I just find it hilarious that we could not field 3 QB's going into week 1 and only brought in Peterman and Allen Now we sit here with 4 with: Allen Peterman Anderson Barkley Just unreal. I can't remember a year that any NFL team has started 4 different QB's at the mid point of the year. I need to ping this youtube creator to do a part deux or continuation on to this circus QB show in Buffalo.

Fitz signed his 3.3mill dollar contract a day after we traded TT. If Beane reached out to Fitz as the likely day1 starter or competition for it he would have come back. Whatever with Stanton, I threw the list out there as available QB's with actual NFL experience. Anyone on that list here over Peterman day1 would have been better IMO.

Notable Offensive Moves by McDermott
Real McClappy replied to jrober38's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kromer might had said screw it anyways after Woods retired, Glenn traded and then Iggy retiring as idiot Beane felt the need to make the probowl lineman take a pay cut. I'm happy for Kromer though. Linking up with McVay is awesome for him and has helped the line out alot, Gurley looks amazing now behing their Oline. -
Notable Offensive Moves by McDermott

Bolded has been skipped over by several fans but very important, both should have stayed. Should be on the list. Tolbert was a joke Not having a real QB coach to help develop a rookie QB is a criminal offense. Bolded is a problem from ownership side. No unproven rookie HC should ever have this kind of power. I get someone proven like BB or Reid having that influence but not a damn Rookie HC. I still don't understand the ownership FO circle jerk philosophy? -
There were no real QB's other than Cousins and maybe Foles. McCown could have been a very nice Bridge QB. There were others though to bridge the year with actual game starting experience. Now these are not world beaters by any means but key word is bridge, someone with actual NFL experience here from Day1. Henne Moore Fitz Glennon Anderson Stanton Bridgewater

Agree Allen week 1 was the starting QB the entire 2nd half of the game against Baltimore. I'm not sure the 1st half against the Ravens behind one of our worst O-line performances this entire year would have propelled Allen's development in any way? I also don't agree with handing a extremely raw rookie QB the starting position with zero competition. We should of had a vet QB here from day1. Even if crappy Anderson was playing day1 here it would have made the coaching staff look somewhat competent. Rolling with basically 2 rookie QB's only on the roster was a recipe for disaster, especially with our inept Oline and current WR core. All we can do now if hope for a full Allen elbow recovery and let him start the rest of the year to learn some skills needed on the NFL level.

Bolded 1. 100% your made up speculation 2. Did they really? If Pegulas did "learn their lesson" Why did they preach continuity and then proceed to fire Whaley right after the draft? Pegulas already knew Doug's fate at that time, if they did not we should be worried all the more. So knowing they are going to S&^t can Doug after the draft how much input from Doug do you really think they took in as value added on the HC hire? You could be right though but it doesn't add up in my mind. As far as Hue and Rex go. Must of us knew Rex was a clown show fraud before coming here. A very large majority of fans and posters supported Hue's being our next HC. Hue's first shot as a HC was also a clown show no doubt, but was never seen before like Rex with the NYJ. Also, the Bills and Browns rosters in 2014-2016 were bipolar opposites talent wise. We still don't 100% know what went down between McD, Pegula and Whaley. If I had to imagine McD's and Whaley's vision were 100 opposite on how to build the team. All we do know for Whaley's 3rd coaching staff we went all D happy in an offensive league. I have a feeling this is where Doug finally stepped up to ownership and McD before the draft and said something? It didn't match McD's plan and Pegula had such a woody for him they parted ways. Knowing how much Whaley wanted Watson it's clear as day he had zero control of the 2016 draft and his tenure was over.

Love how people keep downplaying a senior VP job. Whaley will prob make more money this year alone than most make 20 years straight working on this site. I was talking post Rex. I thought Pegulas would have learned to let a GM you know be a GM. We already know how that turned out and they don't. They let a rookie HC hire a rookie GM. Trust me, I pulling harder for these 2 to work out as well but you still gotta scratch your head. So to your Browns point. Hue would have been the HC that most likely brought a DC in that fit our current strengths no? I cannot even speculate how the QB position would have unfolded. So what tenure would have been better Hue or Rex? I still say Hue but that would have to be another thread.

Yes it is very fair to say that. Whaley had to be torn inside like no other having to waste more draft capital on D when it was already set just fine before his arrival as you stated. Offensively the weapons were still there minus a true QB. Greg Roman actually did a real fine job with this Offense handcuffed at the QB position. Anthony Lynn learned a ton from Roman and it carried over. The only thing that was done right under Rex was Hiring Greg Roman, everything else was a complete disaster. I often think of how this team would look If Pegulas gave Whaley full control of our HC hire instead of hand picking McD by themselves. I can almost guarantee Watson would be here, Watkins and Richie (we never would have low balled him). Past is the past. All I can do now is hope that Allen turns out right and the FO knows what the hell they are doing next FA and draft. I'm happy for Doug. I do

Happy for Whaley and wish him luck. This Bills F'd this guy over pretty bad once our rookie owners took over. He had a pretty damn good team built overall. Was a HC and QB away of his choice from really great things here. Nix and ownership was 100% determined on a QB his last draft. Nothing was going to change that even if Whaley wanted it to. Our owners flat out hired Rex. Nothing was going to change that even if Whaley wanted it to. Should he of had a baby tantrum to Terry and Kim? When the owner of a company makes a change you either follow or GTFO correct?

You must ask Toto No doubt

Well it could be worse I guess. The Bills have one side of the ball in check at least to build off of. WHO DESERVES THE BLAME?? THE PEGULAS!
Real McClappy replied to billsfan61184's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was being astute. 1.4 Billion is chump change for a NFL team that will pay for itself in 4-5years. The team is already worth 1.6B as I type. It must be really nice to own a team for 3 years and make 1 Billion in revenue and have the team value increase 28%. I highly doubt they are embarrassed with a a very, very solid investment. -
Peterman Pick after early hit on Zay Jones?
Real McClappy replied to Real McClappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is understood and not what I'm trying to get at here in this thread. What about a PF for defenseless WR in a league that is supposed to be trying to protect it's players? We can talk about it being a bad play call all day by Daboll being short of the sticks but that doesn't change the fact that Zay was blown up from behind that lead to a pick 6. If this is acceptable, defensive cord strategy and DB coverage in the NFL should change all together to take advantage of it? Just knock the piss out of WR's and TE's at the LOS all game. -

I have looked at this play several times and understand the rule as to why it's not a PI on a rub route that needs to be 1 yard past the LOS to be "true" PI. This is damn near close to 1 yard past the sticks and debatable but whatever. What I don't understand is if the league is truly trying to protect it's players how the hell is this still not called for hit on a defenseless WR or helmet to helmet foul? At the 3 second mark Zay gets destroyed from behind while the ball is in the air 2.5 yards away from him.
