Someone needs to be fired over Mahomes right now.
BullBuchanan replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Chiefs Offense looks every bit the equal of the 99 Rams. I agree that we should've taken a QB that year, but the smart money was Watson there. Mahommes would have been a bust here - he wouldn't have had the veteran QB leadership, Hall of Fame coach, Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce, OLine, etc. that he has in KC. Mahommes has looked excellent so far, but Hill, Hunt, and Kelce were wrecking people with Alex Smith at the helm. Hill/Hunt made Mahommes look better than he played today It is ok. Might want to bone up on the history of that country you pretend to care about so much. -
Is Josh Allen just a taller Tyrod Taylor
BullBuchanan replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As one of the biggest Allen detractors in the world, I think the kid is doing a nice job. He's managing the game which is something he never did in college as far as I saw. I like to believe he's learning what the NFL is like right now and not trying to make too many mistakes and one or two years from now he'll hopefully start getting more aggressive. His flaws are still very much a concern to me for his long term success, but he isn't giving games away like I thought he might. -
Tre White is the Best Player On the Bills Now

Brandon Browner was a trash corner his whole career. Probably why he flamed out of the league. Big != good. Logan Ryan and Malcom Butler are also really poor examples of star corners. They're solid players, but they aren't HOFers, and Revis was doing his swan song in NE. He wasn't half the player he was with NY. Stephon Gilmore was benched and he's probably getting cut after the season. Playing for the Yankees might make you a star, but it doesn't mean you're great. I'm always happy to fact check for you. -

You can get good corners for 4-5 million per year. If you pay $20 million to one corner, now you have trash at the other 3 spots and any QB worth his salt will just ignore the one threat out of 5 that you shut down. Good luck with that. -

Who was Philly's star corner on their super bowl team? New England? Green Bay? Having a shutdown corner is like having an elite defensive tackle. They're neat and all, but they won't win you a championship unless you have an otherwise all time great defense. -

If he wants $20 million you trade him before the draft after year 4. I'd rather have 4 good corners than 1 elite one. Or I'd rather have an elite safety. -
Respectfully disagree with the OP. This may be the strongest version of the NFL during my lifetime. Currently, the Bills are the only terrible team that doesn't have any real hope. The Cardinals are a mess too, but they have the talent to right the ship. Unlike most years where there are obvious bottom feeders with no hope and a bunch of known bad QBs, every starting QB in the league is either a vet with a good past history, a young player looking to be a star, a highly touted rookie, or a future Hall of Famer. There are no Aj Feeley's, Matt Cassell's, or Brock Osweiler's littering the league. The closest you've got is Blake Bortles that just dropped 377 and 4TDs on the Patriots, while Ryan Fitzpatrick passes Joe Namath on the all time yards list while reading Rich Gannon's memoirs.

I don't think the Pegulas signed off on this
BullBuchanan replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We aren't. The bills have "sucked" in about 4 seasons or so in the last 35. The rest of the time they've been mediocre, which might suck compared to the pats, but going 6-10 through 9-7 isn't terrible. It's why we consistently draft 8-15. -
Short memory.

This team isn't "winning games" regardless of the QB, so i wouldn't bother. Embrace the tank that the GM put in place and work on a sound development strategy for the younger guys and a create a great offseason plan to ensure we can competitive as soon as possible. If Allen flops this year, I hope they have the stones to pull a Brandon Weeden and grab a a marquee QB if one is available. Until you figure that out nothing matters.

I get the complaints, but in their defense, they have a 4 hour show that runs five days a week plus a postgame. Is there really 20 hours of Bills talk that can and needs to happen on a week to week basis? Keep in mind, both of these guys have spent their entire careers covering a team that never even made the playoffs. Now that we finally made it, the team looks worse than it has at any point since the drought, so it's easy to fall right back into drought-talk. Would it be more interesting if they had dynamic stores like "Embedded" and "Beyond Blue and Gold"? Of course, but that's not what that is. Frankly, I think it's nice to break up the same old discussions with some unrelated talk to keep the Bills stuff fresh, but I can understand if you only listen to it in the car on the way home, and you don't get what you were expecting. -

13-25 168 yards 1TD 1 Int 5 sacks -
Alex Smith and Jake Plummer are two that immediately come to mind. Had their teams not ruined them early, they would have had far more successful careers. David Carr was also a ruined QB that didn't make it out the other side. I think he would've been a good one. I don't know how many rookie QBs could survive getting sacked 76 times, but he did. Unfortunately there's no way that doesn't ruin you.
