  1. He said they don't need to be. There are countless players in the hall without rings. I don't think anyone would deny it's the biggest benefit.
  2. I don't like him as a person, but cutting him is strictly a football move. He's in decline and doesnt justify his cap space. His contract was designed for the bills to cut him this year, and I fully expect them to.
  3. I could write it in crayon if that helps. Just because I list players that had hall of fame statistic trajectories before injuries took their toll doesn't mean I think they are the same caliber of player as Allen. They aren't. You can compare similar situations without all things being equal. If Matt Stafford plays another 4 years at the same level he'll beat out Rivers and likely go to the Hall as well.
  4. I cut Ford, Felicano and WIlliams - saves like $9M IIRC. Cut Beasley to save another $7m If you can find a cheaper replacement for Morse, I look at that. Moss is also a goner In the draft give me big men (OG/DT) and defensive players with big play ability. We should be able to replace our expensive rotational players with players on rookie deals to save money for superstars Bring in a vet for the slot, let Hodgins and first year players battle it out for the 4-6 WR spots. Bring in a reliable #2 TE If McKenzie can be had cheap, you can sign him if you want. Then I spend all the leftover money finding guys on the defense that can get to the QB. There's about 4 rental/2 year level guys out there. Go get one or two. If the FO feels they can swing a trade for an elite pass rusher - go do it, but I don't know who is getable that would be worth it. I make a run at Larry Ogunjobi, resign Phillips to a bridge deal, upgrade #2 CB, put more weight on Epenesa and take some off Basham.
  5. Alright. I'll explain it to you like you're a child. The message here is that injuries can derail careers. Bulger wasn't an all-time elite guy, but his career was derailed by injury before it ever really got going. He had 4 great years of production and after that he was done. If he played 15 at his pace, he would have finished with top 10 numbers. Luck could have been one of the all-time greats but injuries robbed him of that, and Tony Romo while not in that upper most echelon of guys, was easily a match for some guys that are in or will be in the hall like Esiason and Eli. Allen has a long road in front of him, and if he stays healthy, he'll get there, but he has two years of great production under his belt. It takes a lot more than that to get into the Hall.
  6. No, I sure didn't. Take a breath and re-read the post with context.
  7. Should he have taken targets away from Davis?
  8. Does Andrew Luck? Tony Romo? Marc Bulger? ***** happens.
  9. He definitely didn't. They went blow for blow and the former MVP, SB Champion, SB MVP and 1rst Team all-pro came out on top.
  10. The Chiefs D line is far better than ours and it's not close. We don't have a Chris Jones or a Frank Clark. That should be obvious.
  11. This collection of takes is awful and wrong at nearly every level.
  12. Im hoping that somehow Cinci can beat KC so we don't hear about this game ever again. That's not going to happen though, so it'll be at least 30 years.
  13. So give McD 20 years to get one just like Reid. Then we'll talk.
  14. It's absolutely not. As long as the team keeps making the playoffs and he doesn't commit any egregious behavior, you keep McD forever regardless of SB wins. That's what winning teams do.
  15. Andy Reid has an 18 year head start. How many Super Bowls did Andy Reid win with McNabb? Smith?
  16. Objectively wrong. Kupp has outproduced beasleys entire 10 year career in 5 years Not counting this season since Kupp came into the league in 2017 which includes Beasley's best year and omits kupp's
  17. Because that's exactly what Beasley is - he's just a guy and always has been. On top of that he's extremely expensive on a cash strapped team (we save over $7M by cutting him), and he's old. He's the definition of a cap-casualty Also, Kupp in his worst season was better than Beasley's best.
  18. I'm literally in tears. 😂
  19. This is a great thread because it gets all the posters with the worst possible takes in one spot. Based on what he's done so far, McD is the coach here until he doesn't want to be anymore.
  20. You're wrong. The path to the SB wasn't any easier this year than it's ever been. It goes through KC regardless. If we win 8 games next year and sneak in the playoffs as the #7 seed, it's just as easy or hard as it was this year.
  21. Cooper Kupp is an MVP candidate and is having one of the best WR seasons in NFL history. Beasley is the trailer park version of: "We have Cooper Kupp at home". The only thing they share in common is that they're white blond dudes. They'll draft someone to compete with Hodgins. Maybe a cheap FA like Crowder.
  22. What? Stop it. Beasley just played his last game as a Bill.
  23. Good teams lose good players. He's exactly the kind of player you let walk. If we want to keep Davis, he'll need a new deal at some point int the next 12 months. With a player like Allen, we'll be looking to get new playmakers on the cheap via the draft or via discount in FA
  24. I can't believe Danny Amendola is still in the league.
