  1. I'm amazed (though not surprised) with posters like you who are just doubling down time after time again. How do you know we're not championship contenders right now?
  2. Oh man... this is going to utterly shock jmc.
  3. Where would Buffalo rank if you took out Taylor's 175 rushing yards? It's a pretty precipitous drop, actually. From 8 to being tied with Indy at 19. Go back in your closet and keep praying we get a QB of Trevor Siemian's caliber.
  4. Dude, the Tyrod debate literally will never be answered as long as he's in Buffalo. It was supposed to be answered by the end of his first year. It wasn't. It was supposed to be answered by the end of his 2nd year. It wasn't. It was supposed to be answered in the first half of this season. It hasn't been. The reason it hasn't been answered and will literally never be answered as long as he's Buffalo's QB is simply because "passing offense" is measured by YARDZZZ, rather than a combination of important passing stats (and also team approach) and I would honestly bet you that no matter what QB Sean McDermott had, his approach will always take us out of the top of the league in that ever-so-important passing statistic. Oh, so it really was a reading comprehension problem, then? You honestly didn't understand my point about coaching and offensive approach? Super sorry, dude. I'll try to dumb it down next time.
  5. No. That's not what I was telling you. You're either trolling (which I hope is the case for the sake of your own intelligence) or clearly you have a really hard time understanding what you read .
  6. Yeah, that's because he had terrible QBs in Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage. I mean, I know that you'd probably love either of those guys over Taylor, but they absolutely suck. And guess what, despite technically being the 29th ranked passing offense, due to yards, they were 14th in total pass attempts, which tells you the coach still wanted to throw it, his QBs just sucked too much, throwing for a paltry 5.9 YPA, which was by far the worst in the NFL. Nice try, though
  7. Well that's part of the reason I asked Wayne for specific instances this year where Watson was getting the points Taylor wasn't. It's like people think it's an apples to apples translation of what a QB does with one team to another. Bill O'Brien- Offensive Coach with an offensive mind Sean McDermott- Defensive Coach with a defensive mind McDermott doesn't really like to pass the football unless he's behind, which has been only 35% of the entire time we've played this season, yet during that 35% of our season, Taylor has 52% of his completions and 62.5% of his TDs. Taylor's actually been pretty damn good when we've been behind. He has the 6th best passer rating. You really think it's just so inevitable he was going to put more responsibility on Watson's shoulders than Taylor's? If anything, I think Watson, a rookie, would have been throwing even less than Taylor under McDermott. But I just love the way people clamor for other QBs while totally neglecting the head coach or offensive system/philosophy already in place.
  8. Not bothering to read through this thread, but this comment really must be roughing up some feathers
  9. Can you give me some specific examples of when? Oh, but with those possible points would also come more turnovers.
  10. Damn. I thought you were past this YARDZZZ!!! obsession and were starting to see things more clearly. Do you really think Deshaun Watson would be averaging 243 YPG and have 19 TD passes if we had the exact same Buffalo Bills but just swapped Taylor out for Watson?
  11. If true, what McDermott said publicly in the preseason about our Franchise QB already being on the roster and Tyrod being it might have been much more than the "coach speak" most made it out to be
  12. But the real question is would you still take Siemian over Tyrod?
  13. I still miss "Ten things I think I think"
  14. Nice read, Shaw. Thanks for taking us on your journey. One thing about Taylor. I really don't think this was a great game by him, but what I think this game does is lend itself to an overall picture of a Tyrod Taylor who seems to be improving and becoming more consistent. Taylor currently has the 6th best passer rating in the NFL when his team is trailing. The thing is, the Bills have only actually been behind 35% of the time the Bills have played. The rest of the 65% of the time we've either been tied or ahead. Yet, in that 35% of time so far, Taylor has attempted 49% of all his attempts, completed 53% of all his completions for 51% of all his yards and 62.5% of all his TDs. I think McDermott's offensive philosophy is really reflected in that. If we have a lead, he just wants to run, run, run to eat the clock and let his D hold the fort. If we get behind, he wants a QB who he can tell, "okay, go get 'em!!!" Right now, Taylor's playing really well when McDermott needs him, too. He didn't need Taylor to do so all that much during the Raiders, but in those critical moments, he did.
  15. You claimed he was "gawd-awful" enough to make a bet that he'd be replaced by Nate friggin Peterman by the end of the year. But keep backtracking
  16. Okay, I want to point something very simple out to you. These are Taylor's numbers when trailing in games this year: 96 ATT 66 COMP 68.8 % 679 Yards 7.1 AVG 44 Long 5 TD 1 INT 101.9 Rating His 101.9 Passer Rating is the 6th best in the NFL. And before you accuse him of minimal attempts compared to the rest of NFL QBs, that might be true on the whole, but not so much when trailing. He has a dozen more attempts than Watson does when trailing, for example, even though Watson averages more attempts per game than Taylor. Actually, I was curious so I went and checked through the play-by-plays to track and compare how many minutes we've been trailing as a team and what I found is I think an interesting display of both Taylor's value and our offensive approach. Buffalo has only trailed about 35% of all the 400 minutes of football they've played. In that 35% of those 400 minutes, Taylor has attempted 49% of all his attempts, completed 53% of all his completions for 51% of all his yards and 62.5% of all his TDs. It's like McDermott wants Taylor to be like a burner on a gas stove, when you need to heat up adjust quickly to higher heat and once you get what you're cooking to the temperature you want turn it down and let it simmer, but watch it and be ready to turn it back up if you need to. You can look at his total yardage if you want and see that he got significantly less than Carr did and call Carr a better QB because of that, but it's a ludicrous argument to make. Taylor's getting his yards when they're most needed right now. And it's working.
  17. I'm not really paying attention to the sports shows or anything, but I hope this is drawing some national attention. It's stuff like this that are the reasons kids start playing sports in the first place. Football is the purest team game I think there is and that play just really exemplifies that and I absolutely love what McDermott is doing.
  18. McDermott really seems like a special coach. That won't necessarily translate to a Super Bowl or playoffs, but I'm really glad we have him as our coach And I love that he's immersing himself in the fan culture, too
  19. Regardless, hope you're ready to get your avatar changed to some big ole Tyrod lovin image
  20. Yep... this is what's irritating about this entire conversation about Taylor is that some people are living in Fantasy land... pun intended
  21. Here's an update on Taylor's numbers when trailing: 96 ATT 66 COMP 68.8 % 679 Yards 7.1 AVG 44 Long 5 TD 1 INT 101.9 Rating I was curious so I just went and checked through the play-by-plays to track and compare how many minutes we've been trailing as a team and what I found is I think an interesting display of both Taylor's value and our offensive approach. 22. I'm just glad most people seem to realize the whole "YARDZZ!!!!" argument is just stupid when it comes to this QB and this team.
