Crap... head coach bump... 3 losses in a row.

Postseason is ALL that matters

You misunderstood the thread. It wasn't "just make the postseason." It was "look at our division, our young team and our young Coordinators Coordinators... the games truly start mattering in the postseason, which we will be in." -

The NFL season and postseason is generally a struggle all the way with the Elite QBs making up for it with just a handful of plays -

Count me in on this bet please. I got a traffic ticket the other day for $97. How about we make it an even $100 so I can also get a coffee? -

The difference is that in terms of coaching we have 2 very young Coordinators trying to figure things out week by week. After a few hours of mulling on this loss I actually think this game shows some growth in McDermott. I understand the criticism for today, but that 4th and 5 call for the TD was ballsy... and the call to actually go for it was obviously Sean's decision even if he's hands off on the play call. And also... in retrospect that ending was awful, but in his Press Conference McDermott basically said he wants the ball in Josh's hands. You guys remember what happened in KC with 13 seconds left on the clock? What if Josh hit one of those down the field throws the way Mahomes did to Kelce? Do we criticize him? What if we run Cook 3 times in a row and he gets stuffed and Houston still has plenty of time for that FG? Wouldn't we be crucifying him. If anything McDermott overcorrected for last week, but I'd rather see him demonstrate that kind of confidence in Allen than running the ball on 3 straight plays. And as for the play calls themselves, Brady is the play caller and he's still learning. Luckily the Super Bowl is over 4 months away -

How many other NFL Head Coaches in the NFL have managed to not only make the playoffs for 5 straight years, but also to win a playoff game in 4 straight years. -

Who know if we will... and who cares if we will? The Bills can beat those teams on the road at their best or close to it. -

Ya know what though... I don't really know or care if we're one of the better teams in the league right now. I care if we're one of the better teams in the league come playoff time. I hope the injury bug moves to another team. If it does, our current injured players should heal up and be healthy come playoff time and hopefully our Coordinators--Brady in particular--have worked out the kinks. -
This team is very clearly still trying to find itself... both offensively and defensively... and don't you think our D kinda did today??? Other than the Collins TD they were pretty excellent! Now we need to see some of that switch flipping on the other side of the ball. But that need for growth and learning was exposed for our defense in the 1st half against the Cardinals and last week against the Ravens. It was exposed for our offense in the 1st half against the Cardinals and for most of the last couple weeks. Throw in a half dozen or so impact players missing time over the first 5 games and you have a recipe for a team that looks bad and has a losing record. But guess what... we have a winning record; the only team in the AFC East able to say that. And we will be getting those impact players back over the next several weeks. And our Coordinators are young and learning. And Josh Allen. Anyone watch the Jets, Patriots or Dolphins lately? Those are bad football teams. I'd love the #1 seed and to have the best record in the NFL... but really it's mainly because I spend an unhealthy amount of time listening to sports media podcasts. That said, the simple reality is that this is a football team still finding its footing at 3-2 and they're doing it while being in probably the worst division in the NFL and still have the 2nd best player in the NFL. Get in the playoffs at 15-2... Get in the playoffs at 9-8... You have Josh Allen. Year 6 into this run for us Bills fans and we really need to try to just enjoy the ride of the regular season hoping that losses bring learning experiences. Priority #1 after the last 2 weeks: please keep your QB clean. We've had 2 "oh ***** our season's over!!!" moments in the last 2 weeks. Get Josh Allen to the postseason healthy. It's a brand new season when everything resets anyways.

Josh Allen is making $60m this season
transplantbillsfan replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This seems like it turned into a CAP argument. The point was really that Allen is actually getting paid like the best QB in the NFL with #1 money. I could be wrong and Dak and possibly Mahomes could be making that at the moment... but it's a heckuva lot better than the 13th or 14th best QB in the league. Next season, according to Ginnitti, Allen will only make $14.5 million. Now... that's not necessarily his CAP hit, just how much Allen will actually make next year. I just do not think Beane will allow Allen to only make $14.5 million next year. -

I know he's a rookie but maybe Bishop for Rapp is an upgrade -

Sorry if posted... I didn't see it. I came upon this buffalo rumblings article today: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2024/10/3/24261159/buffalo-bills-josh-allen-quietly-renegotiated-his-contract-this-offseason Read it, but it cites this tweet by Mike Ginniti So basically... that restructure was in large part a way to give Allen fair compensation. Looking at those upcoming salaries, you can bet he's getting a new deal entirely in the offseason.

This game actually terrifies me with Mixon and Dell coming back. Mixon runs like Henry. He's not Henry... but same style runner. -
This game was honestly my fault. I broke complete normal tradition of where I watch and who I watch it with because my brother-in-law said he wanted to hang out and watch a game. So and his wife (my wife's sister) invited us over to hang out and watch the game. They cooked. It was more of a social event. And even going in to watch this with them, I resigned myself to a loss since I was doing something completely different. I just kept telling myself that 3-1 is still good... but how come I feel so depressed today

Week 4 - Bills at Ravens Game Week Thread
transplantbillsfan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
None of us are in the room, but I think Allen and Diggs really do have a brotherly relationship. And I think they both understand how much each of them were good for each other's careers. It's just obvious they had to move on to the next chapter. I could be wrong, but I'd bet Allen understands the hyper-competitive nature of Diggs and realizes in large part that's what made him such a great WR for the NFL and for the Bills. Remember... those 2 guys spent a lot of time together for 4 years. The Bengals blowup notwithstanding, I don't think their relationship was as volatile as it was made out to be in the media. -
