentary) Toss-up @ Miami (I honestly would call this a Win because we own them, but leaning conservative) So... at worst Buffalo has 10 wins. I think they get 11 though. Still in the playoffs. I just hope we don't face the Bengals. And please fire Dorsey, time to see what Joe Brady has.
  15. Beane did recently say his injury goes back to camp. Apparently he was on the report the last 2 weeks. Was he before that?
  16. One could also argue we got a bit of a break with a mini bye before Cincinnati and a full bye before Kansas City
  17. You'd think... except that Elam was never listed on the injury report and now he's on IR and (correct me if I'm wrong) is reportedly having surgery on that ankle.
  18. Work your magic Mr. Beane!
  19. What does the money thing in 2023 and 2024 mean? Packers are paying that much of his salary for those years?
  20. If we do this I assume we'd give them Elam and a pick, right?
