  1. I'm sorry, do you really think that someone has to like absolutely everything about a coach or a player that they like? Is that what you believe? Well, that's just disturbing... but that doesn't mean I don't like you Yes, it disturbed me. That doesn't mean that I don't still like Mcdermott.
  2. You disagree that McDermott might not last? So you think he's going to be our head coach forever? You believe he's untouchable? You believe that if we do fire Dennison and this conservative "hold on for dear life to your lead and let the defense seal the victory" carries on into next year with a new OC, indicating that it's really and largely McDermotts approach, that it might not get him in some serious trouble as we start to lose games? 2nd year Head Coaches are fired all the time in the NFL nowadays.
  3. This is a really nice find, Hap. It's just insane how bad our offense this year has been on first and second down. It's just so friggin predictable based on whatever formation we line up in. And yet, Taylor has having his best year so far in converting those third downs even though they're usually third and long on average. Forgot about that. The offensive playcalling has just been so overwhelmingly bad far too often.
  4. Even with Peterman Dennison tried to stick with the run and chose to run at some weird times. So damn predictable. Here are the 1st plays on 1st down from that game in the 1st half: 1st drive - Shady run -1 yard 2nd drive - Shady run 2 yards 3rd drive - Shady run for 37 yards (he would run on the next play as well and score) 4th drive - Peterman pass for 8 yards 5th drive - Peterman pass intercepted 6th drive - Shady run for -3 yards 7th drive - Shady run for 6 yards 8th drive - Peterman pass for 19 yards 13 shotgun snaps. All passes. No runs. 12 snaps taken under center in that span and only 4 passes. 2 interceptions, 1 completion, 1 incompletions. 8 runs by Shady. 5 of them he was stuffed for 2 yards or less. You tellin me the Chargers didn't know what was comin? Dennison still sure seemed to want to run the ball a lot, even with his Golden Boy. He just couldn't because we went behind so quickly that we pretty much had to pass.
  5. Well that's interesting... I didn't know that. Seems to explain his conservative approach a bit. Defensive Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator with a defensive background... offense would pretty much inevitably be pretty conservative. You're absolutely right. We had fantastic field position and could have put the game away. But then Dennison called 3 straight runs that gained zero yards on 1st down, -1 yard on 2nd down, and -1 yard on 3rd down.
  6. Offensive system might be the same. But offensive system doesn't matter if you aren't calling the right plays at the right times. Dennison seems to have piss poor decision making in terms of play selection.
  7. Where the hell am I talking about scheme? I'm talking conservative playcalling, not scheme. Some people read what they want to read and attack the messenger by twisting the message, I guess
  8. In what world does "might not last" = "he will be fired this year" ...? only in Shady's world... and a handful of other illiterate worlds residing in this thread, apparently
  9. The same approach happened when we went up by 2 scores on the Jets in week 1 very early in the 4th quarter. We had 3 meaningful drives if you disregard the last 3 kneeldowns by Taylor. 13 plays, 2 passes, 8 handoffs to RBs, 3 designed runs by Taylor. Those 8 runs by the RBs gained a combined 9 yards. There were two 3 & outs as the team faced a 3rd & 9, a 3rd & 8, a 3rd & 7, and a 3rd & 17 (due to an accepted holding penalty on a failed conversion by McCoy on 3rd & 7 as he got 3 yards). Question, why are you saying they're the most inept team we've faced all season? Is this a "it's not about who you face, but when you face them" type of thing? Would that then mean that you are more impressed by Buffalo's victory over Denver and Atlanta (both teams were undefeated when we played them) than KC?
  10. How long did our last head coach last?
  11. Two passes that weren't catchable to Jones? Is one of the passes you are talking about that near perfect pass that hit Jones in the hands right at the beginning of the end zone where Jones and then defied gravity as he pushed himself up from the ground?
  12. Really? Explain away because I gave you a whole bunch of reality. That Dennison's very conservative is not reality? That we were way too close to losing that game on Sunday when we probably could've put it away at several different points is not reality? That if we lost that football game and lost other games where we had a similar mentality at the end of the game Denver, Atlanta that we wouldn't be looking like a really bad football team is not reality? that really bad football teams haven't had their head coaches go into year to on an extremely short leash is not reality? Have you been a fan of the Buffalo Bills very long? Try looking at recent history We all know that Taylor will be gone after 2018 if not 2017. My concern is Dennison and, in part, McDermott. I'm off-base despite you half agreeing with me? Apparently you're misreading what I said about McDermott as a lot of people here seem to be. Never said and don't think he's going to be gone after this year.
  13. Actually, you have no clue what you're talking about. In general, I really really like Mcdermott. I was one of the only people talking about playoffs as we went into the season and it was because of the coach and the culture change that he seem to bring, which is one of the things I really like.I was one of the only people talking about playoffs as we went into the season and it was because of the coach and the culture change that he seem to bring, which is one of the things I really like. And I never said that I think he'll be gone this offseason. But if he keeps up this conservative mentality on offense (assuming of course that he's a large influence of the offensive philosophy), then I don't think this is sustainable long-term.
  14. Wait, are you actually saying that Taylor is calling the offensive plays in the second half? Right. We called 9 passes. 26 passes called in the 1st half. 9 in the 2nd half.
  15. I think he's inevitably still here next year, but I'm worried about how much influence he has in this conservative offensive philosophy. If it's very little, I'm not that concerned, but Dennison better be gone. Yeah, that's not really what I'm saying. This is a question of sustainability.
  16. no matter who he has at QB: he/they is/are uber conservative on offense. Contrary to popular belief, the Bills pretty consistently do establish the pass early in games, it's just they don't stick with it once they get a lead because they want to run out the clock. This is why I want to bang my head against a wall with some people who adamantly argue that Taylor isn't a serious contributor to these wins and people who argue that any other QB who comes in will just automatically fix things and be better. It's like people don't bother watching games and just look at the box score in the end. Just look at passing in 1st half of the KC game vs passing in the 2nd half. 1st half 15/24 for 121 yards and 1 TD 0 sacks 2 scrambles for 13 yards 0 passes called back on penalties 26 total passing plays for 134 total yards We went into the half up by 10 points: 13-3 2nd half 4/5 for 62 yards 2 sacks minus 19 yards 2 scrambles for 12 yards 9 total passing plays for 55 total yards There's an ebb and flow to the conservative way McDermott and Dennison call their plays. In a game where we're behind, Taylor passes significantly more, in a game we're tied, Taylor passes less, in a 1 score game with the lead, even less, and in a 2 score game, we pass a lot less. The Bills went up by 2 scores (10 points) just under 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter. Up to that point, Taylor threw 16 passes in 27 plays. 59% passing rate. Then the Bills went up by 2 scores and on their next drive and he only threw 3 passes on 12 plays. 25% passing rate. Then the Chiefs kicked a FG and came within 1 score and the Bills got the ball back with less than 2 minutes and Taylor threw 6 passes in 7 plays to lead the team to a FG to go up by 10 points. 86% passing rate. Then 5 passes in the 2nd half. On the entire year, only 71 of Taylor's 308 passes this year have come when the Bills have been leading, but only 12 of those passes have come when this team has been up by 2 or more scores (9 points or more). There's only one other NFL QB who's thrown 4 times more total passes than number of passes from behind: Mithchell Trubisky with the head coach John Foxx, a notoriously conservative Head Coach. And before you just automatically point the finger at Trubisky, take a look at the Colts with Jacoby Brissett, who had thrown almost exactly as many passes from ahead as he has from behind. We've run 76 offensive plays up by 9 points or more. He's thrown the ball just 15.8% of the plays we've been up by that much. You just don't find other QBs with such a low %. We've run 688 total offensive plays... 612 have been with us trailing or tied or up by only one score. 296 of those plays have been passes. ( now I realize that there are also designed passing plays that are not reflected in those passes such as sacks and scrambles, but that's a lot more work than I'm willing to do at this moment ) When "it's a game," there's clearly a plan to throw the ball as Taylor actually throws the ball 48.4% of the time. Designed passes will be well above 50% and maybe close to 60% when you find all the sacks and scrambles that happened in those 612 plays when we were trailing, tied, or up by one score. When the Bills have a solid lead, he only throws it 15.8% of the friggin time! I understand that there are probably going to be some who point to how little faith our OC and HC have and Taylor and that this reflects that, but it really doesn't make much sense for a team as ineffective in the running game as we are (we had 16/26 runs by RBs against KC for gains of one yard or less) when you have a QB who will obviously protect the football and not turn it over. We are very likely going to have a new QB under center next season. I don't know why anyone would have any confidence in our OC (and even HC?) in terms of our approach to the games and how effective our QB would be.

  18. https://twitter.com/NFLResearch/status/934857339433189376 Bills WR Zay Jones has 2 TD in his last 3 games, and Tyrod Taylor has a 126.4 passer rating when targeting Jones in that span For context, Jones didn’t score a single TD in his first 7 games, and Taylor had a 28.8 passer rating when targeting Jones over that span
  19. Twitter is full of absolute stupidity and stupid people who can't decipher fact from fiction. It's also full of stupid trolls. Sure, there's some good there. But too often looking on twitter makes me realize just how stupid people actually are. I should rephrase I suppose... twitter's not completely stupid because I'll go there and look at stuff, but I'm not a member. I never go on facebook. I never go on Instagram.
  20. jmc12290 would love that... even when we get worse So ridiculously predictable it's sickening. You look at the formation and know what play is going to be run half the time! And so does the defense! Why can't we luck out with a young brilliant OC for once? Do we even have any of those potential guys on staff if we were to fire Dennison right now?
  21. Truthfully whatever site you posted in the OP is blocked on my server here so I can't even read whatever stupid stuff people are saying. I've never posted a tweet in my life. I think social media is stupid. And as Happydays pointed out, if there are people roasting Tyrod, I bet most of them are Bills fans. I'm sure you're one of the proud ones who tweeted him and just had to post this thread as a source of pride. On a sidenote, what's the next username you have stored in your vault once this one gets banned? You're already on your 3rd in 9 months. Think you'll get to 5 in a year?
  22. You lost your own bet. You aren't allowed to speak ill of Tyrod until next Sunday... remember? Just shameful
  23. Wow... some seriously shaky language in here, Thurm I see you're still arguing just to argue, Thurm And are we really comparing our team with a generational team with multiple HOFers and an unbelievable OL? That's the equivalent of people who compare Tyrod with Brady.
  24. I don't know. I must be sorely mistaken. Forgive me
  25. Really has nothing to do with Taylor... please refer to above comments about predictable playcalling in reference to handoffs to RBs You're happy with Dennison?
