  1. Absolutely NO ONE is saying ANY of the things you said in those 2 paragraphs. This is just one of the dumbest posts I've ever read... so congratulations!!! You've unseated a post by.... well... probably you. I was fine letting this post die and was going to let the issue rest, but man... I just had to respond to the sheer stupidity of these 2 paragraphs. I couldn't even read beyond them.
  2. If you've suffered through the 17 years of misery… I think it's at least good for ending that flirtIf you've suffered through the 17 years of misery… I think it's at least good for alleviating that They also drafted him at 11. The best QB of the 2004 draft was the third QB drafted and drafted at 11. As always, it's not about why new draft but who are you draft. We have the capital to trade up to 11 or 10 if we see the QB that we want, no matter where in the first round we are sitting
  3. Well... twitter is an interesting place. "You can't compare him to Russell Wilson or even Tyrod Taylor because he's not as explosive or as dynamic." - NFC scout Scouting Baker Mayfield: on.nfl.com/hjh2ie (via @BuckyBrooks) literally never watched him. Whoever we get better be better than what we have.
  4. Watch out now... even implying McDermott could be fired might be construed as a ridiculous premature take
  5. troll troll trollin away. I'm really disappointed... thought you were better than that, but I guess I'm learning that stooping low isn't all that new to you. At this point I don't feel need to explain a point that's pretty easily understood if you understand the English language Carry on with your crusade, though
  6. That's a helluva article! Really shows the changing culture McDermott's bringing in. Love it! Wow. What a troll job. I mean, I guess I'll defend my honor a little since you're so bitterly trolling away here, though... I was one of the first people talking about playoffs and how important I thought the coaching shift from Rex to McDermott was... way back before the season even started. I've been one of the few since the offseason saying that I thought coaching trumped talent and that if McDermott could come in and change the culture (which I said multiple times felt a lot like Bill Bellicheck's approach) that this team could see a much quicker turnaround than people predicted and even make a run at the playoffs this year. I haven't changed that stance, despite your apparent belief that a single criticism of (what might be) McDermott's approach long term means that I think he should be fired now. That's not what I said in that thread you just linked and certainly not what I meant. Troll away, though
  7. Yes, seriously, you were wrong with your 3rd down numbers. Thurm, I'm going to take you on a little journey of the conversation you and I had that led you to this careless mistake: First, there was this post, which was built within a larger post, but this was the ONLY part of the post you responded to: Then, you replied with this. Clearly you were referring to the Footballoutsiders ranking in that had him ranked 29th in ALEX as of November 17th and also provides you with a chart giving you 3rd and short, 3rd and medium, and 3rd and long rankings. And by the way, you didn't even cite your yardage correctly considering it says directly in the article: "Like in past years, I have provided a "heat map" to show how the quarterbacks stack up in the different third-down splits: short (1 or 2 yards to go), medium (3 to 6 yards) and long (7-plus yards)." Plus... ALL OF THIS IS FROM WEEK 10. Sheesh... you criticize me for reading the article, which I admit I didn't other than the bits about ALEX and Tyrod Taylor. Did you read it? This was my post responding to your statement that those were his 3rd down conversion rankings by range: And by the way, Taylor is currently tied for 24th in ALEX. He's not 29th. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/qb Thank you for playing So McCoy looks like he's slowed down to you?
  8. I realize this has turned into a TT discussion, but truthfully this my biggest issue is with what's happened particularly to our running game because of Denison. Shady is having The worst year of his NFL career because it obvious where and when he's running on almost any play that he runs. Now, is the TT discussion connected to that ineffective running game? Absolutely. This team is constantly in third and 8 and 3rd and 9 and third and 10 situations because of runs that are stuffed on first and/or second down. But we have one of the best running back's in the NFL and he's gaining less than 4 yards per carry. That's just pathetic when you consider what he averaged the last couple years. As for Taylor in Kansas City, I'm not complaining about it and don't really feel the need to defend his play there because it was a pretty good game by him.
  9. BWAHAHAHAH!!! LOVE IT!
  10. Running game or running back? Which one? Shady's having the worst year of his career despite not appearing to lose a step. As you see this year... the OL kinda matters in the running game... and ours sucks. Stafford & Eli would get killed with our line.
  11. Hypocrite, eh? You say I'm full of hot air despite at least bringing in new perspective and evidence into what might be a stale discussion to some while you come into just every conversation to say... well... not much at all. But I'm the hypocrite? To those, like you, who are sick of those conversations, stay out. Yet, right now you're saying you won't stay out. Why is that? Are you some kind of self-appointed watchdog? The TBD Gestapo? Relax old-timer. Think it'll work against Tom Brady on Sunday if we manage to go ahead by a couple scores?
  12. you mad, bro? Funny, I've been out in the open that I talk about Taylor a lot. I enjoy the discussion. I don't think I've ever once uttered the phrase "beating a dead horse" on this board or over at BBMB like Shady and you do regarding any discussion I'm actively participating in. Don't like the discussion. Stay out of it. Think a discussion is old and tired and worn. Stay out of it.
  13. You really do talk about Taylor A LOT... I already glanced at your posting history. At this point, I bet you have double the posts around the subject of Tyrod Taylor than I do total posts over the span of the just the 9 months that the two of us have been members here. The thing is, I really don't care... it's a message board... people can talk about whatever the hell they want to... just go to the threads you want to have a conversation in. You're just ALWAYS in the Taylor threads. And one of your go-to arguments is "why are we talking about this again? We're beating a dead horse." Just pretty funny hypocrisy is all.
  14. But you like to talk about Taylor so much since you pretty much live in every Taylor thread out there... refresh my memory, please?
  15. Shady, for a guy who argues that we're beating dead horses with Taylor... I think you post about him waaaAAAAAaaaaayyyy more than anyone else. You're also like a child: "Fare Thee Well Tyrod Taylor" ... ? (What happens if he's back next year? Hmmmm?) Seriously, you're sounding like a kid pointing fingers on the playground at this point. You have chores to do this weekend? Maybe take a break from posting about Taylor, who you must secretly admire, and start those chores now. He'll be there to dissect after the game for you on Sunday. It's okay, I'm sure you've had enough dopamine rushes to your head getting your post count up to last you through your chores
  16. Clearly that's a rhetorical question, so please, tell me why? Pretty much... now they can't seem to do anything better than below average
  17. Well I dunno, but it doesn't help that 4 out of 12 of our drives ended because of a called run. 3 of those were stuffed for 2 yards or less. The other was a 4 yard gain... on 3rd and 6
  18. And yet you continue to beat that horse with everyone else It was. But it was an outlier.
  19. Not a clue where you're getting your information from, but the only one you got right is that he's 10th when they're 1 or 2 yards. He's 8th from 3-7 yards. http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/leaders.asp?range=NFL&rank=048&type=Passing&year=2017 He's 15th when 8+ yards. http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/leaders.asp?range=NFL&rank=047&type=Passing&year=2017
  20. Yes... it was absolutely a big problem against the Saints. But overall it hasn't been a "problem" this year because he's successfully converting 3rd downs. Yet, people point to that Saints game as though it's an overall representation of what Taylor does on 3rd and 4th down, which is just ridiculous.
  21. Well it could be because Taylor has been asked to convert more 3rd and 8+ yard plays (57) than any other QB in the NFL save Phillip Rivers (62). Somehow he's still having his best year thus far in terms of 3rd down conversion percentage and is currently 12th in the NFL. The frustration from the Saints game is understandable and something I felt a lot, too, but considering Taylor has been well above average converting 3rd downs as a whole and above average in converting those 3rd and long plays, despite facing the 2nd most in the NFL. It's funny because people throw out the argument that using certain stats is cherry picking and then do things like Shady earlier in this thread and point to 2 overthrows to Zay Jones (it was actually 1) as some kind of proof of his inefficiency. Talk about hypocrisy
  22. Oh yeah... forgot about that one... that was on 3rd down... so of course Taylor gets the blame for the punt, right? Wow... you're kinda like a petulant child with this, Shady. You mad? That absolutely was NOT a poor throw by Taylor. Toe tapping is routine for NFL WRs and that particular toe tap was one Jones had plenty of time and space to complete. Would have been a 3rd down conversion but wasn't because Jones didn't do something most NFL WRs practice consistently.
  23. The bomb to Jones in the EZ that hit him in his left hand was overthrown and is a throw you're trying to use to point out how inadequate Taylor was? Wow. Just wow At least pick a throw we can all agree on like the O'Leary completion that gave him no opportunity for YAC. As for cherry picking what now must just be a single pass to Jones on your mind: Here's something tweeted the other day by @NFLResearch: Bills WR Zay Jones has 2 TD in his last 3 games, and Tyrod Taylor has a 126.4 passer rating when targeting Jones in that spanFor context, Jones didn’t score a single TD in his first 7 games, and Taylor had a 28.8 passer rating when targeting Jones over that span
  24. How about some handoffs from shotgun? We go under center and we are almost certainly going to hand the ball off and get stuffed... I-formation and you can practically bet your house on it. And before anyone says "only with Taylor" - Peterman ran 25 plays 13 were in the shotgun and ALL were passing plays. 12 were under center and 8 were handoffs. 5 were stuffed for 2 yards or less. Very true What question do you want me to answer? You're sniffing for something that's pretty obvious. Peterman was not ready. We've heard rumblings and rumors over the last month or so that she needed to take a lot more strides and didn't look great in practice. We've also heard the rumblings in the rumors that Denison was the main push her to get Peter men on the field because he could execute his offense. If the latter part is true, I'm not that all worried and about McDermott. Why do I know it was a mistake based on practice? I don't... 100%. Obviously I don't sit in practice. Do you? Let's just call it a very educated guess, partially based on what we saw in the Chargers game
