  1. Because I'm hoping we keep Brees and trade Rivers.
  2. I know how to judge it, with a scientifically precise tool. You keep using your eyes, and I'll stick to empirical evidence. Also, these are combine numbers, they can and do go up. Brees was clocked in 2010, in the height of his prime.
  3. Brees has a weaker arm than Peterman...http://www.pass2win.com/ball-velocity-exposing-the-power-qb.html Drew Brees has never been known for having a cannon, but he makes up for that with timing, deadly accuracy, and technique. I've been making comparisons to Brees and Peterman for a while based mostly on the way they play and the situation they found themselves in on their rosters. Time will tell if he's able to put it together, but he's a smart kid who doesn't get rattled, and his skill set is shared by many really good QBs. He's got a hell of a mountain to climb, and I'm just hoping he gets that chance.
  4. Like the ones on NFL.com?
  5. He couldn't teach his own son to play.
  6. Wow, thanks. I didn't know that. It's crazy they were both with the Saints. It's wild to think that although they missed guys right under their noses who would become very good NFL QBs, they never would have gotten Brees or won a Super Bowl if they had stuck with them.
  7. What's the point of having one of the PS? They almost never make NFL rosters. The only time it makes sense is when you have an entrenched starter and backup, so the kid can run the scout team without worry of being hurt. I can't recall a single QB in my life that was developed on a practice squad. Can anyone?
  8. Nothing they said is outlandish.
  9. What would we do with our first round picks from the bears? Lb and WR?
  10. He was the last pick of the 4th round. As a QB he's not even supposed to still be in the league. It would be more of a shock if he was decent.
  11. This roster is significantly worse than last season. Our line was destroyed, shady is another year older, Preston Brown is going to be a pretty big loss until the kid learns the ropes, Brady isn't suspended this year, Miami and the Jets improved, probable reduction in turnover differential, no upgrades to wr, Kyle hurt, outside of Marcus Murphy no other player flashed even a little something in preseason, and we have one of the hardest schedules in the league. Those are a few of the reasons I have major reservations about this season. If we win 9 games this year, it means several key pieces stepped up and we're very close to being a very good team. I'm skeptical that happens.
  12. Jonathan Cooper, Navorro Bowman, Kevin Minter, Breshad Perriman Michael Johnson is not that.
  13. Tremaine Edmunds is 20 years old
  14. This roster looks awful, top to bottom. We've got a ton of players on our 53 that I expect would have been on cut lists if this were another team. The part I'm having a tough time with is that most of the players here aren't very young. Most of them have already peaked, or appear unlikely to break out. Usually I talk myself into scenarios like, oh well if this guy can take a little step up and we get a breakout year from one of x.y,z we'll be in good shape. The only guys I see as potential breakout candidates on this roster would be Peterman, Zay Jones, Murphy, and Edmunds, based pretty much on them having extremely limited experience. That's not a great situation to be in. Before pre-season I may have said Milano and Logan Thomas, but not feeling particularly high on either at the moment.
  15. While fielding an historically bad offense. Your response is completely irrelevant to that that point.
  16. Jonathan Cooper
  17. Are we on the hook for his cap?
  18. I find it impossible to believe that Foster is a better player than Coleman at this point. He had to have been a cancer.
  19. I agree with that. Teams would rather gamble on a RB in the top 5 than trade the pick for Adrian Peterson on his prime. It's overwhelmingly rare to get more back for a player that actually proved he was a stud. I've never understood it, because really, what are these teams hoping to land?
  20. Been saying this for years. He knew who belonged in this league and drafted NFL talent. If one of those happened to be a QB, he'd still be here.
  21. I'm pretty sure that's exactly how he fleeced the Bills out of 12 million. Taking a page right out of the Matt Flynn playbook.
