  1. umm, because in the current defense there's no need to do that.
  2. Milano is one of the best linebackers in the league. He'll be here through at least one more 4-5 year deal. Hell, he could probably play Edmunds spot if needed.
  3. When your parents are just about billionaires, I think they'll do just fine. Two Christmases and birthdays and each one trying desperately to buy their affection? I'll be their kid.
  4. Definitely another year of stat padding. If your wife doesn't support your dreams, then she isn't worth keeping around. He'll have millions of others to choose from.
  5. That's why boarding school was created. Just raise them like British royalty.
  6. If Peyton Manning's body hadn't failed him, he'd still be playing and winning Super Bowls.
  7. If your wife leaves you because she wants you to quit your job as the greatest in history to do what you do, good riddance. Family is overrated.
  8. Milano has out performed Edmunds every year and it isn't close. The data actually shows Edmunds has been a very poor coverage linebacker for most of his career, especially the last 2 seasons where QBs and receivers ate him alive while Milano thrived right next to him.
  9. It's an indisputable fact that completely disproves your statement that he isn't one of the highest paid ILBs in the league. The "why" isn't relevant to the "what" in this case. It's not possible to have a better argument. As for who my alternative is, I would have preferred that we bring in Wagner and ship off Edmunds, butt hat didn't happen. My Edmunds replacement likely comes in the draft unless Beane swings a trade for a top-end LB like Leonard, Warner or Smith.
  10. Oh so it's the scheme's fault that he can't shed blocks, make impact tackles, or read plays? I didn't realize until now those were things that stopped in the 1980s. He processes the game too slowly, has bad judgment, doesn't shed blocks and is a soft tackler. None of those things should be highly controversial after watching him do them for 4+ seasons and all of them are bad traits to have in player youw ant to build your defense around. All of his best traits are things he was born with: size, speed, length. he has the #1 base salary in the league for an ILB, commands the 4th most cap and makes the 6th most total money overall.
  11. I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make here. People are raving about the 4 best games of Edmunds career and he still isn't even the best LB on his own team. He's finally performing adequate, but he's now compensated to be performing like a superstar. Like I said, if he has that in him I'll be happy to see him reach it playing for the New York Bills, Raiders, Dolphins or whatever other team is going to blow top dollar on athleticism and potential. If I'm paying a MLB top 5 money, I want them to dominate games. I don't think that's a ridiculous ask.
  12. So doing what a MLB in a Cover 2 should be doing? Cool. Look, if he was a rookie/2nd year player doing this and didn't have a lengthy body of work as a liability, maybe I'd be excited. However, he's one of the highest paid linebackers in the league and still isn't playing up to the level we need him to be. I'll be thrilled to watch him go chase his potential elsewhere.
  13. Does that give you a better view of Edmunds taking bad first steps and getting caught in the trash?
  14. 4 games ago would have been a nice time for cook to start playing well. 4 games from now will also be a nice time for him to start playing well. Really though, I'm not banking on my 3rd string running back to be the make or break piece of my offense. It would have been great if he had stolen the starting job out of camp as a dynamic weapon, but barring that he'll likely be a 2-3 touch per game player until next year when ideally he takes over half (or more) of singletary's job
  15. Already done. I think it might be more useful to look at game "clinched" vs "squandered" though, because as mentioned before you have some games that end on things like defensive touchdowns or broken play runs where they were really 1 score games until the last minute, and then back door covers where they were really multi-score games with no chance of being won.
  16. Positives __________ The Detroit Lions leading the league in yards and points with the #1 Offense Jalen Hurts The Jaguars Tua The Giants and the resurgence of Saquon Cooper Rush led Cowboys The NFC East looking a lot stronger than expected Negatives: ____________ The Detroit Lions leading the league in yards and points surrendered with the dead-last #32 defense The Broncos pitiful offense Christian McCaffery looking human The AFC West looking a lot weaker than expected
  17. He's a fine back with good elusiveness, vision and balance that can catch. He doesn't have top end speed and he's not a bruiser. He should get Moss' carries, but that's about it. Singletary is the kind of back you don't want as a true #1, but can be a serviceable part of a committee. He'll make far too much money for that role though, so I won't mind seeing him go while we try to upgrade. Wouldn't be shocked to see the Patriots go after him.
  18. That's true if they overperform their entry level contract, you need cheaper depth than vet minimum, or if they're a quarterback. Otherwise it's no better than free agency. Edmunds has not come close to overperforming his contract. Even though he's having his best year as a pro, he's still not outperforming the money he's making this year as the 4th highest cap hit, #1 base salary and 6th highest overall paid ILB in the league.
  19. In a league where the average career for a non-QB is 3.3 years, I don't think it's acceptable to wait until a player's 5th season for them to not be a liability. That's not a lack of patience, it's a lack of production. Given that entry contracts are 4 years, you'd be better off just getting a guy who has proven he has what it takes in free agency than wasting a 1st round pick on him and then having to spend the same money to re-sign him anyway.
  20. That ankle tackle of Jackson was maybe my favorite defensive play of the year so far. I'm absolutely smitten with the way the kid plays football. He's already one of my favorite Bills of all-time.
  21. Well it is/was absolutely a trend. That can't really be debated because the wins and losses are what they are and there was a pattern. It was every much a trend as the winning streak the year prior was. Is it meaningful or indicative of success? maybe, maybe not. There's been some analysis done on single score wins, but it doesn't seem to indicate much over short periods of time because there are many other factors that need to be taken into account. McD is sitting on a 19-21 record right now, which i think is fairly average, but I'm not certain.
  22. You should check into concussion protocol.
  23. Dude. Please read this very, very slowly. The Bills lost 7 regular season one-score games in a row going back to November 15th, 2020. which is 23 months or roughly 2 years. Including playoff games the Bills lost 7 one-score games in a row starting the first game of the following season on September 15th 2021 Do with it what you wish.
