  1. That Ryan Connelly kid to the Giants looks good. Thought we drafted him before we got our guy. I do like a power hitter though.
  2. They just signed a Super Bowl MVP QB and have a top tier defense. If you aren't considering them at minimum better than us on paper, you're making a mistake.
  3. How do we compare against the other strong and rising teams of the AFC? The Patriots, Chiefs, Chargers, Browns, Ravens, Jets, Colts, Broncos, Jags, Steelers What's the script that allows us to run through each of these teams in January?
  4. As one of the resident DK supporters. I like the player, and in hindsight maybe there wasn't a better option. I didn't see any indications before the draft that Metcalf would be at best the 3rd WR off the board and that he'd fall to the 2nd round. My main cause for any greif about the pick prior to it being made is that this team has invested heavily in the defensive side of the ball for a long, long time and it's never manufactured into results. When we had to best D in the league under Jim Schwartz and Kyle, Dareus and Hughes all went for double digit sacks, did we make the playoffs? I've thought for a few years now that in order to have a defense that can carry a team, you really need 11 great players with 3-4 All-Pro level guys. That's a lot to ask of a team, and even then they often fall short. Teams score far too much for any D to stop them all the time under the new rules. I think it makes more sense to have a solid, opportunistic D with unconventional schemes, and then have an explosive offense that can score at will, and who you know will score every single time with 40 seconds left to win the game. To do that you need a great QB, one elite receiver, one great pass-catching RB, and 2 other very good receivers. Your o-line sucks? That's fine. Wilson, Rodgers, and Ben have made due.
  5. I mean, who really cares about that. I'm sure the tune will change as soon as he's drafted, unless it's as a backup to a QB that's going to be around like Rivers or Ben.
  6. At this point, why wouldn't MIA just take Lock? I wouldn't give any more than a 3rd for Rosen now. Arizona completely shot themselves in the foot here. Chip Kelly 2.0
  7. That could be, but from an athletic standpoint, he's probably the best WR prospect since Calvin Johnson. If teams were willing to teach Antonio Gates football from scratch, I have to believe you'd find a way to do what you needed to do to get this kid to destroy everything in his path. Maybe there's a flag on him other than his college production, but I think you have to try. I sure wouldn't fault Beane if a kid like that doesn't pan out. You can't coach what he has.
  8. Isn't that why we signed a truckload of o-line in FA?
  9. San Fran's #1 WR is Marquise Goodwin. I'm thinking they'd like an upgrade there. That goes double for the Jags.
  10. I thought they all played well in spot duty last year. Lewis had some big plays. You can always get serviceable DBs in FA. We need *special* talent ont he offensive side of the ball if we're going to make any sort of leap. We need to stop talking about LeSean McCoy like he's Lesean McCoy and Frank Gore may as well be John Doe at this point in his career. Unless we have legitimate game breaking threats, we really don't stand a chance against teams that can score at will.
  11. EJ Gaines is there until he gets hurt and we have Kevin Johnson, Taron Johnson, Ryan Lewis, Levi Wallace. A ton of young CBs already on the roster. One will step up. We're far from fine at WR. We have 2 career journeymen, one former UDFA that had flashes, and a former 2nd round pick that appears on his way out. There's not a dominant presence among them. Barely.
  12. It's a pass-happy league and we can't pass. go get the WR.
  13. The fact the DK has fallen this far is insane. He have to move up to get him. I don't see how the pats took the guy they did.
  14. Cool. So 2... The other 20 in that timeframe weren't. The Steelers started Jonathan Scott of Buffalo Bills legend for their 2010 SB appearance.
  15. I hate this idea. Picking a DT that high is a lose-lose from my perspective. If he becomes the next Aaron Donald, you can't afford to keep him, and if he doesn't, he's not worthy of the selection. Now that elite DT's are getting HOF QB money, there needs to be a massive market correction before they're worth investing in again form my point of view. They effectively cost as much as 2 equally elite players at most other positions, and there's not a great reason for it.
  16. How many All Pro LT's have Super Bowl rings? Joe Thomas never even made the playoffs.
  17. any trade up with our first pick will be extremely upsetting with so many holes to fill. If they can trade back and get a second and then use that to get a 2nd first or earlier second, I'd be ok with that that though.
  18. The only player I want is Metcalf. Any other pick will be a disappointment.
  19. I'd rather have Trent Richardson.
  20. I'm the guy who thought Peterman would be the starter, and he was. Need any more reminders of times I was right and you were wrong? Spoiler: it's this conversation. Allen could very well get better, but as of today, yes - it's ridiculous to put Allen in the same class as Mayfield. They're both the same players they were going into the draft as of right now, and that's a positive for Mayfield and a knock for Allen. I hope to hell he gets better, because he's the guy we got.
  21. I'd go Haynesworth or Suh way before Sapp.
  22. Gotta find room in that backfield for Travis Henry and Michael Vick
