No sure fire Franchise QB's in 18' draft class
KellyToughII replied to KellyToughII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Arent we due then with Peterman? You keep poo poo'ing this guy without seeing what he can do in our offense. We are more likely to get an RG III, or Ryan Leaf vs a Franchise QB in the first round. How do you know Darnold will be Amazing in the NFL? -

"Marvin Allen has been with the Falcons for four years and spent 16 seasons with the New England Patriots, including his last 12 in the player personnel department as an Area Scout. " Good move. -

Impossible. If you read here, the Bills suck, how we hire personnel suck and no one worth a damn wants to work for us... *sarcasm off* -

All you will ever be able to do is mitigate the brain damage. This is why I have every Rookie and every player sign an Assumption of risk waiver to play pro football -

Who has been to, and won more superbowls Andrew Luck or Russell Wilson? Luck can put up some stats, but I don't see a guy who has taken the Colts on his back and willed them to win. But yes I get your point and somewhat agree. -

The only one that jumps off paper to me is Baker Mayfield. 2x Heisman trophy finalist for a reason. This will be his THIRD season as a starter. He gets the sooners back to the Playoffs again and is a HT Finalist again, how can he not be considered? Oh yeah, he isn't 6'4" of 6'5" like the others which is pure BS. Spread, Air Raid offense, yeah just like the other guys so that excuse is BS. Bottom line Bucky, is right, we need to wait until Feb next year before truly trying to evaluate the 18' QB class. Did you read the whole article? We have our guy to start the season on this roster, nothing more. Hell, if he busts his ass, Peterman could unseat Taylor between now and starting day, stuff happens. We have our 2017 starting day starter on this roster right now. Long term starter, even he says he doesn't know, our GM said he doesn't' know. -
This is the NFL, if I want to See T&A (and being honest that's all they are at the NFL Level) then I can go elsewhere. I watch a football game to watch a football game. Cheerleaders aren't needed at the NFL level.

Thank you Buckey Brooks! It is past time someone in the media tell the truth. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000809136/article/darnold-rosen-allen-no-surefire-franchise-qbs-in-next-wave This article is 100% spot on. I remember leading up to the draft, and after, Phil Savage, "The Godfather" Gil Brandt etal were saying it is folly to wait until next year for your QB And its folly to say "next years class is better". Every year after the draft fans are clamoring for this or that QB and then come a few weeks for the draft, they have fallen, EVERY year this happens. I am also sick of saying a 5th rounder can't be a franchise QB then someone throws out a bunch of bull **** stats. Stats can be found and modified in any way you want. I for one don't care about the 18' draft or any QB in it right now (although I have a good feeling about one myself). I want the 2017 NFL season to play out and see what this Bills team, under this staff has. Then after its all over, THEN start thinking if we need a QB, RB, LB or whatever.

Buffalo News:90 man depth roster heading into practices.
KellyToughII replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see Jones being on this roster. This regime would never have drafted him imho. Yates has ties to the WCO. Tyrod (who will be looking over his shoulder) Peterman and Yates will be the QB's No way. Jones flat sucks and isn't ready for the NFL still. Peterman is light years ahead and so is Yates. Fans need to quit looking at arm strength. -
Never hopefully

I am going on record, I LOVE what the Bills are doing. Love the GM and HC hire and I am 100% on board with it.

Bills Hiring Joe Schoen as Asst. GM
KellyToughII replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
@Kaenon, yep no matter what the Bills do,there are going to be fans that complain. -
Again, a SMART franchise does not handcuff its self to a handful of players. IF he prices himself out of what we want, or should, pay then franchise him. One player is not why they had a bad season. Look at Cam's Numbers for that answer. They kept him from running and forced him to be a QB and he failed at it. See how they added more weapons for him this offseason? Carolina has been my #2 team since their inception so I know about the Panthers. Beane will NOT overpay for a player, neither does Green Bay, Pittsburgh, NE teams that are always in the hunt. Fans need to prepare for a new way at OBD. Huge "name" splashes in Free agency are done. We will draft and develop, but let them move on if they don't fit the salary structure, like good teams do.
-
Then let them. Let him miss games for them. IF he can play 16 games and show consistency then we will try to sign him. IF he is pricing himself out of our range, then franchise him. The Pats, Steelers, Packers (Franchises we want to be like) don't cling to players. NE will cut a probowler tomorrow just because. When we start getting that attitude about players, we will improve. Not to be a jerk, but they are chess pieces to get us wins and titles. They come and go.
-
You re-sign IF They are worth it and IF They don't price themselves out of the team. You still have to be smart with the contracts, draft them or not. Unless he cant' stay on the field or does like Gilmore and thinks that he is worth more than he is. AGAIN... we have a TEAM to fill. We get every draft pick thinking they have to be paid top 5 in their position we can't field a team. Some stay, some go and right now, Sammy has shown me nothing to keep him. You don't make the club in the tub.
