There are so many holes on this team there is no way they can absorb that much dead money next year.
He is here for teo more years. Nature of the contract Overdorf wrote
He was late. He was "punished" if you think missing a Preseason game is any type of punishment.
Actually They are going to discuss punishment when they get back to Buffalo. All they did was send him home. I fine the living hell out of him. I also make him play the entire 4th preseason game. If he gets hurt, he better be able to prove it with every damn test known to man or I would sue his ass for malingering and breaching his contract. Screw this clown
-
Sure. Get him injured in a meaningless preseason game. Not smart at all if they did that.
I would ride his ass from now on. He would play every down. I would run this clown into the ground until he wants to retire. I fine his ass every time he does anything wrong.

The Bills might be interested given the previous affiliation with McDermott as Panthers' DC.
No joke! Why not?

I would like to address the persistent theme on this board that the Bills should tank.
As an example of this viewpoint, see: https://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/195620-this-team-is-being-built-like-water/?p=4489558
Let's look for a minute at the fate of teams which draft #1 overall (eg after being the NFL's "biggest losers") and choose a QB, as a franchise QB is generally regarded as the most important factor for a team's long term success. I'm going to look at the decade from 2005-2014 on the theory it's too soon to judge 2015 and 2016.
During that decade, a QB was drafted with the first overall pick 60% of the time (6/10). I'm going to look at the W/L record during the 'tank', and 5 years after the 'tank' since I think most fans would feel 5 years is enough time for a #1 draft pick to develop and a good coach/GM to build a team
Let's see what happened
Year Team Player W/L 'tank W/L Next 5 years Playoffs? Result
2005 SF Smith 2-14 4-12, 7-9, 5-11, 7-9, 8-8 N climb to Mediocrity
2007 Oak Russell 2-14 4-12, 5-11,5-11, 8-8, 8-8 N climb to Mediocrity
2009 Det Stafford 0-16 2-14, 6-10,10-6, 4-12,7-9 1x, WC 1 good year then Mediocrity
2010 StL Bradford 1-15 7-9, 2-14, 7-8, 7-9, 6-10 N Mediocrity
2011 Car Newton 2-14 6-10, 7-9, 12-4, 7-8, 15-1 2x ,Div, SB Success
2012 Ind Luck 2-14 11-5, 11-5, 11-5, 8-8, 8-8 3x WC, Div, Conf Success
Clearly, in 4 of 6 cases, drafting a QB #1 overall after a "tank" did NOT lead a team to long term winning success.
Was it just picking the wrong QB? In the case of Smith, like him or don't his teams have gone to playoffs 5 of the last 6 years, so arguably the team around the QB or the development of the QB has something to do with it. Matt Stafford overall has the stats of a good QB. He's durable, he passes for 7.1 ypa and >4000 yds per season, doesn't throw too many picks, took them to playoffs again in his 6th year. Bradford had durability issues, but played well in his 3rd season (a losing one for the team) and has played well his last 2 years, especially last year. The only clear-cut terrible, very bad, no good QB was Russell.
I just throw that out there for the guys who are clamoring for "tank, tank". Reflect a bit, because clearly tanking and drafting #1 Qb has not proven the path to success more often than it has.
What part of the crap we have done with the position for 21 years now, doesn't work is still being missed. We ARE Taking a QB high next year you can count on it. And you MUST keep swinging until you find the QB with out one you don't have a shot
-
Well with his contract he cant until at the end of next season. The biggest player friendly contract in the NFL
And I posted we can get rid of him. Most of the hit goes next year, they can manage it. Get rid of his sorry ass
-
Again it is PRESEASON.
I bet Edelman today wishes he was sent home for violating a team rule.
So, he has a contract.
-
Maybe he didnt want to play in a fake game.
Not justifying him, but if he is going to be selfish rather he do it now when these games mean nothing.
You really have no out with him anyway until end of Next year. Such a horrible contract.
While I get your point, screw him. Everyone else is out there and he has a contract to uphold. IMHO he is a lazy ass who is collecting a paycheck and screwing off because he thinks he cant get cut or traded.
-
If we trade him now its a 4.2 mill cap hit with 20 mill in dead cap. We can deal with that with moves, restructures, etc. I trade his stupid butt right now. I for one am sick of this guy already
-
Showed up to the Stadium at 5pm
Every other player already on the field when he showed up
This kid doesn't get it. Make the moves needed and trade his ass already.
-
I think he suits the zone scheme actually. Interesting to see the numbers and see what they do with him and Groy.... if they are both in your best 5 I think you have to think how you get them on the field.AS
As for as Groy... move to guard and backup center?
-
Would just like to know what he did
I am not posting this in a jerk way John but who cares? If the team has established rules you follow them, I don't care who you are. This team has lacked Discipline for a long time
-
Five last year and potentially 10 this year
Joe I am with you. I dont think I would have sent him home. I think I would have kept it quiet and traded his ass for anything I could have got this week.

Bills new regime doing yeoman's work trying to change culture here. Loosey-goosey Rex Ryan days long over. Dareus long been an issue
Damn straight he has. I look for them to unload him just as soon as the new league year (cap) hits.
-
I am saying 41.
LMAO don't go to vegas and place that bet. 23 passing if he is lucky, 5 more running maybe. This guy is nothing more than a 27 or so TOTAL TD guy per year. Not nearly enough.
-
I am positive in the direction they are going, not where they are. I pray McBeane makes more trades / cuts and gets actual talent in here this offseason....starting with QB. I see it happening so I am feeling better than I have in years.
-
No i really dont. Peterman is not ready
I do, playing is the only way you get ready. This get ready from the bench BS is that, BS. We don't have a HOF QB here tutoring him. Look the kid needs to play and play with the ones. We need to know he can develop into the 10+ year backup we need him to be.
Our real QB comes in next years draft, I get it. But I am sick of watching a gimmick Athlete try to be a QB. 17 years we have had crap at the QB position pushed on us. I wish to God they cut TT's ass in the offseason, but they didnt. At least let Peterman get some real quality reps with better players to solidify the backup job
-
Why on earth would you wish for our starting QB to pull his hamstring on a stupid run? Perhaps you should think about why you're a fan of this team.
Not everyone wants to see a 4th round rookie play. Nor does everyone think a "fair assessment" is warranted.
I just don't understand all this Peterman love.
First off Dan I have been a BILLS fan since 83' Dont try to tell me or anyone else what fans should and should wish for. Secondly TT Flat sucks. I am sick of a guy who shouldn't be starting in the NFL Peddled off on us. He is gone this offseason, he sucks as a QB, he is a running back/ Punt returner with a good deep ball that is all.
Next a pulled hammy is not a big deal esp in preseason. YES I want his ass on the bench and YES I want to see Peterman get reps with the first team. YES I would like TT gone right now because I AM a BILLS fan and sick of crap players wasting years trying to "develop" when after 6 full seasons it obvious they still suck and will always suck.
I hope this was clear enough.
-
No injuries except for the starting QB just so you can see a rookie who's not ready to play at the NFL level.
Some of just want to watch the world (or TBD) burn Master Bruce...
-
First no injuries. Second, just improvement
My wish? TT pulls a hammy on a stupid run when WR's were open, but he won't throw to them, on the first or second series. Peterman comes in and leads 3 scoring drives.
-
Jesus guys stop already
-
I start him game 1 with a limited playbook and let the kid develop. We don't have a HOF QB named Favre for him to sit on the bench and learn from
-
Ok then he just isnt a good QB then
LMAO Bobby spot on. 7th year and this guy still stinks. He is a good backup at best. I have never understood many Bills fans. They lock onto a guy who isn't good and keep trying to polish turds.
These guys need a real franchise QB so they can finally understand the crap the Org. has put out there for about 17 years now
-
It's quite obvious the Bills are hoping to upgrade the QB position in next year's draft. Taylor works hard and does his best so I don't get all the bashing.
Because he sucks as a QB. I don't care he is a great guy, works hard, comes in first, leaves last blah blah blah. Bottom line, he isn't a good QB. He is nothing more than "Rudy". Loveable guy you want to root for, but just isn't good.
Way past time to get a Real QB in here. BTW this is TT's 7th year? Goff is just starting his 2nd and can all ready do this...
-
A better analogy is McBean is the bulldozer and the Bills are the old house. Instead of bulldozing half the house, they need to bulldoze it all and light a match to the remaining wood.
Stop bs'ing around and go for 1-15.
I am down with that
Dareus sent home for violating a team rule

Tell Dareus that, because he acts like he is still there. And yeah I do it. I make this punk want to retire.
